May 17th 8:00 PM The long day was almost at an end. The sun was all but set and the buildings all around the park kept any remaining light that might have tried to trickle in. All that remained was the unnatural light scattered throughout the park. However, at the main stage where the primary presentations took place, the lights were out and it was dark for the crowd that had gathered. After Dr. Richard's experiment, the excitement within the park had only climaxed. Needless to say, what Mr. Fantastic did would be a hard act to follow. But things such as pressure, excitement, nervousness and other such feelings did not both Tessa Ayasli. Her mind was capable of shutting out those emotions and feelings, though she felt them. No, her presentation was not going to be like Mr. Fantastics. She did not seek to astonish the world by allowing them to take a view of another. Instead, she only wanted to bring a reality to this world that they would not believe. Two massive screens were set up on either side of the stage and written on them in a dimly lit pink was the word “Sage.” The font was sleek and crisp, there was nothing flashy about it, but it was at the same time appealing. The world would soon be littered with the name, as her products were unleashed and utilized the world over. But perhaps that was hard for some to imagine. It was hard for them to see the change that was coming. Thankfully, Sage was there to explain. A spotlight lit up the stage. In the center of it was a podium and a dark haired woman stood there. The light made her glow. It made her black dress and jewelry sparkle, showing off the fine threading and crystals that it was made up of. Tessa Ayasli was beautiful, hardly fitting the standard for the other scientists and doctors who made their presentations here. She would have just as easily fit into a fashion show, but she was here, standing before the crowd. “I know that you are all expecting a glorious sight, just as you saw earlier thanks to Dr. Richards. What he brought to the table was inspiring, even if it did cause fear in some of you, because it showed that there is life outside of our own world and universe. Let us all give another round of applause to Mr. Fantastic and the work that he does over at the Fantastic Four building,” Tessa said confidently, showing no sense of fear even though there was a large crowd gathered. “And likewise, I want to thank Mr. Stark for this opportunity to speak here and to display my own work, so that you all will be enlightened about the things that I will soon bring to the market.” The crowd cheered again for Tony, some of them shouting out 'Iron Man!' or other such words. Tessa gave them all an opportunity to calm down. Usually during this time, a speaker would look to their notes or attempt to get their thoughts into order, but there was no need for that with Sage. She simply looked out into the crowd, a smile coming to her face as they cheered the two brilliant men that she mentioned. “Let me get the boring things out of the way first,” Sage said after the crowd had simmered down. She turned towards one of the massive displays, and a picture of a processor appeared on screen. Under it, written so that it was plain to see, was a set of stats. “Some of you may be familiar with the current processors that are available to us on the market. Intel and AMD are the primary producers of these products, but today I am going to introduce you all to another option. A better option. A cheaper option.” “This is an Intel Xeon processor chip,” Tessa continued. “As you can see, it has 12 cores and it is capable of moving at 2.7 gigahertz per second. When pushed by means of turbo, it is capable of 3.5 gigahertz per second. This is a fine product and it is the top of the line as to what Intel can provide us. The cost of this product is $2500. This means that for most of you, you are not working with a processor that is as powerful as this.” “Let me be more clear about what this means,” Tessa said with a smile. “The processor is essentially the brain of any computer. It does not matter the size of your memory, the amount of RAM, or how wonderful your video card is. None of this can function to it's maximum potential without a brain powerful enough to process the information given to it. And for the users who do not care about these things, then it mostly boils down to how quickly a webpage will load. How quickly you click on something and how long it takes for it to pop up. How long does it take for my computer to start when I hit the power button? But most importantly... how much does a computer cost, so that I can have fun with it or use it for school, or other purposes.” The screen changed and it displayed a Sage branded processor. What most people wouldn't realize, is that it was magnified a hundred times so that people could see the size and the detail. “This is my product,” Sage said. “I have very little to offer you in terms of flashy showmanship. This is the Sage 1 processor chip. It has 42 cores of processing power. I did not misspeak. Forty-two. While the Intel processor is commendable at 3.5 gigahertz per second, my processor is capable of handling one terahertz per second.” Sage paused for a moment to let that sink in. For many people, it probably wouldn't. “I know what you all might be thinking,” she said. “This must cost a fortune. But my purpose in this market it not to rob you all. I do not want to deny a young person from going to college or even excelling in high school because they could not afford a computer. But why should a person who is rich have access to something as wonderful as this, while my son or daughter is forced to either have nothing or to use a sub-standard technology? I will tell you this, everyone... due to it's small size and my method of manufacturing, this processor will be available to the open market for as little as $500 per processor.” “What this means for you all, is that I am selling my product to Dell, Apple, Acer, Hewlett-packard, and android phones for a low price. In cell phones, you may see a slight increase in price, but you will essentially be holding a computer that is superior to any currently released in the palm of your hands. In laptops and tablets, the price should stay the same or even fall.” The stage lit up, showing off a line of products from one end of the stage to the other. The same young people that had been working her booth were at each piece of technology, which ranged from computers, to cell phones, to tablets and even gaming systems that she had personally modified. “I know that there are many questions,” Sage said, looking towards where the reporters were standing. “But I am going to allow you all to walk along the stage in line in order to see these products up close. Hold your questions until you get to me, and I will answer them to the best of my ability.” The crowd shifted, moving towards the left side of the stage where security had opened up a set of stairs. The line would proceed along the products on display and Sage stood at the end of them all, waiting to greet everyone and answer any questions that there may be. It was not a dazzling presentation. But Sage knew that this product would sell itself. |
