What if a second human-lizard war in the early or mid 1950s?

Let's say we get a real loon succeeding Stalin in 1953, some particularly hawkish type(McCarthy perhaps) elected in the US, The Emperor finds an even worse successor for Tojo and Hitler chooses a real fruit instead of Himmler to succeed him.

The result is that the "Big Three" and the rest of the powers who worked together in the original worldwar decide to do a war of revenge in the time period of 1953.

The technology is more advanced than in the first time around, but it's not as advanced in the period of Colonization where Germany alone was able to cause serious problems for the race. Even in the colonization books, the lizards were worried about the Americans matching their capabilities by sometime in the 70s.

This is quite interesting because it means that there'd likely be some territorial concessions from the race and freeing of human nations but there wouldn't be the expulsion of the race from the entire world. The net effect is to strengthen the human position relative to the race, but not be a curbstomp. Remember, like Germany after the canon Race-German war, the human powers would have seen many cities nuked and be forced to rebuild. They would be victorious, but it would be a costly victory.

I'm thinking the war might be 1953-56.

What are the direct territorial gains that the "big three" powers and their allies going to do? Japan regaining Korea is one that I can see. Bulgaria nabbing Thrace from the lizards is yet another one but beyond those two I don't have much of a clue.

What new puppet states either reemerge or get created out of whole cloth? a shaky new "United Provinces of Central America"/Central American federation are likely ones I see the americans creating. The soviets likely revive mongolia, revive their turkestan puppet, create Kurdistan, create a puppet Manchuria(under Mao, perhaps).

Do any other states get to reemerge? If so, my votes are on a smaller turkey, Tibet, Sikkim, Nepal, Bhutan(these four because of awful climate), Mexico(zero chance of the US tolerating lizards on it's southern border), Spain, Portugal and a republic of China less Manchuria. Given Race troubles in the region, a unified India getting to win it's independence is a real possibility.

The long-term impacts for the "big five" nations would be discrediting of certain more hawkish elements given the costs of the war. The hawks would be further weakened since the lizards are shorn of a decent portion of their conquests, rendering them less of a threat.

With less of a Race threat, there'd be less human unity in TTL and more infighting. For starters, the US/soviet union's cordial relationships obviously don't last beyond the recovery. Second, expect China and India to be rather unhappy with the northern powers for leaving them to fall to inhuman monsters...

The war would be mixed for the human space programs. On the one hand, they all get nuked but on the other, the Race's attempts to block human space travel would be forcibly ended. Also, there'd be more stolen Race tech so I suspect it'd turn out to be a net plus.
