Sage moved her head towards the front, looking straight ahead as they walked through the crowd. Most people moved out of the way for their little group, with the two large men being hard to miss and all. Her thoughts briefly returned to the day that the school was attacked and it also pondered the nanites that were within Network's system. While Tessa did indeed have nanites in her own possession, she had never allowed them to flow within her veins. She weighed the benefits and the dangers of it, but kept them to herself.

“I was indeed preoccupied with those that were lesser injured. Meaning, the ones who were not in risk of immediate death,” Sage said. “I have the ability to learn and master many things, such as your Apache language, James.” She glanced as Warpath as she said that, but then looked back towards the front. “But I am no healer, such as Josh Foley is. I was only able to provide traumatic care in the form of simple surgery, medication and bandaging. So while I was busy there, you both must have been taken care of by Josh.”

She looked to all of them and smiled, as if snapping out of her own thoughts.

“That is why I do not recall either of you there,” Tessa said. “Piotr, I will have to show you the things that you can do with a smart phone some day. Using it only for it's calling and texting abilities does not do it justice. But then again, it is good that you are not as addicted to it as some people are these days. Even as involved as I am with the production and use of technology, I still believe that you should take a step back and enjoy the beautiful world around you.”

Sage looked towards Sarah as she said that, eyes dancing red yet again. She could not stop looking into the young woman. To see someone similar to yourself was not something that she saw every day. The nanites within Sarah's system sparked up, here and there, outlining the girl's circulatory system perfectly. Within Sarah's chest was the brightest spot, where the miniature bots collected together to form a perfect outline of a beating heart.

Sage desired to touch Network. To feel the nanites within her. To learn what they knew and where they came from. But now was not the time.

“I wish I was there to help you when it occurred,” Tessa said, in response to learning that Network had been incapacitated by the nanites. “But it sounds like something that made you stronger, so I am glad that I did not rob you of that. As far as these rides go... I will ride them, if it means being able to spend more time with all of you.”

The smile returned to Tessa's face.

“Perhaps I can show all of you that we are not all bad people over at the Hellfire Club,” she said. “Some of us just have strong desires, even if that means doing things in an illegal way... or even a horrible way.” Tessa thought back to Max for a moment and how she had loved him. At least until he would not turn back from the path that the Illuminati led him down. “But I am not one of those people. I have suffered from many of the same tragedies that you all have been put through,” Sage said, looking between them all and then settling her eyes on Sarah. “I would like to tell you about my time on Skrullos one of these days, Sarah. When we are not in a place that is meant to be fun.”

To be honest, Sarah hadn’t kept nearly as many nanites in her body as she’d originally considered. Oh, she’d started out with the majority, but she’d been slowly filtering them out of her body and collecting them as a side project. Studying them. There were still a number of them in her body, but for the most part they were relatively benign. They could monitor her body’s circulation, toxicity levels, she even knew what her blood sugar was. A precaution, of sorts, against the possibility of being poisoned again. And, of course, Sarah was fully capable of removing them from herself at any given time. And with the way Sage kept looking at her, Sarah could guess that she was seeing the nanites.

Glancing around the park, she nodded in agreement with Tessa’s statement about why she hadn’t seen the two large men in the medical bay during the attack. Sarah was almost positive both of them had been on the top of Josh’s healing list, although to be honest, Sarah hadn’t spent much time in the makeshift medical area. She’d been working with the remains of the school’s systems, determining safe zones and areas in need of help – and after that, she’d been standing guard outside in a commandeered battle suit. That, of course, was where Sage had found her. She imagined it had been quite a strange sight, seeing a petite teenage girl perched inside a large, armed-to-the-teeth battle suit.

Sage’s response to learning about the nanites incident caused Sarah to blink, because to be honest, even if she had known it was nanites, she never would have considered asking another technopath for help. After all, what good was she, if she couldn’t overcome it on her own. Bad enough that it had put her out of commission for so long. She’d probably be even more ashamed of herself if they’d needed to bring in another technopath to deal with it. For a moment, Sarah tilted her head thoughtfully at the idea, before shaking it, braid flopping.

“I appreciate the thought…But once they brought me out of it, I needed to deal with it myself.” Her eyes flashed, hard and cold, not at Sage, but simply out of reflex to the thought of having come out of that coma. “And I did deal with it. And the person who caused it.” Flashing a small smile, she shrugged a single shoulder. “And on the bright side, I got nanites.” Sarah always preferred looking on the bright side. She’d nearly died, but she’d learned, gotten stronger, and now had more interesting things to play with. And more importantly, she’d make sure it never happened again. A smile lifted her lips at the idea of Tessa riding rides, especially in such a lovely dress.

“Speaking of the Club, how is reconstruction going?” The sudden, incredibly vicious destruction of the club had made the news, despite the world practically going up in flames from the Illuminati. The ruins of the fabulous club were horrifying, and Sarah was very sincere when she asked about the rebuilding process. She knew full well what it was like to have your home destroyed around you. It was hard to rebuild. Looking up at the taller technopath, Sarah frowned. “I am sorry I didn’t get in touch with you after I saw that happened. I meant to, but with everything that happened…” She trailed off, lifting a hand to tuck a lock of hair behind one ear, shaking her head. “I’m glad you’re alright.” The mention of Skrullos caused Sarah to give her a startled look, but she nodded slowly.

“I…I would like that, Miss Ayasli.” Her surprise was mainly because Tessa seemed so candid about wanting to talk about it. She’d heard snippets from people; it wasn’t pleasant. To be honest, Sarah had to admit to some curiosity about the planet, the world. She’d worked with quite a bit of Skrull and Nuwali tech. But other than fighting, she’d had very little contact with the Skrulls. She knew more about the Nuwali people than the Skrulls they had devolved into. After a moment of thought, she gave Tessa a small smile.

“If you like, I can tell you more about the origins of the Skrull. I found out a lot, while we were on…Retreat. After the school’s destruction.” She was a bit hesitant about offering, unsure of Tessa would be interested in learning more about the monsters that had abducted her. But information was something Sarah had always appreciated, and she had to wonder if perhaps Tessa might find it interesting.

“That is why I do not recall either of you there,” Piotr nodded his head at her understanding, sighing a little as he did so.

"For the longest time I felt ashamed inside. It was stupid that I needed help at all. Something like that, I'm supposed to bounce back from even as it happens... Or at least, that is how you start to feel when you are considered fully indestructible by most of your friends. You start to believe it yourself."

“Piotr, I will have to show you the things that you can do... do it justice. But then again... I still believe that you should take a step back and enjoy the beautiful world around you.”

She and Sarah seemed to be exchanging a moment that Piotr, woefully, obviously not a technopath, had no hope of understanding, but her words to him were pleasant enough that he wasn't going to try and ruin what the two beautiful women had going. Not one to be considered the best at construing what the meaning behind a lady's words truly was, Piotr took a moment to make sure he understood that she was speaking literally. A lady such as the one in front of him more than likely had no time for double entendres. Still, the tiniest of crushes formed within him. He was an artist, for god's sake. Even if nobody could see it on his face, emotions drove him through life. Love was just another thing that empowered his art. Besides, it was not like he intended to blurt out his undying devotion to her over a compliment and an offer to show him some tricks. It was just a small crush.

"Why, thank you, Miss Ayasli," his ever-lingering accent horribly screwing her name up, "I would love that. And I agree, sometimes there is nothing more beautiful or peaceful than being out in the world away from electronics, just soaking in nature. Some of my better paintings are of the scenery behind the school."

The two women went on to speak of Skrullos, and Piotr was once more out of his depth of knowledge. He'd been inside the Savage Lands at the time of all that, only coming back to the real world to help towards the end of the conflict, after the Brood had been dealt with.

“Speaking of the Club, how is reconstruction going?”

For a moment, Piotr thought Sarah was talking about the fight between Piotr and a few others against Shade and his group when they tried to save Talia and a few other students. Piotr had thrown a giant Shiva statue at Jay Guthrie back then. Well, to he fair it was just a pair of arms, but still. Quickly though, he realized she was speaking about the actual Club being destroyed.

“I’m glad you’re alright.”

"Yes, at least you only lost a building and not your life. Lives, certainly ones as precious as yours, cannot be replaced."

Did that come out right?
