Date: May 14th Time: 10:30 pm Most possessed an appreciable amount of intelligence to give her a wide berth. But there always were those incapable of deducing just how fatal Yuriko Oyama truly was; her pseudonym of Lady Deathstrike was more than just that, it blatantly revealed her entire career. As an assassin, Deathstrike understood the necessity of patience, adept at remaining motionless and waiting tirelessly for hours upon hours, only to lunge when appropriate. And she always left painted in glorious red. Yet now the mutant-turned-cyberpath wished to eviscerate the adolescent morons refusing to leave her vicinity. "Are they real?" "Does it hurt?" "How do you go to the bathroom? The rampage of inquiries was incessant, each boy picking up where another left off. Sometimes their excited voices would merge into a horrifying monster intent on destroying whatever auditory perception they spared. Obviously their respective parents were relieved to escape the horrors they produced. No mother in her right mind could tolerate such idiocy without seeking solace in alcohol or narcotics. Although her own mother did so without either. Granted, Reiko Oyama was broken from the beginning. Today, Yuriko was forced to maintain an amiable visage while Harada delivered a presentation concerning nuclear power and plants once considered only possible via an expansive imagination. Admittedly, she should have comprehended far more than the average attendee -- she was, after all, the daughter of a scientist, regardless of his failures. And had she not been subjected to tremendously controversial procedures still deemed "experimental", perhaps the woman now feared as Lady Deathstrike would nod along as her associate spoke of his ventures. Instead, psychological trauma far too intricate to successfully repress served as immovable hindrances, leaving Yuriko an emotionless hitwoman who occasionally recognized a term or phrase Kenji previously used. "Don't you ever put 'em away?" Immediately a twelve-inch claw owned by her right hand began to elongate, first passing thirteen inches and then fifteen inches before reaching an astonishing twenty inches. The idiots finally conceded, taking a step back with each increase in length. She employed a similar technique during what others would call "torture"; a single claw placed under a participant's chin moved back until reaching where their tongue would be. From there, she allotted a brief extraction period. If they refused to reveal anything or claimed an inadequate understanding of the subject, that claw would grow and grow until piercing skin and puncturing their tongue. Painful and messy, it nevertheless proved effective. Death by adamantium may have become easier to prove. But who it belonged to was virtually impossible. Collective clapping signaled the conclusion of Harada's presentation and Yuriko made her way towards her associate, using her metallic claws to provide a clear path. Those gathered to witness true genius wasted no time in giving her space. Upon reaching her destination, Lady Deathstrike opted to conceal her dialogue in Japanese. The affluent had ears everywhere. <"Harada, I require your company for an urgent manner">. Waiting until they were away from men and women hungry for gossip, Yuriko continued. <"I understand you are aware of a man named Donald Pierce. He approached me today, Harada, about a matter I am most uncomfortable with">. |

As the collective clapping of his captivated audience grew, Harada stepped away from the podium that he ha been stood at delivering his presentation on the nuclear power plants of the future. The remote that controlled the slide show he had been using to go along with his talk was placed back where it had been found, and the white knight offered those who had sat through his talk a deep bow. Presentations like this were rare for the CEO of AmaTech International, the biggest audiences he was used to was the occasional college lecture he gave to physics students, but this was a whole different ball game. Stepping off the stage there was naturally those who wanted to bend his ear immediately, however there was one voice in among the crowd who spoke his native tongue that would grab his attention. Yuriko was the jewel in his crown as it were. Harada had been searching for a weapon that would allow him to bring down his would be brother-in-law for what seemed like an eternity. And here she was in all his glorious perfection, naturally Harada liked to keep her close, and as such she had the role of white pawn within the New England Hellfire Club, however she was not to serve the club members in the same way as other, lesser pawns would. No Yuriko was most definitely Harada's and the white knight did not share well when it came to his possessions. "If you will excuse me, I shall return momentarily and I will gladly answer any and all questions that you might have." A bright smile crossed Harada's face as he spoke to the strangers that were curious about what else was going on in his research. However first of all he had to find out what was wrong with Yuriko. Placing her hand on her back, he guided her away from the few people that were gathered here. <"What is wrong my dear?"> He asked following her cue to speak in their native tongue. That was when Yuriko began to explain about Donald Pierce, the white rook of Hellfire and one, like so many within the club that Harada had such a hard time trusting. <"Go on Yuriko, tell me what he had to offer."> His brows furrowed, this was not good. It was no secret that Pierce was enhanced, he was not a mutant, no he was a cybernetic. The other great advance in humanity, the ability to infuse biological matter with technological upgrades, and the other branch of AmaTech's research and development. But that did not give the Rook permission to interfere with what was his and if needed Harada would pull rank and remind Pierce of who held the higher rank within the club. |
