May 11th, Central Park, the Stark Expo
9AM

The sign ups at the school hadn’t gotten quite the amount of interested students Sarah had hoped for, but it was just as easy for her to chaperone a small group. The Stark Expo was a grand event, big and loud and filled with activities. Not just of the intellectual type, but with rides and a true carnival atmosphere. There were only a few students who’d decided to come, and of course Piotr had volunteered to come along when she’d asked for someone else to come. It was bright and early when she’d gathered them all up and shoved them into her renovated http://www.vw-samba.co.uk/images/21_window..._bus_cool_8.jpg]VW bus. The purple vehicle matched the Box robot currently taking up a corner of her room in the school. Waiting to make sure everyone was buckled up into the comfortable seats, Sarah set off.

They arrived at the Expo early, driving in a few circles in the search of a place to park before finally pulling in. Spinning in the driver’s seat to look at the other people in the car, she made sure each of them had a cell phone on them – linking to each one, programming her phone number into them all. It would be simple enough for her find any of them if they wandered off, simply through her link to their phone.

“Alright, you guys know the deal. No wandering off on your own – I know it’ll be hard, but we’ve got plenty of time. If there’s something specific you want to see, we’ll work it in. I’ve got money to buy us all lunch, and dinner if we decide to stay that long.” Grinning, Sarah slid out of the van, waiting for everyone else to get out before locking it up. “My number is in all your phones, so if you get lost, call me and I’ll find you.” Grinning and glancing at Piotr, she shrugged. “Of course, if you get lost and can’t seem to spot Piotr from wherever you are, I expect a really good explanation. Or at least a really entertaining one.” She wasn’t really a stickler for rules – and let’s face it, no matter where they wandered off, they’d be surrounded by technology here. There was no way Sarah wasn’t going to find them.

Hell, even from this distance, she could hear the small binary voices of the technology filling Central Park. Every acre was filled with tech of all sorts, from carnival rides and games, to the brilliant displays of new and improved technology. It was like candyland for the technopath. The kids with her would be lucky if she didn’t go wandering off and leave them to find her. She had to remind herself that starting tomorrow she’d be at the expo for the next six days. She’d already made plans to stay in the city in order to be closer to the Park and not have to drive so far.

“Okay then, anyone have any requests?” Slinging the brown leather backpack onto her shoulders, she led the way towards the park.

The Stark Expo was an event that Paras had heard about before, but never paid any sort of attention to. People that his father did business with had presented at past functions, but never did it concern him. But now that he was older and studying Sociology at the Institute, he found himself curious about the whole ordeal. Paras, like any other young adult male his age, was into video games and some of the cool technology that had come out over the past few years, but he was not big into like most. His reason for signing up for the little trip to the Expo was not one of technological curiosity, but social. He wanted to see how people behaved at such an event, see how the minds of geniuses and enthusiastic fans and employees operated. There was also the added bonus of there being carnival food and rides. He always loved going to carnivals with his siblings back in Mumbai.

It was an early trip out into the main city. Having grown used to being up before eight Paras was full of energy for the trip to Central Park. Finally he would get to really take in the beautiful place in the middle of New York without there being some kind of threat looming over head. He had been in America for almost a year now, and there was still plenty of stuff for him to take in in the city. Once the crew arrived at their destination, the resident member of the Legacy Squad laid out the basics of the trip. Paras was an adult, been through the motions of what to and what not to do when he was younger. It was the same no matter where one went. Safety was universal. “I’ll follow your leader,” he said to Sarah. There wasn’t any specific area that he was itching to see. It all looked to be entertaining.

Even at this hour in the morning the park was full of life. He could hear the people and the music from the rides and games. At night the place was going to look fantastic with all of the bright lights and fireworks going off in the sky. He could picture it already. Paras, with hands in his pockets strolled along behind the others, taking in the sights from their position in the parking area. He noticed the big, white railing off in the distance and became somewhat excited. He had only been a rollercoaster twice before, so it was a must that he give this one a go around. “This is going to be amazing.”

Light filtered through half closed windows to light up the double tree room. It was silent save for the soft sounds of sleep coming from the man who was sprawled across the bed in the middle of the room. There weren't many nights spent drinking as much as he had last night, but God weren't they fun every now and then. The peace wasn't to last however. At 7 AM on May 8th, Jim's phone had vibrated enough to pull its owner out of a half-drunken slumber. Groping across the table next to his hotel bed, Jim sat himself up enough to squint at the glowing screen and open the next message.

Hey Jimmy! This is Sarah. So, I'm going to the Stark Expo with some students on the 11th, and I wanted to invite you to stop doing.. whatever you're doing and come and have fun!

A multitude of questions hit him the moment he had fully processed the text. First of all, how the hell had she gotten his number? She's a technopath, don't question it. Stark Expo? Wasn't that a technology convention? Well, its also a carnival kind of thing. Isn't that in a few days? I could make it to New York in that amount of time. However, regardless of any thoughts he had on the matter, the main one was that his head hurt and that he wanted to go back to bed. He locked the phone and put it on silent before placing it back haphazardly and flopped back into the bed with a low groan before he was out like a light once again. He hadn't given it too much thought since, but as he made his way northward, Jim found himself planning around being in New York for the 11th. Surely it wouldn't hurt to stick around. He was planning on going back to the mansion soon anyways. So on the morning of May 11th, Jim (finally) texted Sarah back with a Meet you at the front gate.

So, in the early hours of the day, Jim stood at the park with a hat on his head, boots on his feet and waited. It was almost overwhelming, the entire situation. Thousands upon thousands of people talking, the sound of mechanics and screaming and the city sounds all on top of it, not to mention all the smells and already flashing lights. It made for a slightly distracting environment, all in all. He was looking for Sarah, although some of the other students wouldn't be too hard to find. However, it wasn't Sarah that caught Jim's attention amongst the crowd out people. No, it was the large man who accompanied her. The nice thing about Piotr was that he was easily spotted in a crowd. Advantages of being tall. Pushing the front brim of his hat up a little he waited to make eye contact with the Russian before nodding and making his way through the crowd to the small group of Sarah and 3 others. He nodded at Piotr again before looking down at Sarah.

"Alright, so what's the plan?"

The Stark Expo was kind of a big deal. People might look at Piotr and think that he wasn't one to truly appreciate a science fair, but to those people, Piotr scoffed. The Expo wasn't just a science fair. It was as if someone too a science fair and a carnival and a movie awards show and a party and hosted them all at the same time in the same place. To say no to an opportunity to see wonders of the modern age was to deny yourself an experience of a lifetime.

So when Network's sign up sheet had been put up, he'd immediately signed as a chaperone. Unfortunately there weren't many students who seemed to share his enthusiasm, but that was fine. That just meant more time for those who were going to have fun. Everyone bundled into Sarah's cute but tiny, emphasis on tiny, van, and they made their way into the city proper, Piotr's head pressed against the roof even in his powered down form.

"Alright, you guys know the deal. No wandering off on your own... I’ve got money to buy us all lunch, and dinner if we decide to stay that long.” Grinning right along with her, Piotr exited the van, finally free of its confining space, and looked at the spectacle in front of him.

“My number is in all your phones," hmm, so it was, Piotr noticed as he switched his phone on. Then went through the memorized sequence to change the language back to English from Urdu. He'd had to practice doing that, because certain technopaths seemed to find it a funny joke. "so if you get lost, call me... Of course, if you get lost and can’t seem to spot Piotr from wherever you are, I expect a really good explanation... Okay then, anyone have any requests?” he moved so as not to be hit by the swinging brown leather backpack Sarah had, then followed behind her.

"Just as long as we hit the coasters, I'll be happy."

“This is going to be amazing.” Paras, the purple kid who could make armor, echoed Piotr's own feelings, and the metal mutant nodded in turn.

"Maybe we'll even get to see what that Silvercloud man on the pamphlet is presenting. That's to be today, right?"

Then, through one of the many advantages of being tall, Piotr made eye contact with the a friendly face wearing a hat.

"Jimmy!" Piotr waved the man over, a smile reaching his lips at seeing his fellow giant.

"Alright, so what's the plan?"

"We're gonna buy you a lot of carnival food and put you on a roller coaster. See how long it takes you to lose your lunch." The Russian joked.

She’d expected more interest in this trip. Maybe she should have pointed out the fact that there was a carnival – that might’ve gotten more attention. Instead, this had turned into more of an adult field trip. Well, that could work too. Paras had decided to forgo the use of a holo-watch, opting to maintain his incredibly purple appearance. Sarah didn’t mind, since purple was her favorite color, and she could certainly understand his desire not to hide. That didn’t meant she wasn’t prepared. A holo-watch was in her purse, already tuned to a preset disguise for him if necessary. Grinning after her spiel, Sarah shrugged.

“Well, in this case, I guess ‘don’t get lost’ really just means ‘don’t miss your ride back to the school’. So otherwise, feel free to have fun.” Paras and Piotr both decided to follow her lead, and she noticed the interested look on Paras’ face at seeing the roller coaster. Smiling, she looked around, grinning brightly as she saw Jimmy making his way towards them, waving first at Piotr, who was noticeable by his height alone. Sarah instantly felt even shorter, despite the slight heel on her boots, but she grinned up at him.

“Glad you could make it!” the brunette snickered at Piotr’s decision on what to do, shaking her head at the tall Russian. “No way, if any of you embarrass me by puking on a ride, I’m leaving your asses here to rot.” She had a reputation among the technology oriented to protect, after all. Shrugging at them, she scanned the areas she could see, before arching a curious brow at Piotr.

“I’m not sure if Mr. Silvercloud’s presentation is today or not – I didn’t know you were interested in cybernetics. If he is presenting today, I’ll drag you all with me…Or leave you all behind. Either way.” The technopath grinned at them, completely unashamed of the fact that she had every intention of seeing the presentation. After all, while she was here to have fun, she was also here to further her education. Shifting her bag on her shoulders slightly, she looked towards the rides, glancing at the three of them with a smile.

“I’m gonna say we start with rides, since I think the presenters start a bit later. Nothing better than a roller coaster to wake you up in the morning, right?” Better than a coffee, and since her hair was already in a braid there was no time like the present to mess it up with extreme gusts of wind. Deciding that walking in the direction of the rides would at least be better than standing there discussing it, she led the way, eyes darting every which way as she listened to the tiny technological voices around her.

"Just as long as we hit the coasters, I'll be happy."

“I am with you on that,” said Paras. Before leaving he hadn’t really looked over the guests that would be speaking at the Expo for the next few days, something that he probably should have done. While at the park he was going to make sure to pick up a brochure to check out all of the names of those presenting new and incredible ideas. The name Silvercloud sounded familiar, but he wasn’t too certain who the man was or what he did. There was going to be a lot of braniacs displaying their blessed talents. Paras was curious to see what would be brought into the world of tomorrow today and how it all would affect people as a whole. Hopefully his socially tuned mind wouldn’t be overwhelmed by any techno-babble the brochure might be laden with. If that proved to be the case it was a good thing that Sarah was around to guide him through it.

As they got closer a familiar face attached to a massive frame approached them and was greeted by the other giant. “James, it’s good to see you,” he said then nodded. At this point Sarah must have felt like she was being escorted by personal bodyguards. Though he was still nowhere near the height of Piotr and James, the three of them had to look down to speak with her. It was a somewhat amusing sight to behold. When Piotr mentioned food Paras wondered what kind the Expo had to offer. He was sure that the majority of it would be inedible for him, but it was New York City, a progressive city. There was bound to be a vegan food vendor stationed somewhere. Although his eating habits were not as strict, veganism was the sure route to food he could eat without worry. But for now, the light breakfast he had before leaving was doing its job.

“You will get no argument from me. I find cybernetics to be an interesting field of study.” A friend of the Gavaskar family had a company that dealt with cybernetics so he had been familiarized with the concept long before coming to the Xavier Institute where it was like a playground for technology. As the small group ventured further he eyed the set of rides to his left. “Wait. Can you guys hear that?” He stopped to listen. “The Tilt-A-Whirl… it’s calling my name.” Paras grinned. “I must heed the call.” He made a beeline for the indicated ride. It was kind of funny. Sarah probably actually could hear it.

Tessa had gotten up early and arrived at Central Park at around 7 AM. Though her presentation was not for another day or so, she still had a booth set up that was meant to advertise her product. She had hired several local teenagers, all who seemed pretty standard in their understanding of computer products, and allowed them to be the ones who showed off what her new processors were capable of. She did this so that it could be seen that the average person could do it, so that it would appeal to younger people, and so that it could be seen that it was affordable even for those with low incomes.

Her booth had several areas set up, demoing the power of her processors. There were several computers set up, where the hired teens were showing off the latest games and applications, which were running ultra smoothly and in high definition. There were several modern smart phones, all of which were running on the same processors that were in the computers, allowing them to run full operating systems comparable to their computer counter-parts. Then there were tablets and other devices. On the surface, it would be hard to tell a difference since Tessa was using her processor in devices that people were already familiar with... but those that were in the know would immediately tell a difference. Long story short, it was big news that a cheap nano-sized processor was being released that held the power that modern super-computers fell short of matching.

The Black Queen was not continuously present at her booth though. She did not speak much on her product, but instead she was saving that for her presentation. Most of her time was spent moving around the park, looking at other exhibits and being a pleasant face among the crowd. The crowd. It was a mix of socialites who were looking to invest, tourists who came just for the Expo and then those who wandered in off of the streets of New York. There were few who Tessa spoke to and truly, she looked out of place among the masses, due to her Queenly appearance. There was a glow to her skin, a shine to her hair, and a scent that followed her that only massive wealth could provide to a person.

Despite this, she attempted to dress down to match the clothing styles in the crowd. She was no expert on fashion, unlike her super-model friend Betsy Braddock, but she managed with the help of some of the more stylish pawns. If it were up to her, she would wear simple black garments such as a plain dress or blouse. But since her appearance was financed by the Hellfire Club, Tessa was wearing a Valentino black dress and a pair of black Versace flats. This outfit was meant to be casual and to fit in with those around her, by dressing plain and so that she didn't stick out like a sore thumb.

Sage finished at one booth and began walked along the pathway, both arms behind her back and she held her wrist with one hand. It was a cool morning and a breeze blew through the park, taking away the awful smells of the city and replacing it with fresh air. She looked at those that past, her interest in them only remaining until she passed them by, and then her eyes wandered elsewhere. There might have even been a hint of a smile on her usually emotionless face, due to the peace that she had felt since the Illuminati had met their demise.

It was during this time that Sage felt something shift in the air around her. She paused mid-step and her dark brown eyes changed, hinted with a red glimmer that would not be noticeable unless someone looked directly into them. As she looked around her, the world around her lit up with the light of the living beings around her. The traces of electricity that fired within their heart and circulated through their active minds as thoughts were being processed became visible to her. More than that, the electrical currents and other signals that flooded New York City came alive in her eyes, glowing a red as she looked upon them.

In most cases, these currents and signals were focused in different directions, depending on their usage and where they were meant to be. Also, they came naturally to her, her technopathic talents making her a beacon for the currents and signals to travel through. But today, at this moment, the currents were moving differently. They were focused elsewhere, aiming towards a point within the park that was near the entrance.

Intrigued, Sage calmly walked through the crowd and towards the entrance of the Expo, where many people parked and came to join in on the fun. It did not take her long to find the disturbance. As she neared, she saw a tall man that she identified as Piotr Rasputin, also known as Colossus of the X-men. Coming closer still, she saw others that she recognized from the mansion. James Proudstar, known as Warpath. Paras Gavascar, also known as Indra. Then there was the source of the disturbance, a young woman named Sarah Vale, also known as Network.

Sage approached the group, her eyes locked onto Sarah as she read the girl's genetic coding and assessed her X-gene. To Sarah, it might appear that Tessa was staring at her as she walked closer, the only hint of her power usage being the red glimmer in her eye. But the sparkle in her eye faded and her eyes seemed to focus in on the girl as Sage came within a couple feet of the girl and looked down at the shorter mutant.

“Hello Sarah Vale,” Tessa said, that hint of a smile staying on her face. She then looked up to the others and a more appropriate smile came to her face as she nodded to them all. “James Proudstar. Piotr Rasputin. Paras,” she paused as the young man took off for one of the rides. “Hello to you all. I'm glad that you have come out to the Expo, it makes me feel safe to know that X-men are here.”

Sage was very forward and not particularly polite, though she was not impolite either. She spoke to people that she did not know in a certain way, but she certainly did not mean to be disrespectful. Despite her physical beauty, she had the habit of being off-putting by her robotic nature. It took a person time in order to break through that and to see that she was capable of emotion. Still, she smiled. So there was that.

“I could not help but to overhear the name Silvercloud,” Tessa continued, looking between them all before her eyes settled upon Network. “He is a brilliant man, if you have not ever met him.”

Pete, that wouldn't happen a thousand years. But if it does, I know to throw up on you now." He smirked teasingly at the group before nodding at Paras in greeting, then turning his attention to Sarah. "Well when you asked so nicely, how could I not?" It was a bit of a motley crew, but looked like it could be a good time. Roller Coasters seemed like a good time, and even a few of the presentations or booths sparked interest. There was just so much to tackle. Half listening to the banter between the group, Jim felt something was... Off.

Not dangerous per say, but it was enough to pull his attention back away completely from the talk and he turned, casting a look around them. It took a moment, but he found who he was looking for. He couldn't say he knew her well, but the Black Queen was still familiar. And she was headed their way. Oh joy. Turning back to face the group, he opened his mouth to speak when she was finally there. She greeted them in turn and paused after Paras went off towards a ride. "Hello."

Impolite wasn't the correct word for his air towards her, Jim was far too tense for that. He didn't trust her, wasn't a huge fan of the entire HFC and wasn't entirely comfortable with the fact that of all the people in the expo, Sage had seemingly sought them. Or maybe he was just being overly suspicious. Either way, it put the Apache on the edge. He shifted his weight back and watched her warily, looking occasionally at Sarah or Piotr. Silvercloud... Sounded familiar, but he couldn't put a face to the name. Although he had a feeling that was going to change here soon enough.

"Pete, that wouldn't happen a thousand years. But if it does, I know to throw up on you now."

"No way, if any of you embarrass me by puking on a ride, I’m leaving your asses here to rot.”
They all had a laugh at that, and fell into step with Sarah. This was going to be a good day, Piotr figured. Nothing was big enough to ruin this event other than planet wide destruction.

"Are you kidding? I might not be smart enough to understand the science behind cybernetics, but I've seen the Robocop and Terminator franchises enough to get interested in a technology that can make a crippled man feel whole again. To one day have missing limbs, and the next have replacements that are even stronger. Aside from the cars and the rides, this is probably going to be one of the best presentations."

“You will get no argument from me... Wait... The Tilt-A-Whirl… it’s calling my name.” Paras grinned as he ran of toward the coasters. Piotr laughed and waved to the younger man, about to follow after him, when he recognized an unfamiliar voice next to where the soviet stood was addressing their party, greeting them by name. Not to be rude, the metal mutant turned to see a face that was more recognizable than her voice. Colossus didn't deal with her as much as he had the rest of her court, but Piotr remembered the face of the Hellfire Club's Black Queen.

“Hello... it makes me feel safe to know that X-men are here.”

"Zdravstvuyte, ya dobroe utro, krasivaya sestra."[1] Piotr replied, using the polite greeting his father had taught him long ago. Of course, most of the time his father had used that particular greeting, it had been toward a woman he'd not especially liked to be in the company of, but that was neither here nor there for the situation the large Siberian found himself currently in.

“I could not help but to overhear ... He is a brilliant man, if you have not ever met him.”

Deciding that the presence of a member of the Hellfire Club was not reason enough to ruin his mood, Piotr nudged Jimmy to ease up, and smiled at the lovely small woman.

"That is good news, at least now we all know that our party will certainly be more than impressed at his presentation. Are you also here to make one?"

Why she hadn’t considered inviting some normal sized people on this trip, she’d never know. Her height wasn’t really that short, or so she hadn’t ever really thought. But right now, she was feeling much shorter than her actual five feet, almost six inches. Her boots did little to close the gap, and as they started walking, Paras was right – she felt like she had an entourage. A really noticeable one. No one seemed to have any issue with the idea of seeing Forge’s presentation, should it be that day, which was good. They walked for a few minutes, before Paras suddenly stopped. Looking around in confusion, Sarah blinked at him, finally grinning at the mention of the Tilt-a-Whirl and his sudden dash for the ride.

Piotr and Jimmy joked around about the rides, and Sarah rolled her eyes at the two giants, grinning brightly at Jimmy’s response to her. She was glad he’d managed to make it – when she’d texted him a few days before, she had half expected not to get a reply. Piotr’s movie references caused Sarah to glance up at him with an almost absent-minded look on her face, a bit distracted even as she spoke.

“Actually, Terminator was a robot completely, no human parts, only synthetic skin. Not to mention, he was a bad guy.” The brunette geek pointed out, finally glancing around as she felt a…Disturbance. If it could be called that. More like a connection, really. The tech in the area had reached out, and not just to her, and she knew that feeling. It didn’t take long to notice the approaching Black Queen, dressed to impress. Sage was homing in on her like she was a beacon, which she supposed she was, to the other technopath. She could feel Sage’s presence registering with every technological device in the area, much like her own powers were doing. But Sage’s approach was quite direct, and for a moment, Sarah met the woman’s eyes without a hint of the shy, quiet girl she tended to be in public.

Then Tessa spoke, and Sarah smiled brightly at the taller woman, seemingly disregarding the rather uncomfortable feeling that Sage had been…assessing her. Oh, it didn’t slip her mind, of course. But as Sage said everyone’s names, Sarah noticed that beside her, Jimmy had tensed up. Even Piotr seemed a bit tense for a moment. Oh boy…Maybe she should have mentioned to them that she’d pretty much planned to find Sage at some point during the Expo. Sage’s quick divination of her location simply saved her the trouble. Of course, Jimmy and Piotr didn’t know that. Glancing at the two large men, Sarah quickly turned a bright smile, fit for a hostess, at Sage.

“Miss Ayasli, it’s a pleasure to see you again.” She said it with enough propriety that she felt like it might’ve fit if she’d chosen to simply bow, like the lackeys at the Hellfire Club did. The thought almost made her giggle. Instead, she shook her head slightly at the mention of the X-Men, glancing over the Expo. “Ah, we’re just here to enjoy the spectacle. I was hoping I’d run into you here, I’m glad you managed to find me.” She said it mainly for Jimmy and Piotr’s benefits, straightening a bit and smiling at Sage’s mention of Silvercloud.

“I actually have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Silvercloud once before, although it was a very short meeting. I’m hoping I’ll have the chance to talk to him during the expo at some point.” Sarah didn’t feel the need to elaborate on just how she’d met the White King, but at Piotr’s question the brunette gave a surprised look, finally stepped forward between Sage and the two men.

“Ah, I’m being rude. Piotr, James, this is Tessa Ayasli, CEO of Sage Enterprises. She’s one of the presenters at the expo, I believe her presentation is on Nanoscale Microfrabrications, if I’m not mistaken.” She wasn’t mistaken, of course, but she was being polite. Turning to Sage with a bright smile, she spoke again. “I was hoping I’d see you – I wanted to congratulate you on the introduction of your new processors. I’ve heard they’re incredible, and I can’t wait to see your presentation. I’m going to be stopping by one of your booths later, of course.” The young woman was genuine in her congratulations, because it was big news, both for the world and for Sage’s company, of course. She couldn’t wait to get her hands on some of the processors herself.

The look she gave Jimmy was almost apologetic, since he seemed to be the most concerned with Sage’s sudden attention to them. She’d have to apologize later for not warning them. For a moment, she tried to think of who else she might run into while there, but that was a long list and it took too much time to consider. After a moment, she looked at Sage, sweeping a quick but impressed look over the older woman’s dress. “That is a gorgeous dress, Miss Ayasli, I have to say.” God, but she felt like a bit of a slob, in her comfortably worn dark jeans, dark red blouse, and black boots, hair pulled into a messy side braid. Of course, she could expect nothing less than perfection from the Black Queen. And to her credit, not a bit of her insecurity showed on her face.

Of course Tessa noticed the reaction of Warpath. It was a less than friendly welcome and his greeting felt cold and hollow. That type of reaction was to be expected by some. The Hellfire name had been tarnished by it's involvement in the Illuminati, even though the primary people responsible for it were no longer part of the Hellfire Club. No, they had went and made their own court - the Red Court - and Tessa (and Betsy) had no desire to have anything to do with it.

Sage responded to James' cold greeting by lowering her eyes and then bowing her head once, hopefully to show that she was not here to cause any type of trouble. But to the large Russian, Sage looked up at him as he spoke to her in Russian. She continued to look at him as Sarah introduced her to them both.

“You are not hard to find, Sarah,” Tessa replied, still looking at Colossus. She glanced at Network as the girl said that she was being rude and then proceeded to introduce her to the two men. “Dobraye ootro,” Sage greeted Piotr in Russian with a nod of her head. She then looked back to Warpath. Her mind worked quickly, as she had never had a reason to learn the Apache language before. But she found that speaking to others in their native tongue often made them more comfortable with her. For a brief moment, her eyes lost their focus.

“Dáanzhonl da,” Sage said after a few seconds passed, her eyes focusing in on Warpath's. “Ha annsi?” She then extended her hand out to him with the purpose of shaking it in greeting.

Whether or not Warpath accepted her gesture, Tessa turned so that she stood beside Sarah and the two men so that she would not stop them from following Paras towards the rides. Instead, she moved so that she could walk along with them and speak to them as they moved. It felt good to actually be with a group of people for once... even though she was not really “with” them.

“I have one booth,” Tessa replied, walking alongside Network. The Black Queen kept her hands behind her back and walked in an almost robotic fashion, with posture that was straight out of a guidebook. “It is close to the main stage. I hired several young people to display my work,” she said, looking over at the younger woman. Once again, her eyes lingered and if the light were to hit them just right, a red sparkle could be seen within her brown irises. “So that they may show others that the only change in their current products will be the speed and efficiency of it's operations.”

“But yes, they are incredible,” Sage agreed, not meaning to seem arrogant. It was simply a fact. She glanced down and away from Sarah as she complimented her dress. As the Queen, she was used to receiving compliments, though not as many came from people who were not required to sing her praises. “Thank you, Sarah. You flatter me.”

Almost as if dismissing any more talk about her fashion, Sage continued on about her products. “I wish I could claim all responsibility for their design, but much of it was inspired by a creator unlike any other I have ever seen,” Tessa said, looking back to Sarah and then across her to the two men. “I am not referring to Forge, either. I am referring to Apocalypse. The destruction he brought also brought along many surprising advancements for us... the same can be said with the Skrulls. But you already know a little something about nanites, do you not, Sarah?”

Sage winked at the girl and then looked across her towards James and Piotr. Not to leave them out of the discussion, she said, “Speaking of disasters, I have not seen many of you since the Purifiers attacked the mansion. If you recall, I was working in the medbay assisting Elixer, Avery, Hank and other medical personnel with the injured. But I do not suppose either of you strong men required the services there.” Tessa smiled, an actual genuine smile, at Network. “That is where I first met Sarah, on the mansion grounds. I wish it was under better circumstances, though.”

Tessa's reaction almost immediately put Jim to rest. The tension that had built under his skin faded the moment she nodded. She wasn't here to do anything other than talk, and he certainly wasn't interested in starting something with the woman. It wasn't even so much that he thought she personally was going to be trouble. He only knew a little about the woman, and the Hellfire Club, and that was what put him on edge. But that didn't seem to be an issue. After flashing a look at Piotr when he was nudged, he nodded a little as Sarah introduced them to Tessa, and glanced over at Piotr as she greeted him in Russian. However, the next thing she said caught him off guard and the shock of her speaking Apache to him showed for a second or two before he caught himself.

"Dáanzhonl da. Haee'a.*" It wasn't everyday you heard someone speak a native language, and especially not when it wasn't spoken usually ever off a reservation. He himself didn't even speak it that fluently, and he'd heard it since he was in the third grade back in Camp Verde. "Yaa' ta' sai'.**" He added slowly as he took her hand and shook. He glanced at Piotr again as they started to set off again and Tessa and Sarah began talking about the booth at the expo. While he kept one ear on the conversation, it would of been stressing to say he was paying attention, although every so often he'd hear something that caught his attention, but James was more interested in Tessa than the words she was saying. Her movement, while not awkward, was almost stiff. Robotic. Almost absolutely perfect. Was that a result of her lifestyle, or her powers?

The wink between Tessa and Sarah did not go unnoticed, and Jim raised an eyebrow slightly at Sarah before the other woman spoke up towards them and he looked over at her. The mansion explosion. Jim's memory was muddy at best after the actual blast itself. Had he seen Sage there while he'd been shipped to the infirmary? He couldn't remember picking her out exactly in the event. Although, to be fair, he hadn't been awake most of it. Hell, if it hadn't been for Josh, he probably would of bit it, right there an then. "I actually was in the infirmary. Right near the initial blast. I'm not as indestructible as I thought." He smiled a little at her and nodded a touch, glancing down at Sarah before looking at Tessa once again. He knew Sarah had been busy during that time. A little more busy than he'd originally believed it seemed, to be meeting the Black Queen. He looked around the area, filled with people and various booths and then looked at Sarah. "So where're we goin', Sarah?"

As he began heading toward the rides, a woman he knew not personally, but through the words of the others in the mansion, greeted him and the others by name. For a moment it made him pause as he passed by. Never had the two of them met before in any fashion. Never had their paths crossed even in the briefest of moments. Then he remembered hearing that she was some kind of technopath like Sarah. She could have snatched his name off the internet or something. It was not a difficult task even for someone without powers since he was the only, at least to his knowledge, Paras that had purple skin and red hair. Still, it was kind of creepy that she greeted him by name when he barely could remember how to pronounce hers.

He considered staying back, but felt that it was unnecessary. He highly doubted that she was going to cause any kind of trouble for the others in such a crowded location. Even though from what he knew of the club from others and there involvement with the Illuminati, those that were part of Hellfire weren’t exactly soulless creatures bent on dominating the world through money, power, and manipulation. He didn’t like to pass judgment on others, especially when he did not know them on a personal level. He knew what it felt like to have others whispering judgmental comments. So instead of letting himself be put off by her, he continued to the small line at the Tilt-A-Whirl to partake in the enjoyment that filled the expo. With hands tucked into the pockets of his black jeans he stood behind mom and her cotton candy eating kid.

The line moved. The kid took a bite of her cotton candy and looked back at him. Her snaggletooth smile made him smile. “You’re a pretty color,” she said.

Pretty. It was a description that he’d been labeled with on more than one occasion. Sometimes he wondered why he couldn’t have been born another color, one a little more neutral like green or blue. Then again purple was the color of royalty and he did come from a pretty well-off family, so perhaps it was truly fitting. But still. “Why thank you, little one,” he said.

Apparently the girl’s mother wasn’t so appreciative of his appearance. She didn’t have to say anything because the look that she gave him was worth a paragraph or two. She jerked at her daughter’s arm to get her to turn back around and stare forward. Paras sighed, shaking his head. He felt sorry for the girl, sorry that she had a mother full of prejudice. He was sorry that there was a chance that she would grow up to have that same prejudice polluting her mind. Paras didn’t care that the woman was clearly against mutants. He cared more for the well-being of the youth she was raising. Looking back, he saw that the group was still chatting with Tessa.

Never let it be said that Piotr was an unfailing sucker for pretty women, nor for people who spoke Russian. The universe, in its infinite wisdom, knew full well that there were people who fit into each category and sometimes into both, that he'd as soon kill as see.

Piotr might be a seen Tessa as one of the people whom should have been on that don't trust list. Because this Miss Ayasli, she wasn't just a pretty woman able to speak Russian, as well as Apache. She wasn't just incredibly smart. She was a queen of the Hellfire Club. She was probably just as ready to cause them problems as she was speak to them if that better series her personal goals. Piotr understood that.

But as they began walking with her, none of that even crossed his mind. She was being amicable, Sarah vouched for her, even Jimmy had decided to trust her. There was no reason Piotr could think of at the moment to worry about what she might have done in the past or might do in the future.

“I have one booth it is close to the main stage. I hired several young people to display my work so that they may show others that the only change in their current products will be the speed and efficiency of it's operations.”

"Sounds good, all I hear from our students is how they wish things worked faster. I find things good enough for myself, but I can barely be considered the normal user. I mostly use my phone as a phone, to put things in perspective."

“Speaking of disasters, I have not seen many of you since the Purifiers attacked the mansion." she went on to say how she had helped in the makeshift medical tent run by Xavier's med staff, and that she assumed nether Jimmy nor Pete had needed their particular assistance.

"Actually, I did need Elixir's help towards the end of the day. One of those mech suit Purifiers had a weapon that was actually able to cut through me. They separated my left shoulder and into my chest, perforating a lung and my heart even as my arm hung uselessly. When I was metal it wasn't much of a problem; I was fighting, my body wasn't feeling the effects. But afterward, once my energy and everything ran down, I lost consciousness and almost died when my body powered down. Never actually made it inside the tent though." Piotr finished. He knew that it was a bit of a downer, talking about it, but he couldn't think of anything else to say.

Slowly, the group was catching up to Paras, and Piotr waved to the guy to go ahead and have fun, that he didn't need to wait on them the whole time. They would catch up soon enough.

Technopathy
The tense atmosphere was pretty obvious, probably to anyone looking, too. Tessa pointed out that it hadn’t been very hard to find her, and Sarah had to smile at that, knowing it was obviously true. After all, the tech in the area was alerting to Sage’s presence as well. In fact, had Tessa not found her, Sarah probably would’ve simply tracked her down later in a similar fashion. It was how she knew where Tessa’s booths were, after all. The younger telepath smiled crookedly as Sage spoke to Piotr in Russian, then to Jimmy in what Sarah could only assume was Apache. Judging by the momentarily startled look on his face, he hadn’t expected that. Neither had Sarah, and she looked at the older woman in surprise for a moment. Whatever she said, the tension seemed to ease with Jimmy’s response, and she nodded at Sage’s explanation of her booth.

“I can’t wait to see them, I’ve heard only good things.” She liked to keep an ear out for new tech, and of course, Sage’s designs were becoming all the rage. Grinning at Piotr’s mention of how he used his phone, she had to try not to laugh. Apparently, he’d offered to come to the expo for the rides and carnival fare, rather than anything else. She wasn’t surprised. The mention of Apocalypse caused Sarah to raise her eyebrows thoughtfully at the admission – she hadn’t come into contact with any of those nanites, thanks to the school’s bunker she’d been safely stowed in. A small smile lifted her lips at the mention of the Skrulls, able to think of quite a few technological advancements from that particular incident…And then Sage winked at her. Sarah blushed, and it only intensified when she saw Jimmy’s raised eyebrow. Glancing away for a second, she looked at him and lifted a single shoulder in a small shrug.

“I, uh…Appropriated most of the nanites Prodigy used to…Incapacitate me. Reconfigured and repurposed them for my own use.” For a split second, her voice dropped into an almost mechanical tone at the mention of Prodigy, eyes flashing flatly. In further explanation, she lifted a hand, tapping it to her chest in a clear motion of pointing out to Jimmy that the nanites were inside her. The mention of the mansion’s destruction caused a slight scowl to shake the emotionless look off her face, as if reengaging in the conversation, glancing between Jimmy and Piotr as they pointed out that they had, in fact, been in the medical infirmary. Returning Tessa’s smile with one of her own, she spoke.

“I think Elixir saw to both of them almost immediately, Miss Ayasli. I think you were helping Jac and Dr. McCoy with some of the less…Direly injured.” She wasn’t certain, but she was pretty sure. She’d been standing outside in the battle suit at the time, when Tessa had found her. Shaking off the slightly melancholic feeling those memories brought back, she shrugged at Jimmy’s question, looking over and waving at Paras when he glanced at them.

“I don’t have a plan – guess we’ll wait for Paras to finish riding that, and go from there. I’m making this up as I go along.” She grinned at them, including Tessa. “Miss Ayesli, you’re welcome to join us if you like. Although I think we’re just going to wander around and ride some rides.” Sarah wasn’t sure if Tessa would be interested in rides, but there were certain rides that Sarah was sure the guys would want to do that she wouldn’t, and then she and Tessa would be able to keep each other company, she supposed. Either way, it was polite to ask, and Sarah would enjoy the chance to speak to Tessa for longer.
