Welcome!

"Redwood" is a gaming system intended to be used with Midkemia Online (www.midkemiaonline.com), an Iron Realms Game. It is meant to assist players with automated combat responses, augment activities such as fishing, and provide a more comfortable environment overall in which to enjoy the game. It took on the name Redwood because it started as a basic system for me to cover the bare essentials, and was never intended to become as big as it now is.

Redwood is FREE and there are no plans to ever charge for it. The most updated release of Redwood can be downloaded from the System Information board. If you can't see this board, it is because you are not logged in! Only members of this forum are able to download Redwood, but don't worry; your e-mail and information won't be used for anything nefarious, and you probably won't even hear from me outside of a notification that there's a new system update once in a while.

If you have any questions, shoot me an e-mail or a message - my contact information can be found through this forum. And while you're here, stop by the Ideas board and let me know what new features YOU'D like to see in Redwood!

There should be a syntix similar to TELLS or some other method of recalling things said, perhaps if they were placed in separate worlds. This is rather crucial because I often don't see what is said on CT/GT/etc. when I'm hunting or moving quickly. Or even just looking away.

This is something that I've been wanting to do for some time already, but haven't coded yet. So I'm going to give a quick outline, here, of what's to be expected.

THREE commands; I'm not sure what they'll be, yet, since GTS is an actual chat channel.

  • One will track the past 5 CT messages
  • One will track the past 5 OT messages
  • One will track the past 8 GT/GNT/GTS messages

I'm likely to make it so that this clears itself on login. I may or may not make it so that the user can clear it their selves.

Suggestions to this structure, please post them. I can probably have this implemented in the next update to the board, which will likely occur when I am done with the Arcana defenses.

The coding is now operational for this on CITY TELLS only. It will most definitely be included in the next release, which should be soon. May have order and guild tells working by that point.

Output looks like this:

ctells
--- City Tells: Last 5 Messages transmitted over CT ---
Athi: Was he the thunderous voice?
Olbiad: And now we hear the Deputy's confession of wanting to see a Moredhel ride another...
You: Ah. Let's take my comment in the context it was meant as. 'I kinda miss the days when NOBODY could shout like that'.
You: Granted, Radakail is a nobody, but I was meaning the word in the other sense.
Shlean: I was just making a suggestion.
