Date: Sept 12 Time: Afternoon-Friday It didn’t really feel like a school. At least not the kind of school Guido had ever gone to. He was used to the type that felt more like a prison, with painted cinderblock walls, no windows, fluorescent lights and shiny composition vinyl floors. He was used to seeing hordes of students trudging like zombies from one class to the next with unhappy and underpaid faculty staring down at them like birds of prey…just waiting for the opportunity to swoop in for the kill. That wasn’t how this place seemed to him. Sure there were kids here, there always had been. But they seemed more like a family and less like fellow inmates. The faculty shared something vital in common with their students, and rather than unhappy schoolmarms what you usually saw here was more akin to how a father or mother would treat their offspring. And that was true in almost every face he’d seen here. Even Logan was some kind of a mother… But Guido wasn’t here to pick a fight. He was on a mission. In fact, as he made his way down the halls, his broad shoulders taking up far too much room and making more than a few people have to step aside to let him past, he whistled the theme song from Mission Impossible. There were a few people that recognized him, some from the reality show…and some from his previous visits to Xavier’s fine hacienda. Haciendo? Haciender? Whatever. Maybe it was better to say big mother-truckin’ house and leave Spanish to the professionals. Guido fished out his iPhone and shot Piotr a text: I’M HERE. They’d already agreed to meet, and though Guido hadn’t really divulged much in the way of details about the case, he could tell that he had piqued the interest of the Russian beefcake with the simple hints that he needed his help on a case. Guido stopped short at a door, and the cameraman behind him stopped as well. He tried to remember it exactly as he had googled it. “Er…Spahseebow!” It was supposed to be hello. He then followed up with what he thought was a traditional Russian greeting of a hug and a kiss on each cheek. Wait...that wasn't how you said hello! |

"And that is why you're my favorite sister... Yes, yes I know you're my only sister, but that doesn't change how amazing you are for watching Nuya while I officiate this contest." Piotr said, making his way toward the gymnasium where he had told his friend, Guido Carosella, that he'd be. He was about to referee a super strength free for all that Piotr had convinced would be a good training device for the kids. It would be a great way to get them prepared to go toe to toe with the kinds of opponents they might deal with in the future. For a short time, he had considered not letting Molly compete, because by now the story of how she had beaten up Doom was well known around the school. But eventually he'd decided that it wouldn't be fair to have her stuck out. He'd just stepped through the doors to the gym when his phone buzzed in his pocket. I’M HERE. WAITING AT THE GYM WHEN YOU'RE READY. The Russian had been intrigued when Guido had contacted him about a case that the fellow strongman was working. There wasn't much to go on, but the way Carosella kept flirting around the details had Piotr telling him he'd be happy to help, if only so he could find out what Guido was trying to hold back. So they'd agreed that Strong Guy would come up to the school and they'd speak face to face. He'd forgotten about the camera men. Lucky there was really only one with the hulking jokester as he burst through the door. But Guido paused just inside the doorway, the camera guy moving around to get a better angle of the two large men. Piotr, unsure of what was happening, stared at Guido. "Um, are you alright, comrade?" "Er…Spahseebow!” "Spasi-?!" And then Guido was embracing him and kissing him on the cheek. Stiffening, Piotr's eyes widened even as the camera zoomed in on his face. "Um... Guido? That means 'thank you'." Coughing, Pete removed himself from the hug, and grinned, finally getting over the awkward moment. "I take it you learned all your Russian from Jaime, the same way Dani did? Heheheh." That had been an awkward night. Jaime had taught her how to proposition him for 'the sexy times' instead of teaching her how to express her happiness at their friendship. Wether it had been an accident or not, Dani had supposedly given Jaime quite the punishment for the embarrassing night. "Well, anyway, hello in Russian is privet, for all intents and purposes." He turned, leading Guido and his camera guy through the gym to the area that was their destination. "So, I take it quite a few of the kids were eager to be on camera during your little trip through the school? Ive come to find that despite how different their gifts make them from other humans, kids still love attention." They came through another set of doors, and Piotr waved his arm, indicating the students milling about waiting to start, and turned to Guido and the camera. "These are the next generation of powerhouses. The kids that will take over when Guido is too old to lift more than a buick over his head, and I've rusted through." Piotr joked. |

Rho was helping Pete with the kids contest as a second judge and a ref to make sure none of them got crazy during the competition. Kids could be mean little bastards and he didn't want to see anyone flung through a wall or something because someone else wanted to get ahead. But since it hadn't started yet, he decided to get in a quick workout. And thankfully the gym housed some of the best gym equipment in the world, and able to actually challenge the people there who possessed enhanced strength of all levels. Currently he was standing with his feet spread and something that looked like a simple black bar with lights along it and a square black box on either end. It didn't look like a real weight bar, but in truth it weighed about 40 tons just then. He grunted in a bit of exertion to get it off the ground, but once he was past that, he began curling it up to his chest in steady repetitions. His workouts always felt more effective if he was using extremely heavy weights. It pushed him more. He was going steady at his workout when more movement than normal caught his eye and he saw Pete walking in with Guido and Guido was being trailed by a cameraman. Lifting the weight so it was slung over his shoulder, he walked over to the two strongmen who he was better friends with than he ever thought he'd be. "Pete, you can rust? Good to know for my next prank," he said with a grin. "Guido, my dude. It's been too long, man." He put his free fist out and bumped it against Guido's before turning to the Russian. "Oh hey Pete, be a dear, armor up and catch!" Laughing, he tossed the 40 ton weight high enough that his friend had time to become Colossus and catch it. But the look of panic on his face would be classic. |

Guido shrugged it off. He’d tried his best Russian and it had gone over like a fart in church. Whatteryagonnado? It could have been worse though…much worse. He could have accidentally propositioned Piotr on public television. That would have been worse. Or he could have accidentally said he does the cha cha like a sissy girl, or that his tiny nipples went to France. There was always a frickin’ bright side if you thought about it. Of course he had his own agenda on why he was here, and it had everything to do with Piotr’s working knowledge of the Russian language and Russian culture…but for now Piotr seemed to have his own ideas on what they were going to do, so he glanced at the camera, shrugged…and followed the X-Man bruiser down the hall and into the gym. At Piotr’s explanation, Guido did a quick inventory, checking out the new whippersnapper powerhouses with his chin resting thoughtfully in his hand and a pensive frown on his face. He didn’t know what to say, but felt as if something was required of him, so he simply made a monotone noise that came out in the form of a thoughtful “hmmmm”. Of course Rho was there amongst them, effortlessly curling a bar with enough weight on it to easily crush a bus. He grinned at Rho when he came near and bumped fists with him. “Only place he’s gonna rust is down under if you know what I’m saying.” And while Piotr had to come up with a comeback to that comment he also had to worry about catching a deadly flying projectile. Oh yeah, this was gonna be fun. He looked at the cameramen. “You guys might wanna stand way over there,” he said. “Use the zoom and wide angle.” Like he knew what he was talking about. Then he rolled his neck out a little and clapped his hands together with a devilish grin. “All right, let’s get this Rho on the shoad!” He didn't have a lot of plans to actually do much during this. Just watch. And judge. And heckle of course. |

Guido's "hmmm" had Piotr thinking that the man was actually assessing the powerhouse students, and he very nearly began to introduce each and everyone of them to the only other man, aside from Cain, who could potentially be stronger than he was and not have some kind of complication. Not counting Molly of course. But that was a given. "Pete, you can rust? Good to know... Oh hey... armor up and catch!" turning, Piotr watched as Dotae threw giant weight high into the air. Freaking out, Piotr went from flesh and bone to osmium immediately, frantically reaching out to catch it before it could hurt someone. Only afterward did he realize that nobody but the camera man could have been hurt, and that man had moved way back before Don even let go of the weight. Possibly for a better angle or something, Pete mused. "Forty tons, Rho? You could have broken the floor, and the foundation... Nice toss by the way." "Only place he’s gonna rust is down under if you know what I’m saying." Guido quipped as Pete set the weight down carefully. The Russian wasn't very quick with snappy comebacks, and it left him quiet as Guido's movie jargon and comfort in front of the camera impressed most in the room. “All right, let’s get this Rho on the shoad!” "It will not rust if you keep it well oiled, Tovarisch." Piotr said, finally coming up with what he felt was a good comeback. Belatedly, from the reactions he got, he realized that it didn't exactly have the impact he was looking for. One Hour Later "So, before we get to the business that brings you to our humble home, Guido, what did you think? The potential was certainly there, right?" Piotr said, asking both Guido and the camera men for their honest opinions of the freshly ended battle. "And then you can tell me why you're practicing Russian." |

Dontae tried to stifle a laugh into his hand when Guido ragged on Pete, saying he'd only have rust problems in one particular area. He didn't mean to bust out, but he tried his best(which wasn't great) to hold it back. He broke into full on giggle fits at the look on Piotr's face as he became Colossus and tried his best to catch the weight. Of course he did, and Rho somehow stopped his ribs from hurting enough to stand up straight and look Pete in the eye as he now easily held the device that was heavy enough to crush...well a lot of things. "Oh please," he said in retort when the Russian Robot told him he could have broken the floor and the foundation. "You could make that catch and hold that much in your sleep. The only danger was you looking ridiculous when you did it...which is kinda what I was hoping for." After he put the weight down, Guido made a play on words, and he nodded appreciatively. "That was a good one, Guido. Props." An hour later they were still together, and Pete was asking Guido what he thought about the up and coming mutants at the school. They were getting the best training and school possible, and if they decided to go down the hero path, they'd do great things when their time came. He was confident of that, because it had happened for him. |
