"I've called somebody to talk to you, just stay there, Ms. Bishop."

Roamana sat in a chair in the hall, head in her hands. She was embarrassed, rightfully so. Only here three days and Roam had made a fool of herself (and possibly given a kid a black eye). She'd only once been in trouble at school before, but this felt a lot worse. Here she was, trying to make a good impression - punching someone in the face didn't really get that across.

She certainly hadn't planned to do it. She had just been reading in the library when a boy, trying to be funny, took the book she was browsing through out of her hands and went to walk away with it. When she tried to get it back, the boy stood over her (he was at least a few inches taller), and shoved her shoulder. Roam just snapped. She had no intentions of doing it, but suddenly a fist went flying at the boys face. He wasn't innocent in this mess - he sent at least one punch landing square on her jaw before they were pried apart.

Roam rubbed where she was punched, the area feeling a bit sore. She felt like an idiot - never before had she even considered physically hurting someone like that. It felt like we was out of control, and she hated it - but that was just it, she was out of control. Or rather, she had no control. She had no control over being kidnapped and nearly killed, no control over seeing the dead body of a mutant boy who couldn't have been much older than she was, no control over getting rescued and brought here (not that she was complaining, but still), not much control over now living in this place. It wasn't that she wasn't grateful, or didn't like it here; quite the contrary, the school was amazing. She loved it here. She just hated not having any sort of power as to what was going on.

Roam heard footsteps coming towards her, and simply held her head low, staring at the ground. It was hard to look someone in the face after what she had just done.

Two whole days! Bobby had been back at the Mansion for two whole days and still hadn't caught up with Kitty... or Sam, or Rahne, or he'd even settle for Doug at this point even if he knew Doug wouldn't want to see him back around.

He'd started the day in a mopey mood as he contemplated crashing one of Kitty's training sessions just to see her when he'd been summoned by the Headmaster.

It seems that another recent enrollee had a similar power set to his own and apparently this student was having trouble adjusting to life at the school. The solution was to assign the girl to Bobby and hope that he could help her get a grasp on things.

He shook his head as he walked through the corridors, wondering again if Scott and the rest weren't making a major mistake giving him any real responsibility. He quickly tramped down his self-doubts though, if he went into this apprehensive this Roamana Bishop would see through him right away.

He reached the room and just turned the knob and entered. He couldn't help but smile at the dejected teenager sitting in front of him. If it weren't for the discoloration of her hands she looked like any other teenager called into the principal's office.

He was sure the bruise on the side of her face hurt a great deal, but the girl seemed to be stoically enduring the pain.

"Wow!" he said nodding towards her, "should I worry about the condition the other guy is in?"

Honestly, Roam had only once gotten into this kind of trouble before - and it wasn't half as horrifyingly embarrassing as this was. She felt like she was supposed to be making a good impression here, making people like her in this strange, new place. Six days in, and she'd manage to make sure at least one kid hated her. She groaned, trying to figure out what to say to her parents if the school let them know about this. She was beating herself up pretty bad about it, though her episode was understandable after the ordeal she had experienced.

It still haunted her every night. She could barely sleep between nightmares, seeing White and Black hovering over her, imagining what would have happened had Longshot not come when he did... It put a knot in her throat just to think about. The fear never left. Every day, she walked and breathed in fear that they would somehow return and retaliate. She was always on high alert, always on edge; not a good combination with the normal teenage moodiness and a lack of sleep. Roam was bound to snap soon, it just happened to be at a student.

"Wow! Should I worry about the condition the other guy is in?" The teacher's lackadaisical approach brought Roam a little relief. Obviously, she wasn't in that deep of trouble, or this isn't how the conversation would have started. She rubbed the forming bruise with a small wince, and looked up at him. "He probably looks better than me, can't punch to save my life." She tried to crack the joke, but made herself feel like more of a fool, and ended up looking back down at the ground. "I'm sorry for doing that. I really didn't mean for it to happen."

Already, feeling better about how this meeting with a student was going compared with the nonevent his training session with Idie had gone yesterday, Bobby instantly relaxed, grabbed a chair, turned it around backwards and sat facing Roamana.

He chuckled, "Honestly, while we definitely don't want you making a habit of this, it's not the first time a couple of students have gotten into a fight, at least you didn't start using your powers on each other." He remembered some of the wrestling matches he'd gotten into with his roommates over the last Twinkie or some of the ridiculous fights they'd gotten into over who got the last bowl of Sugar Bombs.

Snapping back to the present he forced the smirk off his face, "Sorry, just remembering some of the silly things we got into fights over when I was a student."

He held up his hand, palm up and conjured a lump of ice, he then dug into his pocket to find the handkerchief that he happened to be carrying and wrapped the ice in it, "Here, this should help some with the swelling."

He held it out to her, but continued with the conversation, "So, you want to talk about it? I don't know about you, but sometimes it helps me put things in perspective to just get it off my chest and tell someone about it."
