Yuchengco Auditorium; Birth of the Apocalypse

It was a quiet late morning around 1030 to 1130. It was a free cut for my first subject of the day. To do something out of the ordinary, I went to the Yuchengo 7th floor also known as the Yuchengco Auditorium. I was currently watching the Harlequin Theatre Guild and Lasallian Youth Orchestra practice for a joint presentation before the term ends. This presentation was one of the many to celebrate the coming of the Centennial year.

It was a rainy time but there was still a bright light to see the campus from the 7th floor glass window. "No homework but I have to read on my subjects, exercise and do a lot of stuff. Yet I find myself here in the 7th floor of Yuchengco watching HTG and LYO for some reason I keep to myself. But at least I am not being lazy at home."

To my surprise, I saw a janitor who entered a door to my left when his equipment was near the door to my right. "Kuya, bakit po? Pinapanuod ko lang sila sa paghanda sa kanilang palabas bago matapos itong term namin." Yet no response and he kept on moving towards me.

It was dark but when the light hit his face...OH MY GOD! His face was so decayed to the point it was really gray and it was falling down. He started to run towards me. First instinct was to fight back since being a martial artist...BUT! to my realization, the space here is too small to move around! I might get bitten or what before I even try something using my martial arts. It was like, "wow", of all the times I can't use my martials arts. So, I ran towards the other end.

To my luck, I saw the mop!...It may not be an Arnis stick but it will do. I whacked his head and blood just splattered all over the floor. I analyzed the janitor and I saw it wasn't just his head that was like that. His hands, feet and it seemed like his whole body as well.

*SCREAM*. I looked at the stage and another janitor was like that as well. I ran with the mop. Everyone scattered but the janitor chased a HTG female student. I ran as quickly as I could and as soon as the janitor opened his mouth, I used the mop's other end and stabbed towards the inside of the mouth. Almost everyone had left, the ones who remained in the Yuchengco Auditorium were I, the HTG female student I saved, the director of HTG and a frosh girl from LYO and a highschool friend of mine who also is part of LYO. We left the auditorium and checked outside the big glass window and to our surprise, the whole campus was running around while there were those like the janitors chasing them.

Thinking aloud, along with my heavy breathing like I was about to get an unexpected asthma attack, I said while looking at the ones with me:

"This maybe one of those things people talk about a lot but didn't expect to happen... We have to work together to get out of the campus alive... May God help us all..."

"Was that w-what I think it was?" asked the frosh girl to no one in particular, wondering whether or not anyone else knew what was happening. The voice of fear was apparent in her.

The HTG director looked at her oddly, unsure herself, and nodded "I-I think..."

The group began to walk forward, slowly and carefully evacuating the Yuchengco Auditorium when suddenly, the frosh girl cried out, and fell to the floor. Everyone turned to look and ran up to her at once, helping her up from the floor. Her LYO org mate grabbed her by the arm gently, asking if she was okay.

She nodded, "Yeah, I'm okay. Stupid janitor bit me." She clutched her leg, showing off a small bite mark, blood casually dripping down from it.

The HTG director came up to her and knelt down beside her, taking her handkerchief and wrapping it around the wound. She turned to face the others.

"A little help here, please?"

"Wait!..." I said.

She has been bitten and it might cause her to be like one of them.

I looked to my highschool friend who was also part of LYO and said "Ok, you are close to her compared to us so you make the choice or I will. We leave her behind because she will soon be like them and might be a problem for us later or the other choice which I prefer but is more painful: we cut of her leg, wrap it around with bandages to prevent death from blood loss and we will have to support her from then on with her walking problem."

My highschool friend said towards his orgmate "I'm sorry for this and I hope you forgive me for making this choice. I'll cut off her leg. I'll use my shirt to bandage it and I'll support her despite me being skinny."

I looked to the HTG director and said "Sir before we head down, let's search the stuff of the janitor's equipment and the auditorium for things we can use to fend them off. A gun would be nice but being a student has its limits and if there was one, it would be in the security office."

After searching, all we got was the mop, a metal bar and wooden door stuff that were to be used as props for the play, flutes left behind and a bottle of soaped water (the one the janitor's use to clean windows).

The HTG director asked "Where do we head now? We don't even know if it is safe outside the campus."

"Do you have a car sir? If yes, where is it parked?" I asked.

The HTG director had a blank face and could show only little hope because of the car. He replied "Yes and the keys are with me. It is parked around the sports complex. The way going to the swimming pool. It still has half tank but I am worried on getting there."

"Since that is the only way we can get all of us to move faster then that is where we are headed. We have to be sure to be cautious and watch out for each other." I answered.

I looked to the HTG female member, seeing her still in shock because of what happened. I showed her my hand and said "Let's go. Take the metal bar and use it when you have to. We will work together to make it out alive"

Despite being in shock she still was able to say in reply "Thank you..."

ooc: Colonel, to avoid confusion, can I name the LYO guy, and girl? Feel free to say no so I can edit my post later on :)

"WHAT!?" She screamed, unable to believe what it was she was hearing. "You can't be serious about cutting my leg off!" She started panicking, begging for someone, anyone, to do something else. He stared at his eyes, begging.

"Sorry, Val, there's no other choice," he replied, sounding genuinely sorry about the thing he had to do.

She shook her head and slapped him, "Fuck you, Jay. All of you! How do you know what's going to happen!? You're going to cut off my leg just on an assumption? You should just leave me alone!"

Val moved his hand off of her and attempted to stand up, but she failed, stumbling back to the ground. She could no longer hold back the tears and broke down into quiet sobs.

I looked at Val and moved closer to her.

"Ok...Stop crying first then listen to me. Don't think we wanted to cut off your leg, but it could really be something that would turn you into one of them. I'll make the choice now. One is we cut off your leg but you don't like it so let's pick an alternative: We bandage your wound, continue to get to the car of Sir Director and get out of here...BUT! the moment you start having symptoms like them or start to act like them, we lock you in the back of the trunk or we terminate you..." I told her.

Jay replied "Ok...I'm sorry for that choice I made. But I hope it is not infectious and we can find a cure for this disease."

I addressed to all "Let's start moving. The sooner we get out of here, the sooner we can get to the car and out of this campus. I entrust Val to you Jay. Let me be responsible for the two."

The group had 2 ways from here on: The elevator or the stairs.

"Let's analyze first the consequences of the choices we will take and then see which will be safer for us but we all know both lead to more of them anyways."
I mentioned.

For the elevator, it would be the fastest way down to the ground floor, but the moment it opens at a certain floor and there are some or a lot of them right outside the door, we are good as finished.

For the stairs, unlike the elevator which is a high risk indefinite success, we can take the floors one by one slowly to avoid any confrontation with them. But seeing the leg of Val wounded, it will take time and we may not know the outcome of the infection Val has.

"Ok, I'll take responsibility. Let's take the stairs but the moment there are too many to handle, we'll hold them off until the elevator gets to out floor." I said.

And here the group starts to mobilize...
*NOTE*: I'm ok with the names Game Master. haha. I thought too it would be confusing and hard to keep on typing LYO girl and LYO boy haha...

Val wept, knowing that she had no other choice. Jay went up to her and hugged her tightly, apologizing for what he was about to do. Seconds later, a loud scream echoed throughout the Yuchengco Auditorium. Finally moving on, the group made their way down the staircase slowly. Val and Jay were at the back of the group, limping their way through each step. They had only gone down one flight of stairs when they heard footsteps echoing in the staircase.

"What is that?!" the HTG Director whispered, looking back at them. The rest shrugged and sighed. This was just great. They hadn't even left the building and already there were more zombies. How did they expect to get to the parking lot?
