What is Zahnerburg? Well, my friend, I am so very glad you asked! Zahnerburg is a hidden school, shielded from the eyes of the regular folk; Only A'uthoii know of it. It can be found, should one BE an A'uth, within the wilderness of the Rocky mountains. A'uthoii? A'uth? Huh? An A'uth is a special subspecies of humans, almost completely indiscernible from those who are not. A'uthoii is the word which describes our species as a whole, A'uth meaning a single being. A'uthoii are only found on the North American continent, mostly in the center of America, though some have been found as far north as Montreal, in Canada, and as south as Mexico city. Only three have ever lived on either seaboard, however. How do A'uth children differ from normal children? And how do they get to Zahnerburg? To normal humans, they merely have vibrant eye colors. (AFTER they've been to Zahnerburg. Before then, their eyes are of a moderate vibrancy.) As children, they tend to be much more distant or easily distracted as others, being mistaken for ADD or ADHD by many doctors, who are most certainly not A'uthoii. They get over that by the age of five, at which point they start seeing things. What they see is unique to each and every A'uth. Some will see ribbons of color dancing through their peripheral vision, some begin to see stuffed animals or toys move around and talk on their own, some see animals or people who were once alive, but long since have been gone. When they turn seven, another A'uth (a human will never see this unless they look in the child's reflection) will see their eyes begin to take a subtle glow, and a certain 'click' goes off in the child's mind. He or she will find the nearest mature A'uth, (often running away to do so, as the A'uthoii are scattered very sparsely across America) who will guide them to Zahnerburg. What happens at Zahnerburg? A'uth children are given an education, like any human being, why not? But that is not all that happens. They will, as soon as they enter the school, become blind. This only last a few hours, though, as their eyes change colors, one that reflects what their future powers will be. Further information on powers and what colors represent which will be described later. If they are sparsely scattered, and only in North America, how many are there? Very few, my friend, very few. A couple hundred, maybe... What hides the school from normal humans? Magic! ![]() Why do the children get taken away from normal humans? Are they completely cut off from society? They are cut off from society from the time they are brought to Zahnerburg until they turn 21. (They usually get there within a few days after their 7th year 'click', but its not completely unheard of for them to come a few years late. Not everyone is punctual, we understand.) They are taken away because their powers start to show when they are seven or eight, which can be extremely frightening for human parents, and they are all too often dangerous to those who don't know what they are dealing with. So why not have them live their lives with those who are experienced? More quesions? PM me (Peter Kaiser) with them, or post here! I'll try my best to reply as soon as I can! |
