Elle squeezed the little kid's shoulders and nodded as he reassured her he'd be good. "It's alright, Naters. Everyone knows you're doing your best." She smiled before releasing him, twisting to look back at the adults. "I said they should get him one of those things like Micah wears, but they're not interested." She nodded as Colossus shared his worries. "Yeah, I mean, right now it's nothing big, but..." Tantrums were looming on the horizon, and she had a feeling he'd just get stronger as he got older. Her attention returned to the trio as Greg pawed at her leg. Elle twitched back just a bit when she looked down and spotted him, although Rahne calling his name seemed to distract him from her reaction. "Oh, uh...hey, fuzzy." She hesitated, not sure how to respond to the plea for attention. Nate broke the ice, drawing a giggle from her as he petted at the puppyboy. She joined a moment later, gently rubbing his fur. As the other two toddled off, returning to their blocks, she helpfully turned Greg towards the pair and gave him a nudge to get him started. "Off ya go, blocks are waitin' for you." She stood, wiping her hands on her jeans before walking back to rejoin the adults. "So, you think he'll be okay here?" Elle kept her voice low, keeping an eye on the kids while she chatted. "At home, everyone's used to it. And, you know, can take care of themselves." |

"Well, if there's any one place that's safe f'r Nate t' practice an' learn, this is it," Rahne said, nodding her head. Nate was going to learn, they all were. This was a new era, a bold and exciting one at that. The beginning of a new generation of mutantkind, and if Nate was any indication, there could very well be massive differences between them. Evolution jumping forward, so to speak - with young mutants developing abilities and mutations earlier than the previous generation had. Greg, much like a puppy, reveled in the attention he had acquired for himself. His little tail thumped on the floor a bit as a wide smile spread across his face. He couldn't understand why the others seemed concerned over Nate. That was beyond his reasoning skills for the time being, but he was perceptive enough to notice that whatever it was, it seemed serious. It wasn't the same kind of attention he enjoyed. And Nate didn't seem to like it much either. But then the mood altered, Nate shook it off and took a more upbeat tone of voice. Greg didn't entirely understand the words being told him, but he got the sentiment well enough. With Elle's encouragement, he bounded along in his clumsy manner, almost losing his footing on the way. He scrambled, his little legs and arms quickly working to regain solid purchase on the floor as he caught up to the other boys, grabbing onto the block offered to him before falling down on his side. Rahne startled in her seat a bit, certain that that little tumble was going to set him off crying and wailing, but no such thing happened. He shook his head, righted himself, and let loose a garbled "Rarrmphh". "Tough wee beastie, he is," she sighed in relief. "Nate'll be fine here. An' we'll spare as much time as we can t' help him learn, and to learn about what he can do ourselves. I'd say this is the best possible place he could be, even." |
