Telepathy (I'm not a bloody ninja)
“Equestrian?” Betsy smiled, gently helping with the word that Fia seemed to be struggling for. “I’ve been riding since I was four, although these days it’s just a hobby, as I’ve not competed since I was seventeen. I never stopped riding for long, but I had other priorities at the time,” her parents had at least, pushing her academically although it was never ill meant. In the end she hadn’t even gone to university, although Betsy didn’t feel as if she had suffered or even lost out for her lack of a degree. Laughing a little as Fia said she didn’t do well with cold, the White Queen wondered if the girl had yet gone through a New York winter. Although far from the coldest place on earth, it still wasn’t overly pleasant and once the wind chill hit, that could make things really rather unenjoyable. It was different from her own home too which had been a little strange at first but Elizabeth had quickly adapted, having more important things to concern herself with. Nodding though, she finished off her hot chocolate. “At least you’d been here before the school, so it wasn’t that much of a culture shock,” shaking her purple head a little as the young lady teased about ‘date night’ the telepath got up and excused herself over to the counter, shortly returning with two cupcakes. “Behave, or I won’t let you have one,” she teased as she set down one in front of Sofia and delicately began to eat hers. “Mm, not tonight, I’ll call him later anyway. Our schedules are usually a little chaotic, but in the grand scheme of things, that’s rather minor, especially when I can use my telepathy to talk to him whenever I want.” Her communication range was superior, as talking was not the same as controlling or the like. Narrowing her bionic eyes a little, Betsy smirked. “Now, are you going to be teasing him in class about this? I’ll be warning him you know, I’m quite sure you’d like to stay out of detention because I never met a person who wanted to be in it.” The threat was a harmless threat, although her promise to tell Warren about the evening was quite true. Sofia seemed fine and unhurt by the events of the night, but that did not mean Betsy didn’t want to ensure that was the case entirely. “Now eat your cake up as I should get you back to the school. I’d not want your teachers to think that I was attempting to lead you astray.” |

Wind Manipulation/Flight
"How does it feel?" Fia asked, wondering about the telepathy. She knew Rachel and Mrs Grey-Summers and Ms Frost were telepaths, but she never thought to ask anyone -- especially Rachel -- how it felt. "Does it feel like you are there with him, and you can see what he sees? Can you watch a movie together like that?" It was something like a new thing to Fia. Before arriving at Xaviers, she hadn't met anyone else with powers, let alone a world-class telepath. Arriving at the school, Fia had begun to see that there were many other students and adults who had far more... Intrusive capabilities. Like Mr McCoy for instance. He was blue. And Wolverine? He had those... knives. And Mr Summers -- never being able to see the world for the colours that it had. Fia supposed that as far as sacrifices went, seeing red for everything wasn't that bad. Her thoughts went to Sean, who sneezed gales with each breath, or Ricky, who had bat wings and hypersensitive hearing... She was an aerokinetic. Honestly, it seemed like she was getting a good deal. "I don't know what I'd do if everyone could hear my thoughts all the time. Or I could hear everyone's. It's so... I just don't think I could deal with that much information," she said, taking a bite of the sweet treat. Fia nibbled round the edges of the frosting, while listening to Betsy. Their little tete-a-tete couldn't go on indefinitely; Fia had to go home before she broke curfew, though somehow she felt that hanging out with her instructor's girlfriend was going to be okay. She polished off the last of the cake and chocolate, and nodded to indicate that she was ready. "Thank you for the chocolate, and the cake, and well... Saving my life," Fia said, as they stood to leave. "I don't know if there's anything I can ever do for you... But if you need me, you know where I am." |
