Electrokinesis/ Peak Human Abilities
|
Date: February 26th 2015 Time: 09:00 Location: SHIELD Training Grounds, Rocky Mountains. So this was finally happening. Brian had accepted his fate as an instrument of the capitalist world and was about to take his first proper foray into the world of espionage. While in truth Brian was not entirely new to world of subterfuge and intrigue, most of that work that he had experienced while part of it had been spent brainwashed serving the crazed scientist Doctor Hyde. The doctor had created what was the closest thing to a perfect assassin as the tools of the twenty first century could provide, he wasn't quite Bucky Barnes, or Black Widow but they had experience on their hands, and should Brian live for as long as they had then one day he might just be like them. Just hopefully without the same level of jadedness, though arguably Brian had already exceeded them both on that front, given his choices and views on the real world. Within the next week or two Brian would be shipping out to Madripoor, once again donning the mask and make up of the Destroyer in the hopes of bringing intel on the cesspool of Asia that attracted all manner of scum and villainy, the real life Tatooine so to speak. Falsworth wasn't the only agent assigned to this mission, Ruth was also going to be taking part in the cage fights, and Joey was going to be there for support which made the mission somewhat easier for Brian to accept, knowing that someone he could trust and ultimately knew from outside of this business had got his back. Despite being at the very edges between human and superhuman, Brian still felt the need to train and prepare for this mission, it was one thing to have the powers, but it was another to reclaim an identity that had been forced upon him. To make sure that he was comfortable with taking this mission on, the shrinks on the helicarrier had assessed him once, twice and thrice until he was finally given the all clear to take it on. The next stage was to get himself back in fighting shape, the cage fights that the Destroyer would be attending would be far worse than anything he had done since he returned to civilisation, and to get back into the right frame of mind Brian needed to get away from the comforts of the Flatiron and the city. Having arrived at the SHIELD training facility two days ago, Brian had already found himself in a fairly steady training regime, despite it being winter still he still rose just before the sun and went out for a run that took him well into the mountains and back again without working up much of a sweat. Then there was the weights training, the assault course and the CQC combat which he worked on with some of the other instructors at the facility despite being well above the strength levels of the majority of humans. This morning though Brian's training was taking on something of a different twist. These cage fights were intended to show off the mutant powers of the fighters - not too difficult Brian could pass off his enhanced abilities as mutant gifts from the X-Gene but they would want flashy and exciting too. These were humans after all looking to make the most money they could off of the backs of those that were doing the leg work, and not to mention the other fighters were likely going to be just as ruthless if not worse than Brian was. Which meant that he needed to up his game when it came to the use of his lighting based attacks, which in truth was the main reason that he came out to this facility in the first place. Ensuring that he could book out the firing range for a few hours Brian had donned the newly made version of the Destroyer's uniform and started off at the external range - where he could practise the shots that would take the most difficulty. Hitting the button that triggered the release of the first targets Brian's eyes scanned the immediate horizon for the first signs of the black outlined targets that he was aiming for. Several seconds passed before the first person appeared not ten meters away from him, a shot that was relatively simple and one that he had made countless times. Lifting his hands and pointing them towards the target, his brain took over and opened the sodium channels that were unique to his hands and discharged two blasts of the blue hued lighting. With a flash the bolts hit their target ripping through the paper and leaving it singing around the blast marks. Now all he needed was to wait for the next target, or targets to pop up. |
