POWERS

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Crystal has full control over the classical elements: Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and is extremely proficient in them. She has had control over the elements on an atomic, psionic level since her exposure to the terrigen mists and can both generate and manipulate the elements.

Aerokinesis
Crystals control over air can span a 30-mile radius, with gale force winds of up to 115 miles per hour. This equates to a level 12 hurricane on the Beaufort wind scale. At her full expression of power, Crystal’s tornadoes can cause extreme destruction. When combining it with the other elements, she can create firestorms, dust-storms, or large tsunamis capable of wiping out coastal towns. With her aerokinesis, Crystal is also able to accomplish flight. Her usual speed is at 100 miles per hour. Utilising molecules in the air, Crystal can also create highly durable forcefields of compact, psionic molecules. This helps her to breath while under water. She has also used these forcefields as shields.

Geokinesis
Her control of Earth allows her to create tremors and quakes of up to 6.7 of the richter scale. This effect can be magnified if faultlines of tectonic plates are affected. It is unclear at this point of her ability extends to natural metals, but they are usually included in her manipulations, not isolated.

Hydrokinesis
The maximum volume of liquid that Crystal can control is currently unknown – in combination with her aerokinesis, she has demonstrated the ability to create storms large enough to stay planes. In terms of an offensive weapon, Crystal uses her hydrokinesis mostly in the form of cyrokinesis – the manipulation of ice. Ice blasts, spears and blades are part of her arsenal, and she wields them with accuracy and speed. By controlling hydrogen and oxygen atoms in the air, Crystal is also able to create water from a seemingly desert environment.

Pyrokinesis
Crystal’s manipulation of fire is by far her strongest suit – likely due to her natural passion and temperament. She can cause flames to ignite from mere oxygen, and cause it to take any shape or form she desires. Her control of the flames is unparalleled, and it burns only where she instructs it to, with the air even directly by the fire a cool, touchable temperature. Crystal’s flames usually burn at approximately 1,100 degrees Fahrenheit, but can go up to 1,500 to 1,600 degrees Fahrenheit, at which it will burn blue.

Other Skills
Besides her powers, Crystal possesses an Inhuman metabolism. This gives her physical skills – strength, speed, endurance and reflexes-- that are superior to human athletes. Crystal possesses a heightened immune system, like the rest of her inhuman race, which makes her less susceptible to human illnesses.

WEAKNESS:
As Crystal’s powers are elemental in nature, she can control their span and reach, but not their effects. For example, she can control the size and scale of a storm, and it’s radius, but unless she is made aware, Crystal would not know of a subsequent flood or the destruction to a town’s reservoir. Her powers are also directly linked to her energy, and she ceases to be able to use her abilities were she physically, or mentally tired. She can manipulate all the elements simultaneously, and this is no more difficult to her than a singular element. She can use her powers indefinitely as long as she is not tired; however, should she be using the full force of her powers, Crystal would likely tire out after forty-five minutes. She would need to sleep, or rest – just like any exhausted athlete—for a time, before regaining her strength.

PERSONALITY
Born and raised as a part of the Inhuman royal family, most would find Crystalia to be aloof, stand-offish and distant, but only on first meeting. The younger sister of Medusa, current Queen of the Inhumans, Crystal never truly had a ‘normal’ childhood, even for the people of her race. She knew her responsibilities to her people, and was patriotic and loyal to the Inhuman race.

As a young Princess of the Inhumans, Crystal was adored. Beautiful, compassionate, and full of youthful energy, Crystal was approachable, more grounded than her older, more intimidating sister. She was openly affectionate with her familiars, and this helped paint the royal family in a gentler light.

Even with the restrictions and boundaries of being a part of the royal family, no one could stop Crystal, the youngest in her family, in growing up to fulfil her own passionate nature. Crystal had no qualms in standing up to her older sister and even Black Bolt, oftentimes advocating for issues and causes that she felt strongly about. She is emotionally driven, courageous, sometimes even fearless, and possess a kindness that some found a contrast to the first, more distant impression she gives.

She adores Earth – the blue planet that she watches so often from Attlian – and has several people she counts among friends. Crystal visits with the Fantastic Four often, even standing in for Susan Richards when it was called for. She holds dear friends close to her heart, and would do whatever she could to aid them, if it was required of her. This loyalty and generosity has inspired others to reciprocate with her, and Crystal has found that she has never been turned down were she to ask for help.

Having matured since her younger days, Crystal is more mindful of her words and her temper – which burn sometimes, as hot as the fire she wields – but do not mistake her conscientiousness as her nature mellowing. She is as driven and determined as before, but still a firm believer of fate and the writings of the cosmos. It is simply that fate cannot be accompanied by inaction, and Crystal is determined to do whatever it takes to ensure the safety and happiness of herself, her family, her loved ones, and of course, her people.

HISTORY: Before the Beyond

Crystalia’s life had only truly begun when she was exposed to the Terrigen Mists at age eleven. Before that, she was a girl – a lost girl – one who wore the crown of the Inhuman royal family, and their insignia on her lapel, but one who had no calling, no purpose, no destiny. Like those who had gone before her, that ended when she emerged from the mists. The ring of black around her hair, cutting through the blonde, had appeared then too, a mark of her growth. Of course, she had gone through the mists, younger than her peers, but with the blood flowing through her veins, was there any doubt that she was destined for greatness?

The House of Agon had been proud of her, for she had been gifted by powers so close to the elements. Crystal dedicated her days and nights to practice, to training, to her education, all of which prepared her for the path she was set to walk down. She was a Princess, a representative of her people, to speak for those who had no way to speak for themselves. It was a mantle she accepted gladly, honoured by the responsibility.

Her duties brought her to Earth for the first time when she was almost eighteen years old. She was sent to learn more of their culture, more of their ways. Her sister, already Queen, had established connections with the heroes of Earth, and Crystal came as a delegate of the Inhumans, to confer with them, to understand them. She spent time with the Fantastic Four, and later, stood in for Susan Richards when the Invisible Woman was pregnant with her firstborn.

It was on one of those trips, that Crystal encountered the X-Men on Earth. Dark forces that combed the Earth had leeched into the minds of one of their heroes – perhaps a man who wasn’t yet sure he had goodness in him. Scott Summers, unable to help the crazed Pietro Maximoff, turned to the Inhumans for help, and Crystal agreed immediately to take him back to Attilan. There she would nurse this pained soul back to normalcy, with his surliness, all borne of an impatience with everyone else who moved far too slow for him. But Crystal was not afraid. She controlled the elements, and even if she could not slow time, the world could freeze around them at her command and there, for a short, blissful time, he could calm, because when the world stopped for a fraction of a second, then she had a chance to see him for him, and not a mere burst of speed.

But despite her best intentions, Crystal could only abate his pain, and not rid him of it. Rescue came from the High Evolutionary. A power so great that even the Inhumans gave him due respect. Pietro awoke from his madness, but Crystal had long given him her heart. A kiss was all they shared, before he returned to Earth, and she, to her role on Attlian. Her family had not approved of her devotion to the speedster; it was not done, they said. She was a princess, and her responsibility was to Attilan, not to the mutants of Earth. Quelled by their protests, Crystal locked her feelings away, and resumed her diplomatic missions.

Post Beyond History:
All she recalled was Medusa coming to her to say that the cosmos were being re-written, that Uatu the watcher had come with news, but then in a split second, it seemed that nothing had changed. She dreamt of a war, a crazed war, in which she lost her life and her family, where Ahura took the throne, with a silver-haired girl, but it was just that, a dream of nothing-ness.

Now, she has been sent back to Earth again, to spend some time among the people, at the bidding of the council. The mutants might prove a useful study, they had admitted, and relations with them, improved relations could be advantage. And so, as always, Crystal went. She touched base with her friends, the Fantastic Four, and with the help of that family, arrived on Earth, temporarily staying at the Baxter Building.

SAMPLE RP POST:

"Are you ready then?" It was the same question her sister had asked her before each diplomatic mission. How many planets had she been too, how many parts of the universe? Months she spent away from Attilan, always at the instruction of higher powers. It made her miss home, of course, but it was also an adventure she craved.

"Always." She had replied with a smirk and a smile, before in a rare moment of affection, her sister embraced her with a lock of her fiery red hair.

It was not her first time to Earth, and she delighted in going back. Her friends were always hospitable and welcoming, and she was never made to feel like an outsider in their mist.

"Princess, it is time." A handmaid came with to fetch her, and Crystal rose from where she sat by the window of her room. The view of Attlian was beautiful – the soaring towers with their gleaming turrets, the milling life that grew below, the sun that sat, nestled in the horizon. “You have an appointment with the leader of the X-Men. The Queen requests that you visit with him, and with Prince Ahura.”

"Of course. I would have done that even if she had not requested it," Crystal replied, a tinge of humour lacing her tone. Lockjaw, she knew, had gone back and forth often, bringing reports of his favourite little prince. A loud bark in the courtyard drew her attention, as the large dog paced. "Lockjaw, we're heading back to Earth, you know where to take me, don't you, good boy?"

No words were necessary, as Lockjaw heard her thoughts loud and clear, pawing excitedly as she scratched him behind his ear. Taking a bag from a waiting steward, Crystal put a hand on the giant dog, and in a flash of white and blue, they were gone.
