INCOMPLETE
Thanks for joining the Yu-Gi-Oh! RP Forum. We hope that you will enjoy your stay here and be happy for RPing. This is a freedom RPG that everyone can enjoy. But, let's not stop there. We will give you a good guide to this RP forum starting with this topic. This forum links to the wikia in order for easier access to duel. Dueling in the forums is basically impossible to do, because you may never know of what your opponent might do. As a result, we use the wikia for this. The link is seen below.
The Link: Yu-Gi-Oh! Fanfic and RP
Of course. We will start with the main and basic rules.
- Don't Godmod: This is the top priority rule of ANY RPG forum. Godmodding is so obvious. Signs can be such as when you control your partner's character when fighting. Using very powerful techniques and not even showing signs of fatigue or side-effects. Dodging every possible attack without any reason. And much more that you think is considered unfair. Declaring hits and confirmed ones are also to be watched out. Just before you post, just make sure that you proofread it of godmodding.
- No OCC Spamming: This is another rule in RPG forums. Please don't spam topics that aren't supposed to be used for spamming. Do not make a post that only has OCC talking. We have the OCC forum for dolts like that. We will heavily dock rewards if you ever do OCC spam. If you want to discuss, please use the chat that's provided in the forum.
- Please, Be Friends With the Staff: We are always looking forward to help you in any way. Just don't annoy us to the point that we may never talk to you again.
- No Double Accounts: Don't be sneaky into creating two accounts so that you can have more characters to RP with. You are never sneaky in this forum (Okay, we can't stalk your PMs). If we ever find out that you do have a double account, we will force you to choose one of the double accounts. The other that you have not chosen will be deleted, along with the characters. At cases, we may punish you.
- Apply Common Sense: There are many things that aren't really named here...but please, common sense is a characteristic that everyone should understand about and shall be used here more often. Don't be racist, don't make sex jokes, don't be stupid at inappropiate times, etc.
It's very obvious that you would be very concerned with your character creation. Obviously, you should read all the rules first. Once you have fully understood the rules and have asked all confusing questions to the mods, you are able to apply for a character. Use the template that we have provided for you, and wait for the admins to approve it. There is no limit into what you write, but we advise you to be more developing with your character. Please also follow the guidelines that are below
- Plot: We're on the same timeline as the plot of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. Except, every card can be used (other than the Forbidden cards) in official games. You can use Dark Magician, Elemental Heroes, etc. Nothing that's here would be considered old or "so long ago". Unfortunately, we do not have Signers, Dark Signers, Crimson Dragon, Chosen Ones, Millenium Items, etc. None of that. We have also completely removed ourselves of canon reference, and put our own RP characters in. Do not make us spot anything that's canon to the series.
- Starters Quality: Please make sure that your characters have all things that are starter quality. The deck that's given to them are all optional, but, if you read more onto deck details, you'll find out.
Before you fill out your character template, follow the guidelines that are below here.
- Duel Points: Characters are going to need something to prove themselves. The experience that they gain through dueling will be counted through here. These duel points are mainly used to buy new cards that you want.
- Deck: Because we are using the wikia to duel, the first five cards that you draw are to be random. Your deck is labeled and numbered #1-40 in any way you like. This way, the cards that you draw wouldn't be the same every time and it won't be so cheap. There are different types of cards that are legendary and rare. Remember to specifically read it.
- Dueling Qualities: This is the very special thing that describe your character. Is your character a special duelist? Are they specially created? Can they be capable of summoning a special monster? And much more...
After you have read all the rules, you can look at the example below to have a better clear-up of our rules.
Overview Example
Read this after you read all the rules Alright, let's do an example. I am a duelist. To begin, I would want to pick out my first 40 cards for my main deck, and the 2 cards on my extra deck. I also have to pick out my one legendary card and the two rare cards. After that, I would want to choose my 2 DQs. If I really love to do turbo dueling, I would definitely want to choose the Turbo Duelist DQ. After all, this DQ is required in order for you to turbo duel. If I want to evil, I would pick the Shadow Duelist DQ. With this DQ, I can now choose powerfuly dark cards that are exclusive to other normal people, such as Earthbound Immortals and the Wicked Gods. There are a wide variety of DQs that you can choose from. Once that's done, I would use the 50DP (not earned DP) that is given to me and spend it for additional cards that I want. By going to this forum, I can ask how much a card would cost, and the mods will reply how much DP it will need. Once I spend my DP for new cards, it'd be time to RP! I would find a person first to RP with and talk plans with that person. After that, I start up a topic with an interesting title and start RPing. When we get to the point that we want to start a duel on our topic, we move straight on to our wikia, and duel there. If we want to talk during the duel, we simply move back to the RP forum. One of us has to copy and paste the duel into one post. After your talking is done, go back to the wikia and duel again. We keep on doing this until we think it comes to a good conclusion, and we end the topic. After that, we submit our topic into the Paperwork Cataloging and wait for it to be reviewed. Once a mod reviews our topic, the mod will give us DP. This DP that's given to us is Earned DP and we may either spend it or save our DP. After we update our character, me and my partner might start another story thread. Or, I could RP with another person. The cycle is never ending. Once I have earned 75DP or more, I am able to select another DQ, but this time, I can select at a much higher rank. If I want to go for Slifer the Sky Dragon, I know that the requirements for that are: 1 Legendary Slot Open, Level 10 and Higher Summoning Requirement, the Divine-Summoning Capability, and a whole lot of DP for it.
