PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

HEIGHT: 5'9"
BUILD: Weighs 129# with a skinny athletic build
EYES: Brown
HAIR: None
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: His reptile physiology has given him green scaly skin. His head is covered in a carapace (looking a lot like hair) with sharp spikes all over, giving him an 80s punk rock sort of look. His right arm is larger than his left with a carapace similar to the one on his head with sharp spikes covering it. The nails on his right hand have lengthened and become what look like some dangerous claws.
CLOTHING STYLE: While not exactly dressing as a slob, Victor prefers comfortable, loose clothing. Because of this he typically wears jeans (or shorts), short-sleeved tees, and either flip-flops or a pair of worn comfortable Converse sneakers.
UNIFORM: Vic used to wear the usual yellow and black student uniform, and still keeps it as a back up, but he's decided he needs a change and had a new one made. The new one is a sleeveless grey bodysuit with dark blue boots, a dark blue X on his chest that wraps around his body making another X on his back, and a dark blue fingerless glove and gauntlet on his left hand.

POWERS

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Reptile Physiology- Anole very much resembles the hybrid child of a lizard and a human. His skin is covered in green scales, has no hair anywhere on his body, a spiked carapace covers his head as well as his right arm which is slightly larger than the left, and he has a long prehensile tongue which is forked at the end.

Capable of moving faster than a normal human, Vic can run close to 40 mph. The muscles in Anole's body produce far less fatigue toxins than a normal human and he is able to exert himself at peak physical capacity for up to two hours before needing to rest.

Anole's reptilian physiology provides him with a regenerative healing factor. He can even regrow limbs that have been severed. The newly grown limb has a much more reptilian appearance and is stronger than his previous limb. The only part of his body that will not regrow is his head.

Vic's right arm has been severed at the shoulder in the past and is covered with the same carapace and spikes resembling horns on his head. The spikes that cover his head and right arm appear to be razor sharp and could be useful in combat. They do not contain any nerves and can be broken off without harming Vic. The claws that have appeared on his right hand as his arm regrew also appear to razor sharp and can be deadly in combat.

Vic's agility, balance, and coordination have been enhanced to peak human levels. He is able to perform acrobatic feats that normal humans would find extremely difficult to perform. His reaction time has also been enhanced to the point he can react twice as quick as that of a normal human. His strength appears to be slightly enhanced being able to lift 250 pounds with his normal arm. His right arm has greatly enhanced strength, but because of the lower strength of the rest of his body, it is nearly impossible to measure accurately without harming him. It has been surmised that his arm is capable of lifting around 7 tons.

Anole possesses the superhuman ability to alter his skin color and appearance enabling him to blend into that of any surface he stands against. The top layers of Vic's skin are transparent. He has cells underneath this skin that contain pigment. By increasing the size of certain pigment cells and decreasing the size of other pigment cells, Vic can change the color of his skin. This ability is not instantaneous and takes at least five seconds to activate.

Anole has the ability to stick to and climb walls or any substance. It was originally thought that like most lizards, Vic's hands and feet were covered with setae (tiny hooks or hairs), but this explanation wouldn't allow him to wallcrawl while wearing shoes or gloves like he normally does. In fact, he possesses an ability to manipulate the inter-atomic binding forces of matter which enable him to create temporary molecular bonds between his body and another object. This allows him to cling to solid surfaces and scale walls simply by putting his hands and feet on them.

Anole has an incredibly long prehensile forked tongue (longer than his own body length) which he can rapidly and abruptly extend out of his mouth. While this tongue is normally around six feet in length, he is capable of stretching it to ten feet. The tongue has a sticky tip on the end which serves to catch anything that he would otherwise never be able to reach. His tongue is prehensile and is slightly stronger than his normal strength. He can lift around 500 pounds with his tongue.

Abilities and Skills- Anole has become a formidable hand to hand combatant, after being trained by Wolverine as well as some of the other hand-to-hand combat masters at the Xavier Institute. Anole's first love has always been Theater, which has made him a very talented actor. This in turn led the student body of the Xavier Institute to vote him, 'Best Actor.' Vic is very active and loves sports, especially enjoying basketball and Frisbee. All students at the Institute are encouraged to learn a foreign language as part of their schooling and Vic has chosen to study French because of his mentor, Northstar.

WEAKNESS:

Vic's main weakness is his lack of defense. While the carapace on his head and arm are somewhat tougher than normal skin, they do not make him bulletproof, and of course it doesn't cover his entire body. Because of this, Anole has to rely on his superior agility and training to avoid being hit in combat. He also has few defenses against psychic abilities having taken only the basic classes on mental defenses.

Another weakness is the speed at which his regenerative healing factor works. It is possible if he's taken too much damage that he could bleed to death before he begins to heal. And of course he probably can't regrow his head, nor is he willing to try to find out if that is even possible.

Vic doesn't yet have complete control of his chameleon ability, and when distracted he sometimes changes colors according to his moods. Green for relaxed. Brown for hungry/illness. Yellow is agitated. Red is angry. Finally black indicates aggression.

PERSONALITY

At the very core of his being, Vic is a fun-loving happy person, rarely concerned about other people's prejudices and notions of how someone should act. He has a very quick, sarcastic wit, often making jokes at the expense of others. Those who know him are not bothered by this behavior, and they often try to give back as good he gets them. This good-natured ribbing is Vic's way of showing his affection for the people he truly cares about.

When around new people Vic always acts super-polite, like he's on a job interview, and he laughs at all the stupid jokes the new person tells. However Vic will never act disingenuous even to the point that he has a hard time keeping his feelings under control. On the rare occasions Vic and someone else has some bad feelings toward each other, he will most likely try to talk to them in order to prevent any long term grudges cropping up between them.

Vic is very passionate about the things he considers important. These include fighting against discrimination and prejudice which he's experienced in his lifetime. While he feels that some changes will be made during his life, he really feels it important to leave the world a better place for the next generation. He can also become very focused and competitive when trying to obtain these goals.
Lately Vic has been distracted. He will be getting his diploma this year, and he is unsure about his future. He doesn't know if he'll be staying and trying to become an X-Man, returning to Illinois to go to college, moving to New York City to go to college there, or maybe even joining SHIELD.

HISTORY: PRE-APOCALYPSE

Victor was born at St. James Hospital in Pontiac, Illinois. Their mutant reptilian baby was a huge surprise to the Borkowskis, but Vic's parents had been trying for so long to have a child, and believing they would never have one, instantly fell in love with him. Vic's strange appearance earned him many surprised looks from the hospital staff, but his parents didn't seem to notice.

The good people of Fairbury while initially shocked at his appearance eventually grew to accept Vic as one of their own. Like most small communities Fairbury had a pack mentality, it didn't really matter who you were, but once accepted, you were one of them, and woe unto those outsiders who attacked one of their own.

Vic's childhood was relatively normal. He attended school, played at the park with his friends, and did chores for his parents. He especially enjoyed the class plays each grade would give at the end of the year. From those plays came Vic's love of the theater. The only real sour spot was being banned from league sports because of the idiotic rules against players with mutations. He more than made up for this by being better than even some of the older players on the park's basketball courts.

But for every dawn there is a setting of the sun, and Vic's idyllic childhood was about to end. Just up the road, Apocalypse's Forces of Famine were gathering, and the quiet town of Fairbury was to be their next target.

DURING APOCALYPSE (April 7th through April 12th, 2009)

It was on April 7th that everything started to change for Vic. A strange storm blew through town causing minor amounts of destruction. Trees where blown over, limbs fell on cars, and debris was scattered all around. Whatever the storm was it had also taken out phone lines and cell towers leaving the entire town with no way to communicate with those outside of their community. There was also a stench that had settled over the town. Many people had thought a sewer main had been busted, but this was something worse. It was the smell of death and decay, and it was getting stronger.

On the 9th, the town got to see what that stench was foreshadowing. A huge mass of what was once humanity was moving towards their town. The townspeople gathered at the edge of town to see, and were shocked by the vision approaching them. The mob moving towards their town was a mockery of humankind. They were filthy, covered in boils and scabs, and all of them were thin to the point of being skeletal. They watched while a few of them veered off from the main mob to attack a cow in a nearby field and try to devour it alive, but something was keeping them from eating it. They seemed to look at it with frustration and hate. That was all it took to make the townspeople flee from the oncoming horde.

When word reached the Borkowski household, Vic and his parents gathered up some stuff they'd need and fled to the high school with the rest of the town. 13-year-old Vic was lagging a little behind his parents when he heard a screeching noise behind him. He turned to look. A farmer driving an old pickup had lost control due to the swarm of famine afflicted clinging to his truck and was headed straight for Vic. With a loud crunch and a wet pop, the truck hit him pinning his right arm between its grill and the high school sign.

Vic then fell to the ground. He looked over and saw that the metal from the fender and the sign had neatly scissored his right arm off. Then it seemed as if his vision stretched out and he was looking at his shoulder from down a long tunnel. He could feel someone grab him and pull on him, but he couldn't seem to focus and see who was doing that. He tried to tell them to leave him alone but blackness flooded his vision and Vic passed out.

He woke up two days later lying on a cot in the high school gym. The first thing he noticed was his arm had almost grown all the way back. It was a weird translucent color like the skin wasn't fully formed, and it definitely seemed bigger, but there it was.

Vic discovered that the town had managed to fight off the famine afflicted. The entire town seemed to be crouched down at the high school, waiting for help in the form of the military to arrive. They eventually were rescued but the town had taken a brutal hit.

POST-APOCALYPSE

Things seemed to change in town after that. Fairbury had lost its innocence. The people that had once been so clannish now looked at their neighbors with suspicion. People that had once been his friends and neighbors now gave Vic frightened glances. This worried his parents to no end, and they decided to send Vic away in order to keep him safe.

They began looking at boarding schools for Vic, but not many were willing to take a mutant as a student. They found a few promising schools in the New York City area, and decided to go check them out. Unfortunately none of those schools checked out either.

While leaving the last school, they were approached by a security guard. The guard explained to them that he had overheard them discussing finding a school for their mutant son. He told them that a cousin of his worked at a school in upstate New York, and this school catered exclusively to mutant children. He gave them the name of the school as Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters.

The Borkowskis managed to get an appointment to visit the school, and fell in love with the place. After getting Vic registered, his parents wasted little time getting his things packed and taking him to the school. At first he thought he was somehow being punished, but eventually Vic become attached to the Institute.

It was during this time that Vic, with the help of the staff and some of the students, came to terms with his sexuality. It was during the Christmas break 2009 that Vic finally told his parents he was gay. Much to his surprise, his parents were very accepting of the fact and didn't really seem to mind. All they really wanted was for their son to be happy.

During the following year, Vic noticed people were acting funny. It was almost like someone had flipped a switch in their brains. He soon found out that people where switching with their counterparts in another dimension. But Vic didn't seem to have a counterpart. He discovered that his counterpart in this other world had died from injuries suffered during Apocalypse.

Through the combined efforts of the X-Men and their dark counterparts, the villain Onslaught was defeated and everything was put right. Thus ended the World Without Xavier.

PURIFIERS

2010 ended and 2011 would bring even harder challenges for the Institute and the X-Men. The year started with the election of NYC's new mayor, Matthew Risman. Mayor Risman seemed to waste little time to start spewing his anti-mutant hate rhetoric.

It didn't take very long for the residents of Mutant Town become enraged with the new Mayor leading to what has become labeled as the Night of Broken Glass. Vic couldn't help but feel useless and frustrated because he could only watch as the riots broke out. A few days later, a near riot broke out at a museum as Vic and his fellow classmates were accosted by several mutant-hating bigots. Luckily cooler heads prevailed and managed to deflect the situation.

Things quickly went from bad to worse as the Church of Humanity led by their prophet, William Stryker, attacked the charitable organization, X-Corps, in Mutant Town. Nearly one hundred die at the hands of the Purifiers. Within a few days, Mayor Risman declares martial law in Mutant town. Just as quickly Wanda Maximoff places an unbreakable dome over Mutant Town in an effort to protect its citizens.

Vic would soon get his chance to help, and on the ten year anniversary of the 911 attacks. He remembers playing basketball on the outside courts when an explosion ripped apart the school. He got up and rushed to the school. Using the super-strength of his right arm, Vic helped move debris and pull people out. Unbelievably both the Brotherhood and the Hellfire Club showed up to help with the injured.

Then the Purifiers attacked. While the heavy hitters took the brunt of the battle, Vic hung back and used his combat training to help defend the makeshift triage. It was a viscous battle and in the end 47 students and 157 Purifiers lost their lives. The entire school was in shock. What now? Where would they go?

Vic leaves with the rest of the school as Scott Summers decides to evacuate to a temple in the Savage Land he's dubbed Utopia. His emotions leave him conflicted as he is both happy and a little sad that the Brotherhood and the Hellfire Club make quick work of what is left of the Purifiers. While he is bothered by the loss of life, he can't help but feel that the Purifiers had it coming.

SKRULLS

Still in shock, Vic and the rest began setting up their new home in an effort to distract themselves. But even here they are far from immune to attacks. Strange things begin to happen as things are broken, stolen, and we're attacked by strange creatures. Possibly the strangest thing of all, Utopia's shields go forcing the X-Men into lock-down mode.

Then the worst happens as Marrow is infected by the Brood and becomes the Brood Queen. Outside Utopia, the Earth is attack by the Skrulls. Will the two end up fighting each other?

The Brood Queen attacks Utopia and infects many of the X-Men and students including Vic. Using Danger the X-Men create their own hive mind to protect those infected from turning. The Brood attack Utopia and once again Vic is pressed into service defending the younger students from harm. Finally good old reliable Hank McCoy comes up with a cure that rids them of the infection. Just in time too.

As the Complacency Device is destroyed, the fliers spread the Cure around the globe thus ridding the Skrull of the Brood Infection. It seems the world has danced close to the edge of disaster once again, but how long til the next cliff comes along?

CURRENT HISTORY

2013 starts out with good news, the rebuilding of the Institute is nearing completion and is almost ready to move into! Vic is relieved to finally be leaving the jungle of the Savage Land. At the start of February the Institute is finally open once again. Vic couldn't believe how much he had actually missed the school. Wandering around the halls once again filled him with a warmth and happiness, and certainly a small amount of security.

It doesn't take long, however, for that feeling of security to go away. Rumors began to make their way around the grapevine about Scott Summers and Emma Frost. Once again a field trip Vic takes with his fellow students goes wrong when Iron Man attacks, but somehow the X-Men were ready for him. This leads Vic to consider the idea that maybe they were being used as bait, and this troubles him to no end.

He doesn't have long to worry about that as Spiral unleashes her madbomb attacks on several major cities. It causes many to the depths of rage and destruction, but this attack is eventually thwarted.

Then the unthinkable happens. Scott is murdered in his own home. The news crushes Vic's spirit and casts a palpable gloom over the entire school. Vic attends the funeral services but gains little comfort from it.

Less than a month later, Spiral begins #killyourheroes by uploading a video showing her shooting Daredevil in the head. Spiral demands that people kill the heroes or a gigantic bomb will detonated. Vic is horrified and wants to hunt the bitch down himself. But cooler heads prevail and he is talked out of his headstrong course of action.

In reaction to this grisly announcement, Prodigy uses his powers to take over the school and haywire the security system. He is quickly brought down at the cost of destroying the security system. As one of the senior students, Vic is pressed into service to help patrol the grounds. And of course SHIELD arrives to help protect us (late as usual).

A week later word reaches the school, Scott Summers is alive! But he seems to be working for the Hand. Vic is stunned by this news. If the best of them could be forced to work for the enemy, what chance would someone like him have?
Vic feels helpless as more mutants taken and become assassins of the Hand. First Siryn, then Druid, next is Surge, then Nightcrawler, and finally one of Vic's personal heroes is taken, Northstar. These are some major hitters and their taking fills Vic with dread about what is to come.

And he is right to dread. News reaches the school that the Dark X-Men have attacked several places around the globe and mutating the people there. Some are taken into the Dark X-Men as soldiers, others are left with horrific mutations.

Vic, having attended Xavier's for the last four years, can see this coming. The Dark X-Men attack Xavier's Institute! (Surprise!) Vic, with a few other students, help defend the younger students. They barely manage to fight off the few Hand assassins that come after them. In the midst of this battle something changes and Scott is set free from his enslavement. Vic is filled with new hope as Cyclops single-handedly fights off the Hand.

But they are not given much rest as Cyclops' and Havok's mad brother Vulcan forces volcanoes to erupt across the world. Vic pitches in to help those in the vicinity of the school reach safety. The attacks are eventually thwarted.

The Illuminati's final plan is revealed as the Phoenix is released from the M'kraan Crystal. Each member takes a sliver of the Phoenix and begins their rampage. Again Vic is forced to watch from the sidelines as gradually each member of the Illuminati is defeated and their Phoenix Shard taken from them. Each shard is released to Jean Grey. Vic can't help but feel elated when he discovers that Jean Grey is in control of the Phoenix. Finally someone in control of a powerful force that isn't cuckoo in the head!

As 2013 draws to a close and 2014 begins, Vic now has some personal decisions to make. In June 2014, he'll be receiving his diploma, but he doesn't know what to do after that. Will he stay and join the X-Men? Will he return to Fairbury, Illinois? Will he move to New York City and start college? He's even fleetingly considered joining SHIELD.

SAMPLE RP POST:

Vic shivered a little at the cold as he made his way down to the basketball courts. It was maybe too cold to play on the outside courts but he didn't care. He had a lot on his mind, and maybe taking a few shots or getting in a pick-up game would distract him for a little while.

He looked around at the school grounds. A lot had happened to him in the almost five years since he came here. The place had even been completely destroyed once. He gave a little shiver as he remembered the horrors that had followed Nate Rivette's suicide attack. He stopped walking. People had died here. Good people. Friends of his.

He thought back to that horrible day. The bomb had gone off, and they were busy setting up a triage in the outdoor recreation center. He was trying to help out, digging people out of the rubble and helping move them to the triage.

Then the Purifiers attacked! One of the X-Men yelled at him to go help defend the wounded. He quickly ran down to the triage and took up a position to watch for Purifiers.

Vic was shivering from the fear and adrenaline. Maybe if he was a normal human he'd be sweating too. Instead his skin had shifted to a yellow color due to the stress he was feeling. Concentrating, he managed to shift his color back to its normal green color.

He was brought back to reality as bullets chewed up the ground at his feet. Without thinking, he dove behind a bench. Oh my god...they're shooting at me! He thought as he tumbled out of the way. His heart was pounding as he peeked up over the bench. There were two of them. One was headed his way, the other was headed to the students laid out on stretchers.

Time to...uh...whatever, he thought. Vic leapt over the bench, and ran for the Purifier headed his way. He executed a foot first slide into the Purifier. His right foot connected with the Purifier's knee, and with a wet pop, dislocated it. As he fell, Vic came up with vicious right uppercut, knocking him out. I did it, he thought.

Vic looked around searching for the other Purifier. He was approaching a kid on a stretcher, getting ready to shot. Vic ran, but he knew he wouldn't make it in time. Spying a basketball laying nearby, Vic snagged it with his tongue and used his wallcrawling ability to palm it in his bigger, stronger right hand. He screamed incoherently at the Purifier as he throw the basketball with all his strength. The Purifier turned to look at him as it slammed into his face. There was a crack as bone broke and then blood sprayed onto the basketball. The Purifier crumpled to the ground.

Vic managed to catch the basketball as he rushed over to the Purifier. He looked over at the kid on the stretcher. He was a pale kid with blue hair. He sort of looked like an anime character. He held up the basketball and yelled, "this is my house!"

He laughed at the memory of that idiotic statement. He continued down to the courts. There were a few people there. He stopped and set down the water bottle he'd brought.

A familiar voice rang out from across the court. "Oh, look! It's Vic! You come to get beat again?" The other kid was laughing as Vic turned to look at him. He still looked like an anime character, but he was a lot taller now.

He yelled back at him, "don't bring that attitude in here! This is still my house, Mikey!" Vic laughed as he tossed his brown stained basketball to Mikey.

Had a quick talk with the player on AIM and clarified that Anole will be starting as a senior level student, then either graduating up or moving on someplace new (like SHIELD etc.)

Andy, good job on the app and please post in the list updater and ask if you need help getting started.
