"I ever tell ye how good it is t' have ye back in action?" Wolfsbane asked, looking back to Iceman with a smirk. "'Tis always a bit strange when people take leave of absences, so I'm glad ye're back." With a lopsided grin he replied, "It's good to be back." He glanced over at the boy, "And between you guys and me, this beats the heck out of being an accountant." It was a sure thing the word would eventually get around of how he spent his sabbatical from the X-Men. He was waiting for people to start taking shots at him about being a paper pusher or what not. He rotated his arm, moving the shoulder, that the bullet had been embedded in. "I need to figure out how to get something like that out on my own though in the future." There was actually an idea or two that might work, but he'd need to practice some more without having something lodged in his body before trying to use the technique to remove a bullet. Finally hearing the sirens now and figured it would be best to not be a walking and talking icicle. He concentrated on letting his temperature rise and the ice dissipated. At the same time he focused on keeping the Sissy Serpents frozen in place. "Mmmmhhhh," his hissed as the dull ache erupted in his chest and shoulder, "I knew it was going to hurt, but it still surprises me every time." |

"I still have a tough time imaginin' you as an accountant t' be perfectly honest," Rahne said with a smirk as she folded her arms at her chest, shifting her weight off of the wounded leg. She could already feel it beginning to mend itself, that light tingling in her muscles and skin of fibers and tissue rapidly tying themselves back together. Her healing was never quite as fast as Wolverine's or her husband's, but she was a far sight quicker than the average human being. This injury wouldn't last for too terribly long, but it was a bit sore for now. But still - Bobby Drake, accountant. It was funny how that seemed so strange to her. She herself, like many of the X-Men, had become so accustomed to the lifestyle, so thoroughly entrenched in her career as a mutant educator and rescue worker and villain thrasher that she could hardly imagine any other life. She wondered sometimes if that was a weakness. Could she ever be prepared for a world that didn't need the X-Men? Could she find a career outside of her current one if the need arose? What would she do? "Well, 'twas the wise an' venerable Patrick Swayze what said 'pain don't hurt', aye?" Rahne said with a small smile as Bobby shifted down. At the very least, there was no bullet in him, and no gaping wound either. He'd gotten good at doing what he does. Enviably good. "'Tis strange that ye've got people who'll deliberately do stuff to the, selves, change themselves on purpose, an' f'r what?"Rahne said as she knelt down with some effort by the redhead, Princess Python, who remained unconscious near her similarly KO'd pet snake. She could smell it before she lifted the hairline and found it - what looked like small metal plugs embedded into her skull like electrodes. "Our new friend aside, I'm guessing none of these are naturally superhuman. Who does that, honestly?" ((We could wrap this up in one more post)) |
![]() [size0]Say the dog and butterfly, in the air they like to fly. Dog and butterfly. She knew she had to try, and she float back down to the warm soft ground, laughing - she don't know why, but she had to try, she had to try. Dog and Buttefly. Avatar by Natalie, signature by Olga. My graphics set is complete again! Thank you so much! | |

Bobby watched fascinated as Rahne's wound knitted itself back together. It never ceased to amaze him the wonders of the mutant X-gene. "Our new friend aside, I'm guessing none of these are naturally superhuman. Who does that, honestly?" Her question shook him out of his reverie. "I dunno, I mean they see how much crap mutants take and then they willingly do this to themselves." He shrugged his shoulders for emphasis. "It probably would be interesting if they could trace where they got this tech and enhancements from." He was pretty sure S.H.I.E.L.D. would be doing just that very thing, especially if an idiot like their leader could get a hold of something as dead useful as that cape was. He surreptitiously strengthened the ice holding Anaconda down. As exhilarating a work out it was tangling with this crew he didn't really fancy going another round right away. He definitely wasn't in tip top shape and needed to log some Danger Room time. He reached out and cracked his knuckles by intertwining his fingers. "I don't know about you, but I think I'm going to slip down to Harry's for a nice juicy burger." He closed his eyes, imagining the flavor. "After than I think I'm going to catch some rays by the pool for the rest of the afternoon." At that moment a squad car pulled up and disgorged a pair of uniformed officers. Neither immediately drew a weapon so Bobby took that as a positive sign that the local authorities weren't going to try to arrest them. He pointed at the three that were incapacitated, "If I were you gentlemen, I'd wait until the Feds send someone to round up those three. They are too dangerous to just try to handcuff and cart off to jail." |
