PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

HEIGHT: 5’5.
BUILD: Paige is a bit on the curvy side, weighing in at around 135 pounds.
EYES: Kind, round, heavily lashed; ranges from sky blue to a slate grey color.
HAIR:Long, often worn in loose curls or messy up-dos; natural corn silk blonde.

DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Paige possesses a year round sun kissed glow and has several beauty marks/moles on her body in various places. She also has both ears pierced, along with a belly button piercing. She has a purple butterfly on her right shoulder blade.

CLOTHING STYLE: The blonde prefers feminine, chic clothing and is often more than not seen in a sundress or skirt. Despite her love of high fashion, Paige still maintains a rather earthy style of dress, none of her self-made clothing seeming too refined or pretentious. It’s rare to catch the blonde in jeans but when she does wear them they are worn, comfy, and sometimes acid washed. Paige experiments with looks now and again, but mostly sticks to a relatively modest ‘girl next door’ type of style. Paige prefers more natural makeup, and tends to wear more simple yet pretty pieces of jewelry. Accessory wise, she practically color coordinates in her sleep, and usually has a large, self-made purse full of all kinds of things with her.

UNIFORM: Paige will likely be issued a standard black and gold uniform.

POWERS

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Paige is a transitional omnimorph who is capable of shedding the first few outer layers of her skin to reveal a new substance or form underneath. When Paige takes on a new form after “husking,” she often gains additional attributes (such as super-strength, invulnerability, or superhuman elasticity, depending on the form she takes) for as long as she maintains that alternate form. Paige can completely shed her skin and reveal a new form in as little as three seconds for basic to intermediate forms, and switch effortlessly between them.

The new mutant has so far managed to stay in a “Paige-shaped” form for fifteen minutes without feeling the need to resume her natural form. It is theorized that with training, she can prolong the amount of time she can maintain an alternate state – which she will be relieved to accomplish, considering her ability has the embarrassing result of leaving her stark naked after each use when she resumed her normal form, as her clothes are “husked” right along with her skin, including all shoes and jewelry. She can’t even keep her makeup on…

So far, Paige has taken these three basic forms:
  • Wood: Enhanced Durability.
Rubber: Enhanced flexibility, moldability, and elasticity.
    Granite: Enhanced durability, strength.
It is possible that Paige can eventually maintain any alternate form for up to an hour at a time before having to revert to her natural state. It is theoretically possible for Paige to not only assume liquid states and their properties (such as liquid mercury or acids) but also the forms of animals. In the future, Paige could even learn to blend with her surroundings using her ability – so long as she was familiar with the composition of what she was blending with.

With some concentration, Paige could potentially learn to focus her ability on only one part of her body, and this retains the possibility of being able to do things like form her hands into tools or bladed weapons - or any other part of her body as she sees fit. Due to the nature of her abilities, she could possibly even “husk” away minor injuries. Paige can potentially “husk” up to fifteen different times in a 24 hour period with little difficulty. It is even assumed it is possible for her to take forms that are below her natural body mass – though the theories about where her excess mass would be temporarily located are plethoric; the most common being that it could be stored in a sort of linked pocket dimension, until she takes her natural form again.

WEAKNESS:
At present time, Paige can only assume three basic forms, in a “Paige-shape”, for only fifteen minute increments at a time before needing to revert to her natural state. Paige is also currently limited to solid substances and can only “husk” up to five times a day, before experiencing discomfort.

Her current inability to assume any other form than the listed basic three is presumably due to her needing to be familiar with the characteristics and composition of the form she wants to take; this can limit her until she learns about more substances, and the more complex compositions can take longer to learn and be slightly harder to assume at first. It is assumed that it would be impossible for Paige to take on forms that would make her exceed her natural body mass.

Even at her apex, Paige cannot change forms too many times in one period without rest, lest she risk great physical pain and even injury. She would theoretically start feeling discomfort at the twentieth transition and would physically be unable to transition into any other alternate state after the twenty-fifth. When extensively injured or unconscious, Paige automatically reverts to her human form, meaning she could be left vulnerable. Paige can only potentially shed minor to moderate wounds completely, the more severe/deeper wounds staying with her, and most likely preventing her from using her abilities at all.

Paige needs to be able to reach her skin in order to be able to use her abilities as the first few layers of skin need to be removed in order to activate the layer beneath. If she were to be bound to where she would not be able to remove her skin, she would not be able to use her powers.

Paige has no natural or artificial resistance/immunity to psionic manipulation, which makes her vulnerable to all forms of psionic attack and coercion in her natural and, at the moment, alternate states.

Each alternate form has its own inherent weaknesses just as it has it’s own inherent advantages.
  • Wood: Able to only exert/withstand up to 100 lbs of force. Extremely vulnerable to fire and ice.
Rubber: Cannot stretch beyond six feet, cannot bounce back from falls greater than fifteen feet. Extremely vulnerable to fire and ice.
Granite: Cannot exert or withstand more than one ton of force. Decreased agility/reaction time.
PERSONALITY
It is clear upon first meeting Paige that she is a bubbly, positive, outgoing, and sometimes alarmingly talkative young woman. The new mutant possesses an aura of genuine warmth that makes her quite approachable, aided by the fact that she makes a habit of making and maintaining eye-contact, as well as being quick to offer anyone who looks her way a warm smile.

Paige was raised on southern hospitality and is gifted at making people feel comfortable around her. She is an intelligent girl, a gifted conversationalist – fun to talk to not only because of her ability to take a joke and her wide knowledge and enthusiasm, but also her ability to simply listen. Paige is polite, while not necessarily soft-spoken, an exercises her manners on a daily basis. Her close-knit family has inspired a very family/friend orientated mentality that leads her to seek and relish close connections with those she considers kindred spirits. Of course, Paige doesn’t exclude unfamiliar faces – she actually sees them as new friends – until proven otherwise. Given the fact she is an absolute hopeless romantic, she also has been known to try to play matchmaker. For everyone but herself, of course, as she has a career to focus on.

The omnimorph is particularly fair minded and doesn’t judge nor assume – she is more than happy to accept the beliefs and opinions of others, even if she doesn’t necessarily agree with them herself. Paige believes in God and the Golden Rule, but does not involve herself in politics or world views, at least tries not to. She is an idealist at heart, a visionary – she dreams of a world where mutants and humans aren’t at each other’s throats and nations co-exist in harmony and there is plenty for all. She tries to be a positive influence on those around her, and often employs what she jokingly calls her ‘secondary mutation’: the seeming ability to always find a silver lining.

Paige is very social and thrives in large crowds; she has developed a thick skin over the years due to events in her childhood and the large majority of slights and insults roll right off her back. Her response is mostly a witty comeback or simply walking away – sometimes both. She is more prone to get into a verbal confrontation if she witnessed someone being cruel to someone else. Paige doesn’t stand for bullies of any kind, and won’t hesitate to stand up for what she thinks is right. Her capacity for bravery makes her a staunch and loyal friend, one who’s not afraid to step into crossfire in order to protect someone she cares for. She is not a violent person, however. Despite her somewhat scrappy nature and the occasional threat of kicking someone right where the sun don’t shine, Paige is a pacifist and prefers to talk things out over violence. Like the rest of her family, she was taught to respect life, and can’t even currently conceive of causing grievous harm to another human being. Whether they’re an asshat or not.

Her ambition and drive is admirable to most; she has an easily noticeable need to succeed, and possesses hints of a highly competitive nature that can rub some the wrong way. This can make placing her in a leadership position a bit dicey, because positions of power tend to bring out her bossy, perfectionistic side. Paige is a very self-motivated and disciplined individual that delights in accomplishing the goals she sets for herself, and often finds joy in helping others reach such goals as well. There was a time when Paige was more of a tomboy than a feminine ray of sunshine, and once in a while that old, down to earth and somewhat blunt nature shines through.

Paige also possesses a rather sharp wit that sometimes runs away with her, along with a slightly oddball sense of humor that makes her laugh at inappropriate things, and a tendency to ramble when she’s nervous. She can also be a bit of a flirt, and has a love of material things – and sometimes it takes her a moment to remember that there are things more important. The young mutant doles out affection when she feels someone needs it, and can be a little waspish when she feels she is being brushed off or rejected.

Paige is generally open with her emotions and it doesn’t take a telepath to know when something is bothering her – but when her pride is on the line or when she has been emotionally wounded, she’s more inclined to withdraw into herself and sulk than talk it out. If a resolution is not reached relatively soon, there’s an increased chance of seeing the legendary temper and spiteful streak that she often let fly on the bullies when she was younger. Paige has a wild side she thankfully grew out of, but occasionally she’s been known to do something reckless – like go to a bar, get a little hot and heavy with a boy, etc., all in the name of good fun.

Paige also tends to be a little too trusting, a little too gullible when it comes to suave, sophisticated men. The root of her driven, competitive nature is the misplaced fear of not being “good enough,” of being put down for her humble beginnings and personal faults. As such, slights of this nature tend to bring out her bad side.

HISTORY: PRE-APOCALYPSE
Paige was born the second eldest of what eventually would become ten children the Guthrie brood, and served as a mother to her younger siblings when Lucinda was not able to, from the second baby Joshua was born and then on. Even at a year old, Paige was very loving and attentive to her younger brother – and attached to Sam’s hip, who was three years her senior. The children were afforded a comfortable enough living on a farm in rural Cumberland Township, Kentucky – but what living they had they had to work very hard for. Paige was only eight when their father died of black lung, a disease that was a very likely future for most men working the mines.

Paige took her father’s death hard – all of his children did. Losing a loving, supportive parent was probably the worst feeling Paige had ever felt, and it wasn’t something she was going to simply bounce back from. The young mutant had always been a bit on the chunky side, but as the years passed – especially after the loss of her father, Paige only gained more weight. The constant work to be done on the farm and keeping her younger siblings reined in kept it from getting too out of control, but the blonde was often a target of bullying, and a sufferer of “ugly duckling” syndrome.

Paige was Lucinda’s right hand from the moment her father died, which helped take her mind off of things for the most part. It had been hard enough getting by with Thomas, but after his death they were in serious danger of backsliding. Sam stepped up to the plate out of sheer necessity, taking to the mines. Paige helped in any way she could – she had wanted to go to the mines too, but Lucinda wouldn’t hear of it. It was hard enough for her to send Sam so young – while Sam was toiling away underground, Paige did her best to hold up things on the farm.

Due to not having money to throw around, the eldest girl learned to sew and mend clothing at a very young age. Paige took to it very well, taught by her skilled mother, and within a year was making her own creations. Sewing was also the gateway that allowed her to discover her love of creating pretty things – it didn’t take her long to begin to study how to make dresses and other forms of clothing, spending a lot of her time yearning for the material to make such wonderful things. Paige got a lot of practice on old clothes and curtains that her mother gifted her, and within another year had successfully made her first dress with the blue velvet her mother and siblings had gotten her for her birthday.

Two years after Sam took to the mines, the Guthrie clan got a bit of a shock. The mine had collapsed, sending the family into an all-out panic. Paige was in a state of hysterics over the safety of her brother and worried about her mother’s condition – the family barely survived losing their father, it surely couldn’t handle losing Sam too…

Happy and strange news circulated, and the Guthrie’s came to realize Sam was a mutant. Not that they particularly cared much, seeing as he was whole and relatively unharmed – and had managed to become a hero in the process. If Sam hadn’t possessed a “flaw” in his DNA….he would be dead. Paige hadn’t paid much mind to mutants – they weren’t exactly common in her neck of the woods and she and her family had more important things to worry about. If anything they had been nothing more than a passing interest to her curious, intelligent mind...but she had never been happier there was such a thing than in those moments when she realized that her big brother was alive.

This revelation came with some repercussions, however. Sam was either regarded as a hero or a freak of nature, something to be scorned and feared. Help on the farm dwindled to almost nothing and there were several children at school that taunted and teased the younger kids for having a “mutie” brother. Paige took the brunt of it, protecting her younger siblings from the most she could. She was no stranger to being taunted – being poor wasn’t uncommon in those parts, but as a slightly awkward, chunky girl she’d taken her hits on the nose growing up. The worst were the Cabots – their girl Julia was alright, but the rest were waking nightmares.

It wasn’t too long before the man in the wheelchair showed up. He spoke to Sam about a school, wanting to take Sam away – Paige and the rest of the siblings were listening right outside the door while Lucinda and Sam asked the man, Xavier, their questions. Paige was very upset when Sam decided to take the offer, but she understood that it was in her brother’s best interest. If anything, it would get him out of harm’s way. She didn’t like the way people looked at him, at any of them. Some of the people in the area were mean, violent – Sam was good, but he was different, and in a lot of eyes, different always meant that you were to be feared.

After Sam left, things were tight, but the Guthrie clan managed, often hanging on Sam’s every word during the frequent as possible calls, letters, and visits. Things seemed to be going well for her brother, and she was happy for him – though in truth she did feel a bit abandoned, and the idea of having to fill Sam’s shoes….she wasn’t sure she could do it. This was the time in her life where Paige’s confidence and work ethic was really put to the test. She put all of herself into maintaining her family’s stability and working toward her new found dream of becoming a fashion designer.

Jay had taken Sam leaving pretty hard too – by the time they were teenagers, Paige had developed a suspicion that something was going on with Jay, but she could never be sure what. Keeping things going the farm was a full time job, and adding on a waitressing gig at a local diner meant that she often didn’t have time to look after her baby brother like she wanted. In a way, Paige blames herself for what happened to him. If she had been more supportive, maybe he would have told her about him and Julia – maybe things would have been different.

When Mel had found out Josh was a mutant two years previous to the incident, Paige had advised him to go to the school. Josh refused, but Lucinda made Paige relent in asking why. Over the years, Paige had wondered if any of her other siblings – even herself – might also harbor the gene. But as years passed, and many failed attempts at flying (it seemed to be a common thread?) failed, Paige accepted that she was simply human. She wanted Josh to take advantage of the same tools Sam was using, coming into his powers. She didn’t want him to be a potential target…and that was exactly what happened ,though in a way she never expected.

She had been working late at the diner when Josh was attacked and lost Julia, the same night he made his first attempt at suicide. Paige, after seeing that he was somehow miraculously alright thanks to the additional ability to heal, just held him for as long as he let her and sobbed. She didn’t talk to him for a while after that, part of her blaming herself and the other part blaming him. Their relationship was strained from the beginning – Paige had a habit of bossing Josh around a bit, but lovingly so. She just wanted the best for him, they all did – she hoped he could see that. But after losing his girlfriend, Josh demanded to be called Jay and all but shut down, forcing Lucinda’s hand when it came to insisting that he go to the school and gain some distance nearly a year after his loss, and several suicide attempts later.

DURING APOCALYPSE (April 7th through April 12th, 2009)
The end of days had never meant much to Paige – but the summer she turned eighteen, things went to hell in a hand basket. Sam and Jay were trying their best to keep the Guthrie family calm and reassure them everything was alright, but it clearly wasn’t. Paige wasn’t directly in the crossfire, thank God, but the panic and mayhem was all over the place.

It was hard for Paige to believe that the monsters she heard of doing these horrible things were later revealed to be once trusted members of the X-men. They were called the Horsemen, and it really seemed like Hell had come to Earth, biblical style.

Apocalypse was apparently not just a sentiment or an idea, it was actually a person. According to Sam and Jay, En El Sabur was the root of all the trouble, and one tough son of a gun who could do things to people, and make them do things they didn't want to do. He'd somehow gotten hold of memebers of the X-men and made them into his lackeys, having them cause destruction and death all over the world. Paige and her family watched in horror as Paris and London were filled with walking dead, as the people of the American heartland were reduced to skin and bones, as Mutant Town is turned into a battleground, and disease rages in the east. Nothing is left untouched.

Paige and her family spent many a sleepless night wondering if they would get a call saying that Sam or Jay hadn’t made it through that madness, or if they'd hear anything more at all. Cumberland Township, Kentucky was not in the midst of the apocalypse, but things certainly weren't normal. Animals were going ballistic, sensing something was greatly amiss in the world, and people were scared - and when people are scared, they're dangerous. The Guthrie household had to deal with quite a few unwanted visitors, proclaiming the 'muties' and their kind were the cause of so many events. Thankfully, Thomas Guthrie's old shotgun and a very angry Ma Guthrie were enough to scare off any would-be vigilante's and prevent any of their ilk from getting any ideas.

Days, weeks passed - Ma Guthrie and Paige kept the younger kids as calm as possible, and tried to live life as normal. The town more or less shut down in some parts, many refusing to leave their homes. Paige was without a job for the length of this time, the diner she waitressed at shutting it's doors, the owner having more or less taken to his basement.

POST-APOCALYPSE
Thanks to the combined efforts of mutants, including her brothers, the end of the world and all that brought it were defeated and it seemed the world was to be left in relative peace. It took the Guthries a long while to really believe what had happened, and that somehow despite all odds, they hadn't lost Jay or Sam.

The town returned to normal slowly after Apocalypse's defeat. Within a few months, the town seemed to have put the incident behind it, likely finding it was simply better on the whole to try and pretend that the whole thing had never happened. It was around this time Paige began entertaining the idea of going to New York. Even though she wasn't a mutant, she wanted to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer - and New York City was one of the many fashion capitols of the world. She began researching specific universities, trying to come up with viable ways of pursuing her dream without leaving her family in the dust...

But when it came down to it, the family needed Paige. Ma wasn't getting any younger and the farm needed all the hands and money it could get. New York living, even in the crappy sides of town was highly expensive, and with tuition? She didn't have a hope in all the world....

But that didn't stop her from dreaming and keeping her eyes open for possibilities.

The Brotherhood assassinations were highly televised, leaving Paige stunned. It had always been clear from her talks with Sam and Jay that not all mutants were like the X-men nor the man that founded them, but she'd never imagined that there might be actual 'mutant terrorists' before. But from what her brother's told her and what she was seeing on the news, not all mutants were very tolerant of humans or their agenda. The brotherhood goes on to attack world monuments, which doesn't improve the case the X-men and their allies were trying to make for mutants everywhere.

PURIFIERS

The riots were the first sign that something was not quite right. Humans were gathering in masses, making threats. It was only clear these horrible people meant business when a small town in West Virginia was all but blown to bits for 'harboring' mutants...

Human hatred had never seemed so organized - like a ray of lethal light that had previously spread wide and barely had any effect had been suddenly zeroed in and multiplied, burning a hole through anything unfortunate enough to get into it's path. The new Mayor of New York certainly was NOT helping things, and a student trip to the museum put several mutant children in danger when rioters targeted the place.

The Night of Broken Glass made the Guthries grow only more worried for their mutant family members, as well as all the other innocent mutants getting caught in the fray. It seemed like someone had spotted a hornet's nest and just given it a good kick. Things only got worse from there, with Jay's disappearance being the icing on the cake. Paige was nearly ill with grief, and could only imagine how Sam felt. After days, weeks passed...even optimistic Paige began to lose hope she'd ever see her little brother alive again.

It was only after the school was all but blown to smithereens that Jay resurfaced, having been mauled and beaten. Thankfully, yet again, his healing factor managed to at least keep him alive long enough to fully recover - the only snag would be that he was rescued by what Paige had been lead to believe the enemy...

Jay had decided to stay with the Hellfire Club who had found him while attacking a Purifier base, and while Paige definitely had misgivings about her brother withdrawing and leaving the X-men....she still understood that Jay might need his space after such a traumatic event...

No, sometimes...she didn't envy her brother's at all.

SKRULLS
Paige had thought she’d pretty much seen it all – a relatively naïve thought now that she considered it – when a live telecast introducing the Skrull began playing on the television screen. And that wasn't all - Sam and Jay were in the crossfire when the aliens made themselves known and targeted those who would stand up for the human and mutant race alike.

Somehow, despite all the excitement and the fear, the Guthrie farm managed to run steadily, thanks to plenty of work readily available to keep their minds off of the building panic around the world.

Like pretty much everyone else, Paige was a victim of the Complacency Wave, and she doesn’t really remember much of those few days – only that she seemed perfectly content to submit to the will of the invading alien race until, thankfully, the X-men and their allies prevailed over the intergalactic threat.

Illuminati Utilizes Phoenix Force, Jan. 2013 - Sept. 2013.

It should have been obvious to everyone something was wrong when a hero attacked a diplomatic function - but it only went downhill from there. Paige heard of each catastrophe either through the news or from Sam after all was said and done. It was moments like this, when she heard the stress in Sam's voice that she wished she could be there for him, help him...do SOMETHING other than just sit pretty on the farm. Granted, she was working her hands to the bone, but...it felt like nothing compared to the hell her kin went through everyday in upstate New York.

Sam and his team were under constant assault. Paige once again spent a great majority of her nights wondering if she'd ever see her brothers alive again as The Illuminati gathered steam and kept throwing everything it had at the world, seemingly determined to bring it to it's knees. Thankfully, as always was the case, there never seemed to be a short supply of heroes from all over the world when they were needed...

A monster nearly destroys New York, and major cities are attacked by what Sam later calls 'Madbombs', which drove New York absolutely nuts. It was during this assault by some crazy lady Sam called Spiral that Sam was hospitalized for the first time trying to stop a bomb from going off in North Korea, sending the Guthrie clan into code red - her brother had been beaten with a bus. If she ever saw that purple alien, he'd regret having ears...

The second blow rocked Paige even harder, due to Jay's involvement. Sam was trying to do the good thing as always, and ended up getting involved in a tussle with the Hellfire Club. Paige had never once in a million years thought that Jay would be willing to fight his own brother on the side of strangers. Paige trusted each and every family member, even their adopted youngest brother implicitly. If there was one thing Paige never would think of doubting, it was the Guthrie clans love and loyalty....until then. Another mutant's interference thankfully broke up the impending fight, but left Sam hospitalized yet again...and left Paige questioning everything.

The only good thing to happen in this yet another series of unfortunate events, other than Sam's complete recover, is that the school reopened. This period of success lasted only long enough only for that happy time to end with the tragedy of having it's successor seemingly murdered on his own back porch...

There were times when Paige would trade almost anything to have powers in order to be at her brothers' sides. There were also times when Paige didn't wish she was mutant at all, and was quite content with raising her siblings and having the only battles she fought be between imaginary heroes and monsters (for some reason when it came to playing with her siblings she was always the monster) and the men intending on groping her at the diner...

The Illuminati unleashed the Phoenix Force, putting her brother in danger yet again - and in the midst of everything, a man insists heroes are not what they seem, the world is forced to endure nightmares, thousands of people are forced to mutate, and the Xavier's School is attacked by Dark X-men, and a man known as Dr. Doom takes over the UN - in time for Phoenix Force to wreak havoc, before finally being stopped by one of Sam's allies, Jean Grey-Summers.

The Illuminati is thankfully defeated after months of causing Sam and his family, along with the entire world, considerable stress and pain. Paige was simply just glad it was over...but she couldn't help but wonder at what cost?

CURRENT HISTORY

Relative peace fell over the Guthrie homestead after the Illuminati escapade. Jay, much to her relief, came to his senses and left the Hellfire club after they revealed themselves to be as shady as Sam always claimed, but he didn't return to the mansion...the omnimorph didn't pressure him this time, picking up on the fact he likely just needed to sort things out for himself and he would make the right decision when it came time.

Paige continued working in the diner and attempting to keep the younger siblings in line, while her brothers were off saving the universe one day at a time. She had become a relatively well known fashion blogger on YouTube, spending most of her free time designing and making new creations, dreaming about her future life while poring over fashion magazines.

Paige discovered her mutant abilities quite by accident – she had gotten a bit of sunburn and had been peeling – next thing she knew, she had a sheet of her own skin in her hand and was apparently made out of wood. After surprise made her immediately turn back, the new mutant had to run through a cornfield stark naked to get to her clothes, putting them on as she went.

Paige couldn’t wait to call Sam and Jay and tell them (leaving out the bit where she streaked through a cornfield), and almost immediately set off for Xavier’s after making sure things were taken care of at the homestead. She was excited to go to New York for more than just Xavier’s, however – the big apple was one of the biggest fashion hot spots and held a bright promise for her career. It was with a spring in her step that Paige entered the airport – she didn’t really like leaving her family behind but…

She knew her future was in New York.

SAMPLE RP POST:
Paige Elisabeth Guthrie had never been more excited in her life.

She loved her family, their farm – the country would always have a place in her heart but ever since she was little she always dreamed of going to the big city and finding her way through life there. She hadn’t known what she would do at first – maybe she’d model or act or write – she wasn’t musically gifted like Jay was. Singing for her was absolutely out of the question – her voice was restricted to the shower for the sake of everyone’s ears.

It wasn’t until she began sewing she really knew what her path in life was. Fashion wasn’t about just the material for her – it had more soul than that for her. It was expression, creation – taking something inside of you and putting it on the outside for everyone to see. There was beauty in it, beauty so few understood. Many ‘fashionistas’ took their calling to a dark, mean place. As competitive as Paige was, she wasn’t cut throat. She believed in being fair – that was why what few pieces she’d managed to sell on the side, she sold at fair prices. It didn’t matter that handmade clothing was more valuable. It didn’t matter she spent hours and hours on those pieces. What mattered was that she was creating, making something beautiful and sending it out into the world…and people were appreciating it. Granted, she had gotten some negative feedback, but really, who hadn’t?

Paige currently found herself thinking this over in the back of a cab – she had just touched down and was on her way to the mansion for the first time. She had never set foot out of Cumberland Township before. It was exciting and terrifying; the lights, the people, the skyscrapers…the energy of the city hit her all at once, she could feel it from the airport terminal even. She lost her breath when she finally got outside to see the New York skyline, able to feel the thrum of six million + heartbeats. It was a promising, comforting feeling – a warm sense of hope and new paths to take. The possibilities seemed limitless to her, even if it did take her a solid fifteen minutes to figure out how to effectively hail a cab…and almost get run over in the process.

She was wearing her favorite dress, a white number with yellow flowers on it. Florals were dangerous unless one knew what one was doing – but paired with a cropped denim jacket and tan cowboy boots, it was something she felt pulled together well. She was wearing light makeup for the occasion, blond hair left loose in wide ringlets that framed her pretty heart shaped face, which was dominated by her wide, curious blue eyes.

“Ah’m goin’ to see mah brothers,” she said good naturedly to the cabbie, who merely grunted in response. He was a taciturn looking man with blood shot eyes, a great amount of stubble, and a jaunty cap a little askew on his head. “It’s mah first time in the city – isn’t it beautiful?” she continued, leaning up in the seat just in time to catch a glimpse of what looked like to be a mugging as the cab whirred passed.

“Yeah, a fuckin’ masterpiece,” the cabbie grumbled.

Hey there, Yvonne. I love this. I really do; the powers and personality are well fleshed out, and the history is well adapted but, as is often the case, I have oooone thing I'd like to see addressed.

The Illuminati plot in which a cabal of villains attempted to absorb the powers of the cosmic-fueled Phoenix Force and subjugate the world took place from January 1st, 2013 to about mid-September of that same year, where it all ended in a global clash between The Phoenix Legion and everybody else.

About as detailed a report as we currently have on those events can be found

And also, a little expansion/clarity on Paige's conceptions of Jay's going to work/live with The Hellfire Club. Sam railed against it, going so far as threatening to bar him from the Guthrie homestead because of the people he was going with. He's abandoned the HFC since then, in light of their actions during the Illuminati plot, and just some ideas on how Paige feels about this would be good.

All edits made as requested.

Also, I added a bit to her powers - the ability to potentially reveal new isolated forms like turning her hands into bladed weapons.

I'd forgotten about that bit initially.

Oops! You still missed filling in what was going on during the Illuminati plot! It was the span of time between right now and the Skrull plot, starting in January 2013 and running until September 2013.

In this event, the X-Men (Sam included) and other factions were under constant assault, and Jay's employers went from aggravators to outright Supervillains; this needs adressed in your current history section, as Jay did not defect from the HFC until after that story ended.

Gah! Sorry about that! I got distracted fleshing out my powers, I totally forgot to mention that last bit! lol

Is that better? Or do I need to go into more detail? Did I miss anything else?

Yeah, you've got Jay covered but a lot of the Illuminati goes unmentioned, which trust me, it shouldn't; Sam was hospitalized two separate times over that year, once in February after getting thoroughly thrashed by The Gladiator in Korea (he was literally beaten with a metro bus) and one later after a tussle with Longshot of the Hellfire Club left him with broken ribs and road rash for miles.

It was a dark time for the Guthrie house, plus its good to be well versed on the events I linked above.

Okay, I mentioned Sam's involvement in North Korea, the bomb/Spiral, and Sam's tussle with the Hellfire Club and being hospitalized twice, plus some minor added details that Sam might have told her.

Is this better?

The edits made are fine with me. And this has my [S T A M P]

One more is needed; your next reviewer may ask for updates/changes that I did not.

Hey Yvonne, I've got a couple of points to cover with you so just bear with me.

1. In terms of her faction, when you say 'New X-men' do you mean Legacy Squad? Even at the age of 24, she cannot be full X-man if she has had no time/experience at the school. It's something she can work to, but in the meantime the Legacy Squad may serve her better.

2. History - You've made a great start in getting all the Guthrie details nailed down and fleshing out her backstory but there are instances in the site history where you skim things a little.

For instance in Apocalypse, what about the extreme weather conditions or the EMP that caused a short lived, but world wide blackout? You've got the right idea though and its not that we need to see tons and tons written in, just understanding.

In terms of Jay's abduction, that happened during the Purifiers, not before it. The Post Apocalypse time frame was from mid 2009 - May 2011, if that helps as well and a large plot happened in that period, though not one that would have impacted on everyone. Our site wides can last for a long time, again something to keep in mind.

In Purifiers, did she have any reaction to what happened outside of the effects on her own family?

There isn't much that needs changing/adding, but I think it will help you to think of things in slightly broader terms when it comes to the history. If you need help, just ask away or respond to this thread when you're done. Thanks.

Yeah, I meant the Legacy Squad. I have no idea where New X-Men came from, lol.

And I beefed up her Purifiers entry and added some extra details about what was going on there, as requested, as well as corrected the entry about Jay's abduction.

All in all I think I touched on everything mentioned!

Alright! I have read through the history three more times and found several things I hadn't mentioned before that probably should be. I have expounded on personal and board history in:

During Apocalypse, Post Apocalypse, Purifier, and Skrull history - as well as the absolutely huge chunk I added before during the Illuminati plot as that had a lot of effects world wide.

I really feel I have added all that should be relevant, though if you see anything else that I missed, please let me know and I'll add it in!
