Elle yawned as she almost stumbled through the halls at Xavier's school. She'd been slacking off and sleeping in late, whenever Nate hadn't woken her up for cartoons. Now that regular school hours were right around the corner, she'd have to get back in the swing of things. This was something of a dry run. Get up, get the kid ready, get them both to the school. If today had been the real thing, they'd already be running late.

Thankfully there were only a few students in the hall with her today, kids that lived at the school or specifically studied here during the summer. The area she was heading for wasn't even technically open yet, so it should be even less crowded. Little Nate was toddling along next to her as she kept a tight hold on his hand, worried he'd go careening off at any moment. He was a little too excited about this trip, getting to go to the school 'alone' for the first time. Interesting people everywhere, bright colors, strange devices. Sensory overload for the precocious youngster.

After a bit of a struggle, she finally managed to herd him to the new daycare center Rahne was managing. Elle knew she was in charge of some of the youngest children at the school, so it wasn't a surprise that this new addition fell under her jurisdiction. She had a feeling it was also an efficient way to stay close to her new kid while still keeping an eye on the other children. Poking her head through the door, Elle glanced inside. "Anybody home?" Unable to hold back his enthusiasm, Nate wriggled past her and burst inside, Captain America backpack bouncing wildly as he rushed right on in.

This was good. This was progress. Things had been moving ahead very quickly for the X-Men and their ilk these past few months. This past year, really. And in regards to this particular spat of growth, this program was sorely needed, and its need would likely only grow as time went on.

Aside from her own baby boy, who, luckily, remained a baby for the moment despite his leaps and bounds in physical development, Rahne Russell knew for sure there was Piotr's boy, Alex and Lorna's boy, Sarah's little girl, and that was only the top of it. Boarding school full of teenagers, it was simply a matter of luck and good sex education that they hadn't had any pregnancies among the student body, and then there was Avery's seeming certainty that she had two on the way before too long.

Greg sat on the floor clutching a large wooden alphabet block in his hands and examining it with a look that was equal parts curiosity, confusion, and interest as his mother looked about the newly finished repurposed room. It was decorated with bright colors, had a changing station, numerous age-appropriate toys, a television with a video streaming service to cue up anything the babysitter/day care provider could want the children to watch, a refrigerator for snacks - this was good. This was what they'd need.

"Ye like the letter 'Y', do ye? That's a good letter for ye?" Rahne asked her son as she glanced back to him, a small smirk on her face. As if to answer, he immediately bit down on the block and chewed a bit. Her tail wagged idly as she watched, an unconscious reaction that happened almost independent of thought while in this shape. She had slowly gotten him a bit more used to her human form, but she wasn't going to make that the standard. He was still a furry baby, so she was going to make sure he wasn't different from mom all the time.

"I'll take that as a yes," Rahne couldn't help but chuckle a bit. She'd have to watch him, though, make sure he didn't break that block and give himself a splinter problem.

She smelled them before Elle announced their presence, heard the slight crinkle of training pants as Nate walked in that clumsy, still-figuring-it-out way that kids his age had.

"Och, sorry, ye just missed us," Rahne said with a shrug of her shoulders as she turned around. Elle. Rahne hadn't gotten to know her very well at all, if she was honest. The girl had a very brief stay with the school before she decided it was time to leave, and then off she was.

"Hello, Elle," Rahne said with a nod of her head. "An' hullo t' you, Nate! My goodness how ye've gotten bigger since we last met! I'd have Greg say hullo, but well, he's still a bit young t' talk and he's really quite busy with that block."

If Nate's parents had any doubts about letting him go to the school at such a young age, they didn't show it when they kissed him good bye and turned him over to Elle for the day. She, of course, had to finish her schooling, too, and considering that when Nate was angry or scared or cranky, all the metal objects in the room began to vibrate and heat up, it was probably a good idea to start his education sooner rather than later. He was precocious and the visit from his future self showed that he was going to be powerful. Why his powers were manifesting so early was still a mystery, but Alex suspected that something had been done to the baby when he was briefly kidnapped by Clan Akkaba. He never said as much to his wife and certainly never to his child, but he would be keeping his eye on Nate's development a little closer than he had hoped he would have to.

Nate knew none of this, far too young to know what was going on. He was fast approaching his second birthday, and since the only children he had ever had to play with were gone here at the school, since they moved out of the old underground city, his playmates had been Jonny and Elle. He was very excited to have new kids, who were his own age. That meant there would be babbling and blocks and superheroes and cookies and naptime (No Nap!)

He held tight to Elle's hand as they walked, his backpack filled with his favorite toys, a change of clothes (just in case), and some snacks, and he looked around at the school with interest. The Wandavator didn't disturb him at all, he didn't know that it was supposed to. His nanny walked him into the nursery class of the school and he wriggled free to push past her, excitedly, only to slide to a clumsy halt when Miss Rahne stopped him. He looked up at her, in her half wolfen form as she greeted them both. "Hello, Elle," Rahne said with a nod of her head. "An' hullo t' you, Nate! My goodness how ye've gotten bigger since we last met! I'd have Greg say hullo, but well, he's still a bit young t' talk and he's really quite busy with that block."

"Hi!" Nate chirped, and he looked a little nervous at the sight of the she-wolf, but not because she wasn't all human. After all, Auntie Raven was blue and Uncle Warren had wings. But mostly because he didn't know her all that well, and well, he was a friendly kid... but he was still just a toddler. He looked over at Greg and said, "Puppy boy!" and it wasn't meant to be an insult. He wandered over and sat down next to Greg, picking up his own block. Experimentally, he bit it like the wolf baby did, and he frowned, "Yucky."

He put the block on top of another block and then added a third, before looking to Greg and explaining, "B'ocks."

And, just like that, school had begun.

"Nate!" Elle followed him in, worried about what he might crash into, but he didn't get very far. She took in a sharp breath at the sight of the half-wolf looming over the little kid, tensing up. The reaction only held for a brief moment, though, as she recognized the teacher even before she spoke. Elle had gotten more comfortable with these sort of things over the past year or so, but some were still shocking. "Ah...hello, Mrs. Russell."

She took a deep breath as she closed the door behind her, and had mostly recovered by the time she joined the little group. Nate's comment made her grin. "Let's hope that codename doesn't stick." Elle leaned over a bit, worried she might have to nudge the block out of Nate's mouth, but that little experiment didn't last long. "Huh, you must go through a lot of teething rings." Her joking suggestion of an industrial strength one for the baby shower hadn't been too far off, it turned out.

Elle gently slipped that backpack away from Nate, holding onto it for now. She glanced between Greg and his mom, smiling again. "He's actually pretty cute. Does he uh..." Her expression changed, as she tried to think of the proper word. "...change back and forth? Or...?" She wasn't always the most considerate, but even Elle knew she should be careful when talking about someone's kid.

"Oh! Terrier." She grinned after the sudden outburst, obviously proud of herself. "That'd be a good codename."

"Come on, Nu, we're probably late already." Piotr said as he scooped up his son without even slowing his pace. The boy had been hurrying along, but there was only so much speed his little legs could manage, and Piotr figured it would be better to be punctual than let him do it on his own this once.

"Papa late!" The boy squealed as he rose from the ground in his dad's arms. His backpack was brightly decorated in artwork his father had done, dinosaurs and a jungle reminding Nuya of his homeland, and his little red sneakers kicked wildly as they sped through the hallways.

"Oh, oh you're going to abandon me like that? Is this all Papa's fault?" The older Rasputin said, tickling his kid as they rounded a corner. The laughter rang through the hallway, heard by most of the classrooms in the wing.

"Aha! So now you see the folly of blaming papa!"

And just like that, they were at the door, and Piotr was letting Nuya back down to the floor and allowing him to run through the door on his own.

"Miss Ray! Grr!" He waved at the Russells as he waddled through the door, and stopped short as he noticed Elle and Nate. Nate, who was playing blocks with his friend Greg. Immediately he looked at his dad, unsure about the presence of these two people he didn't know all that well.

"Hello Rahne, sorry we're late," Piotr said, not noticing his son's pausing at the moment, "we were having a bit of a timing situation."

"Papa late." Nuya said, solemnly nodding after taking the social cue from his father not to be nervous around Nate and Elle. And with that, he left the affairs of adults to the adults and wandered over next to Nate and Greg.

"Hi Grr." The young Rasputin turned to Nate. "Hi. Am Nuya."

Piotr grinned, walking closer to Rahne and Elle while his son made friends. He wasn't going to stay the whole time, but he wanted to be there in case he freaked out before things got going good.

"So, yeah, I was going to be here earlier, but things kind of got out of hand this morning."

It was hard to look at these little boys, these very young children, babies still in so many ways, and not see hope in its purest, most unadulterated form. To see Nathan Summers, first of a new generation, eagerly and without a second thought sit down and play with a baby so unlike him, that was really the whole point of all of this. The school, the X-Men, all of it - so that one day, differences like that didn't matter at all. Even if Nate was very much assured to be a mutant in his own right, those kinds of differences didn't matter at such a young age.

Greg paused mid-chew as Nate sat down with him, slowly taking the block out of his mouth and observing this new kid. Eyes narrowed a bit, and he leaned forward, nose twitching as he sought to take in Nate's scent. Identifying markers, commit it to memory so he'd know this boy who just sat himself down.

"Heh - teethin' rings nothin'. We've already got some bite marks on the kitchen chairs an' had to get some particularly strong baby-proofing on the cabinets. He's already a tough wee beastie," Rahne said to Elle as she remarked. "An' I'd take Puppy Boy. 'Tis quite precious, really."

"Ahhhmmmmm-gah!" Greg's babbled, half-laughed response was... not quite the word he was led to, and may not have been as much a response as it was a simple vocalization. Rahne was sure Doug would have explained in excruciating detail what her baby boy meant by that, but for her, "Ahm-gah" had just as much meaning as it needed to.

"No, he's nae done any changing. Both mum an' Dr. McCoy say he might, considerin' both his da an' me, but as of now, that's just the way he is. S'why I try to make sure I match when we're at home like this," she felt it best to bypass the 'actually' part of Elle's compliment. She likely hadn't meant any insult by it, and getting in a huff over it wasn't going to do anyone any good.

And then, in came the third part of this little gathering of little people. Colossus and his surprise offspring. He seemed to be doing much better now, much more at ease with his new role as a single parent. That was good.

"Aye, quite late at that," Rahne said with a smirk. "Nuya, ye're gonna have t' keep yuir da on a tighter schedule, aren't ye?"

Of course, the boy was more interested in playing with those closer to his own age, and who could blame him? Greg recognized his pal from before, and his little tail wagged as he let loose a sharp and rather loud yip.

"Nuya, this is Nate. Nate, Nuya," That was one of the great things about this age. When they were so young, still developing and growing into who they'd eventually be, introductions were simple. Name, and that was about it. Everything else, the kids could figure out.

"So, city life's doin' well by ye?" Rahne asked Elle, taking a seat towards the back of the room and sitting in it. There were a few others, adult-sized chairs for supervisors.

Nate laughed as the puppy baby sniffed him and made a growling word. He shook his little tow head and said, "No, is b'ocks. Say b'ocks." He put another block on the wobbly stack and then, smiled, "See?"

Suddenly, he felt something that he had never felt before except from Cessily who now lived with them. Nate got to his feet, and looked towards the door, his eyes taking on the green glow of his powers. "Metal..." he whispered, and he looked at Elle and Miss Rahne. "Metal," he said, again, taking a clumsy but eager step towards the door.

That was went Piotr and Nuya entered, and Nate's glowing eyes locked on the man. "Ooooh," he said, feeling the pull of metal from the grown up. He didn't know what the pull was, he didn't know about Piotr's powers, but he could feel them. Mommy and Daddy told him he was going to have to learn how to control his abilities, but Nate was just barely about to be two years old. He was precocious and advanced for his age, but he was in no way old enough to do that yet. So, maybe Piotr would feel a slight vibration in whatever part of him activated his powers, maybe he would feel a slight warmth.

Nuya was set down and he joined his friend, Greg, who he called Grr, and he looked at Nate shyly as he was introduced.

Nate looked at Nuya closely as his father retreated to talk to the grown ups, (Elle was old enough in Nate's mind to be a grown up) and he gingerly reached out to touch the other little boy, "Metal?" he asked, sensing the same attraction that he had in the grown up, but sort of muffled, like when Unca Jonny (who was awtome) would put little pieces of metal around under blankets and behind pillows for him to find.

Smiling, he said, "Nunu is metal. I NayNay," he introduced, "You like b'ocks?" He extended a hand and a metal truck shot from one of the toy bins to crash into the block tower. "We p'ay! You want pa'y wi' me?"

Elle couldn't help but glance at the kids every few moments, keeping an eye on them. She was a bit worried that Nate might get accidentally scratched or nipped if they got to playing a bit too rough. She'd seen cute little puppies send kids crying for mommy before. Of course, she'd seen overexcited little kids send pups yipping and scampering away with their tail between their legs, too. There was also the chance that Nate's powers would act up, something she'd had some recent experience with.

"I can imagine. I guess it's complicated, but, uh...helpful in some other ways. He seems pretty, you know...mobile. For a kid his age." Tough had been a good word to describe him, too. "Well I mean, with his dad's name, I thought-" She was interrupted by the sound of giggles, warning them a few moments before another rugrat toddled in at full speed.

Elle smiled at the little boy, waving the hand that wasn't holding Nate's backpack. She spotted the much taller figure following him in a moment later. Another familiar face, although she had only seen him around the school in passing. "Hi. I'm Elle." She aimed the introduction towards Nuya, although his attention had already shifted to the other children.

As the kids played, she found herself with the two adults, teachers, as Rahne found a seat. Elle placed the backpack in another chair, although she didn't sit down quite yet. "Huh? Oh, yeah. It's nice. It feels more...like the way things were before. I thought I'd go back to regular school, but...you know, I thought it'd just be easier to finish up here, since I have to drop Nate off every day anyway." She wasn't going to admit any desire to continue her schooling here, if she even knew she had it. Less embarrassing to take this convenient excuse.

"Nate! Be careful!" She took a step away from the adults and towards the kid, frowning as the toy truck briefly became a metallic projectile. Once she was convinced it was an isolated incident, she plopped into one of the seats with a grunt. "Sorry, he gets excited sometimes and, well..." Elle waved her hand in a vague gesture obviously representing some sort of quick movement. "Stuff bounces before it hits me, but he knocks stuff over a lot. Might want to comb through the toybox for more, uh, potential projectiles like that."

"He is," Rahne affirmed with a sharp nod of her head. "He's growin' fast in some ways - got his teeth early, got strong enough t' lift his head early, can trot around on all fours like a pup... it's been a challenge, keepin' up with him. Other ways, still a wee baby."

She looked over at the three boys, Nate clearly taking charge as the oldest. Though if he was actually older than Nuya or not, she wasn't sure. But Nate was the boy in charge, which was fine by Rahne, as - well - he was a Summers. Being in charge was what they did. It was who they were.

"Abbbbbbbbheeeee," Greg giggled and grinned at Nate's persistence, waving his arms around and grabbing for a block, looking it over for one small moment before he decided he didn't want that one and haphazardly tossed it away, not caring where it went.

"Well, we're glad t' still have ye in any capacity," Rahne said with a nod of her head. This school, she had to be reminded sometimes, wasn't for everybody. Not everybody could handle living here on this campus, had the fortitude of character to live among other mutants, form a community. Elle had a way to go yet. She had come by her mutation in a... unique way, and Rahne wasn't entirely sure she was fully over that.

"Anything I can..." Rahne trailed off, eyes narrowing in concern as Nate began to speak... oddly. She glanced over at Piotr, who was not metalled up at all. And yet Nate could... more interestingly, he was saying it to Piotr's son too, the boy who as of now hadn't exhibited any mutation whatsoever. What this was, Rahne wasn't sure, but it was out of the ordinary. Greg was a baby, and visibly mutated from birth, but exhibited no superpowers so to speak. Just the standard perks of being a baby werewolf.

What Nate was demonstrating was something else entirely.

And then it happened, almost too quickly to react to. As Nate extended his hand, a Matchbox truck flew from the toybox and smashed into the block tower, causing both mother and son to jump in surprise. Greg's reaction was a bit more extreme, though, as he yelped and quickly yet clumsily dropped to a quadrupedal stance, growling at the offending pile of blocks that had been so rude as to startle him like that. He had no way of reasoning that the crashing had happened because of Nate - that bit of logical deduction was beyond him as of now.

"My goodness," Rahne whispered, eyes wide. And just like that, Nate had moved on. If he was even aware of what he had done, it certainly hadn't fazed him.

"He's only two years old an' he can do that?" Rahne asked in a hushed tone of voice. They were definitely going to have to be careful with this boy. If he was able to do things like this a good twelve to thirteen years before mutations typically manifested... there was no telling how powerful he'd be later on down the line.

"Aye, quite late at that. Nuya, ye're gonna have t' keep yuir da on a tighter schedule, aren't ye?"

Nuya was already waving at Greg, who had remembered their time playing together from before, and didn't see his father's sheepish grin at Rahne's words. And then he was looking at the other boy playing blocks with Greg.

"Nuya, this is Nate. Nate, Nuya."

Nuya's father was staring at the Summers boy, who'd taken quite an interest in both himself and his son from the moment they'd entered the room. Nate's glowing eyes were locked on Piotr, and felt something inside his shift, felt as if he was suddenly warmer somewhere deep where his powers came from.

A shiver went up his spine. Piotr had felt a kind of subconscious attraction to metal manipulators before, when he was powered up around them. But never before had he felt a sense of heat from any of them. Nor had they ever exhibited any kind of effect on him when he was still flesh and blood. To say he was perturbed would have been accurate, but he tried to shake it off with a laugh.

"Heheh, takes after his mother, doesn't he?" Piotr said to Elle and his friend Rahne; who had also subtly picked up on the strange way Nate was speaking about Piotr, and more importantly, Nuya. Whatever Nuya felt coming from Nate, the boy shook off as yet another new experience he didn't yet know about the modern world. Surely it was normal for everyone to feel like that inside outside of the Savage Lands. Or at least he would had his attention not been more focused on his new friend's blowy eyes.

"Metal?.. Nunu is metal. I NayNay. You like b'ocks?" Nuya nodded, and his eyes got wider when a metal truck shot out of a toy bin to crash into the block tower. Almost immediately Greg was in defense mode, growling intimidatingly at the blocks that had fallen over. Nuya laughed even as Elle tried to convince Nate to calm himself, and as the girl sat back trying to explain Nate's actions, to the smile and reassurance of Nuya's dad that the smaller Rasputin seemed fine by the display, the game was on.

"More! Papa, NayNay make t'uck fly!" He said, turning to look at his dad for the briefest of moments before focusing once more on Nate and Greg.

"He's only two years old an' he can do that?" Rahne's hushed tone of voice sounded off in Pete's ears. The man looked over at her, mild concern displayed in his eyes.

"What's more, apparently he can feel the metal inside my boy. Heck, I've never heard of any of the metal manipulators being able to sense metal inside me when I was powered down. Much less to think that someone could sense it in a two year old who's made no indication of even having powers."

Nuya, however, was more interested in picking up metal objects and tossing it to Nate in an attempt to watch him do the truck trick again. Nothing about the scene before him seemed out of the ordinary, especially around here.

The adults were looking at him weird, and Nate looked back at them, the glow fading from his blue eyes. He blinked up at them, and then realized that he had made the car fly, Nuya crowing in excitement and tossing a truck at him. Though he didn't make it fly, he held out his hand to catch it and it was like a high powered magnet pulling metal out of the air, the truck snapping into his small hand, squarely and with a significant amount of force.

Looking down at the toy, he looked back at the adults, and he remembered that Mommy and Daddy had told him not to use his powers... he hadn't meant to, but he did use them, and now Miss Rahne would be mad, and Elle would tell Daddy and he might get a spanking, though even he would admit that his parents almost never spanked him. There had been a swat on occasion though and that was enough to make him very worried about what was going to happen now.

Tears began to well up in Nate's eyes and his lower lip began to tremble. "NayNay sorry. No tell Daddy. No tell."

He put the truck down hastily, and backed away from it. as if it would burn him, and yes, perhaps there was some heat residing in the truck now that Nate's thermomagnetic powers had activated it, but not so much that it would scorch the rug or anything. No, the little boy was much more afraid of getting in trouble than he was of being singed.

Blinking away the tears, too young to feel any shame in crying before his new friends, Nate looked up at Elle, especially, because Mommy and Daddy had put her in charge of him.

"Please," he said, "I be good. No more metal."

"Yeah...he might be daddy's little boy, but he takes after his mom in a lotta ways, too." Once that initial concern had passed, Elle didn't seem too worried. "He can't move anything too big, or for more than a little bit. You get used to it." She shrugged. "You know how you kid proof cabinets and stuff? Put the knives up outta reach? Just picture that, but...uh, with a more specific kinda focus. Like I said, he just knocks stuff over a bunch."

Rahne's concerns were easy to address, but Piotr's confused her for a moment. "...you have, like...pins from a surgery or something?" She frowned, and it took a few more sentences for her mind to turn to other sorts of explanations. Right, he must be that other big metal guy she'd heard about Micah training with. Their power sets didn't really overlap, so she'd never really been involved in any of those types of classes. "Oh, right. There's some people at home he does that around, too. I guess it's mostly harmless, though." Another shrug.

Her attention returned to the kids when the toy Nuya launched attached to Nate's hand, causing her to peer over with her eyes narrowed. "NateNate..." She trailed off as the toddler got all teary eyed. "Aw, c'mon..." She rose from her chair with a sigh, hurrying over to the trio. Elle was wary of the growling pup, but he seemed more concerned with the fallen blocks than the other children. She did try to avoid spooking him or Nuya as she approched, squatting down to put her hands on Nate's shoulders.

"Okay, okay, I'm not gonna tell daddy. Everything's okay." She smiled and nodded. "No more metal. Good." Elle waited here while he calmed down. "You have to behave here at school with Miss Rahne and your new friends. Okay?" She twisted to look back at the adults. "Good thing today's just a test run, right?"

Rahne watched the interplay curiously, paying close attention to how Elle interacting with Nate. The poor kid was scared, distraught, but not because of what he could do, but instead because he might get in trouble with it. He had the same fear of parental retribution as any kid his age would have, begging not to be told on.

Rahne was just glad none of the kids got hurt. The potential for electromagnetic repulsion forces causing damage to fragile babies and toddlers was pretty high, and that was simply a fact of mutant life, it seemed. Greg posed a potential threat, and so did Nate. The only one who seemed harmless as of now was Nuya.

"'Tis almost like he's a metal detector, too..." she said quietly to Piotr as Elle commanded the boy's attention. "Like he can sense what's just under the surface as well as what's right out there in the open."

Greg toddled towards the two of them, Elle and Nate, cautiously sniffing, curious about what was going on. The new boy seemed upset, distraught for some reason and he couldn't tell why. But he could tell that the kid was getting attention, and a good part of him wanted that, but he wasn't sure how to take it aside from pawing at Elle a bit, tapping his right hand at her a few times.

"Well, in the grand scheme o' things, makin' a truck fly is... nae quite so terrible, really. We may need t' see about inhibiting his powers a touch at future times - Greg, stop that!"

The little werewolf paused as his mom called out his name, looking over to her with wide eyes.

"Sorry. He's a bit... fond of bein' the center of attention if he can help it."

Elle calmed him down, wiping his tears away, and he blinked up at her. "I not bad?" he frowned, "Mommy and Daddy say no make metal whoosh. I whooshed." He wiped his eyes and said, "I didn't mean to."

His nanny promised not to tell, and told him he had to try harder. He nodded, "I try and I try. It make my teef itch," he said, seriously, rubbing the heel of his hand across his perfect white teeth.

Miss Rahne started to talk and if Nate knew she was talking about inhibiting his powers, he would be in tears again. It probably wouldn't happen anyhow, because Mommy and Daddy didn't believe in such things. They would just insist on him working harder, on learning how to be a good boy with his powers. Lorna was a daughter of Magneto, and Alex was a Summers. They came from strong and stubborn stock. They believed in hard work, and in personal responsibility.

All of those were concepts too big for little Nate, but he would learn.

Greg came over, pawing at Elle for attention, and Nate forgot for a moment about what the grown ups were talking about. He hunkered down and reached out to the puppy boy, petting him on the head. "You good boy, you good boy like Nate Nate. We go play. I no make metal go whoosh, no more. C'mon." He toddled off a few steps towards Nuya, before turning to see if Greg was going to join him. "C'mon, Greg. We play wif Nuya. It fun! All blocks. All blocks!"

"...you have, like...pins from a surgery or something?" Elle's question was mildly amusing to the Russian behemoth, for few people affiliated with the X-teams didn't know what the Colossus's powers were. Honestly it was kind of refreshing to meet someone who wasn't familiar with him.

"Is more that I can turn my body into solid metal at will than anything else, Comrade. While I do not know where my metal goes when I am not powered up, that he still manages to feel it within me is quite notable."

"Oh, right... I guess it's mostly harmless, though."

"Harmless in a relative sense. It's one thing to be picked up without knowing, entirely different if he has a tantrum and turns someone into modern art." More than any telepath, Piotr Rasputin was not a fan of powers wielded by Lorna, or Joseph, or Nate. And that was mostly due to Magneto. To know someone could simply control you and you had nothing you could do about it? It was a serious worry that ran deep.

Though Nate didn't make the truck fly, the boy held out his hand and the truck snapped out of its arc and across the air into his small hand, making a smack as it struck true to Nate's palm. Nuya was about to clap and find something else to toss to his new friend when he noticed papa and the two ladies looking at Nate. Tears began to well up in Nate's eyes and Nuya's new friend looked on the verge of crying.

Nuya wanted to help his new friend, but he had no idea why everyone was looking at Nate like the were, and his confusion kept him rooted in place. Why were they not happy with Nate? Nate set the truck down hastily, and backed away from it, promising that he'd be good and stop playing with the metal, and Nuya felt unease at the prospect. As Elle came over, Nuya instinctively moved close to the other boy, somehow feeling that a show of solidarity was in order.

"'Tis almost like he's a metal detector, too... Like he can sense what's just under the surface as well as what's right out there in the open."

"It is a strange thing, certainly. I can't remember a moment with any of the others with his powers who made mention of feeling my metal when I wasn't in that form. Maybe they simply didn't bring it up, or maybe Little Nate here is on a level above. Just the ease with how he uses his power at that age is amazing." Piotr watched at Greg closed in on the others and tried to gain a little attention for his own.

"Well, in the grand scheme o' things, makin' a truck fly is... Greg, stop that!" the wolfling stopped in his tracks and looked at his mother, and Piotr hid a laugh behind his hand, feigning a cough until he came back in control.

Nuya, seeing that Elle was not going to tell on Nate, decided he could take a step back, and watched as Papa talked with Miss Ray. He didn't really understand the concepts they spoke of, but he was trying his hardest to soak in the things he could make out. Elle might be trying to reassure the other boy about what was going on, but the other adults had a more serious manner about them. Whatever had happened, the small boy from the Savage Lands felt that it was somehow still not over. Movement out of the corner of his eye stole his attention away from his Papa as Nate hunkered down and patted Greg on the head.

"You good boy... C'mon, Greg. We play wif Nuya. It fun! All blocks. All blocks!"

"Yes, w-we play b'ocks! Is is good!" Nuya waddled over to the blocks excitedly, his attention for the adults stretched past its limit now that something more immediately rewarding presented itself. Quickly enough he had a tower of three blocks in front of him and he looked to Greg, offering the puppy boy a block of his own.

"Want b'ocks?"
