American Trainz

Posted by PerRock (Administrator) at 2 Dec 2014, 14:48. One comment

Well it's now public starting around the new year, Amtrak Trainz Group will be rebranding into 'American Trainz Group.' You can read more about this process in the blog I'm writing here:
Rebranding Blog Part 1: Introduction
Rebranding Blog Part 2: The Logo

Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about the rebranding. Questions & problems specifically regarding the website should be posted in this thread.

The answers to a few questions I've gotten:

No we're not going to be removing any content because of this change. Nor are we removing any staff.

There will be a forum restructure, some categories will be merged; others eliminated, etc. You're posts won't be removed, unless they break the rules.

Content; the Amtrak Trainz Group P42 will not be changed. I have some ideas of some new content to make for American Trainz. As well as some content updates to make to older stuff; however none of that will happen until I am much further along in the website coding process.

Can you help/be staff/beta test? The application process to becoming staff is staying the same. If you are staff you get to beta test. That being said there is some help you can do:
The downloads section is getting a major overhaul, part of that process includes larger screenshots of the content. If you want to submit screenshots you've taken of our content; I'll consider them for use on the downloads page (no guarantees).

When will we see this change happen? The new webpages I'm working on already have the new branding on them. The 'Cards' theme for the forum will continue to say "Amtrak Trainz Group" on it until the official release; which at the same time I will make the new webpages available.
Post any question you may have!

This is all still very much a work in progress, however here is a preview of what the new AMTZ will look like. Pictured below is the mock-up of the new download page.

For Staff:
Spoiler: click to toggle

Winners & entries to the Screenshot competition will be featured in the banner at the top (where my P42 picture is) as well as some other areas on the site.

More mock-ups and previews to come.

The delayed NTD releases are up!

Sorry for the delay. I had Trainz issues last weekend, then got a virus over the week. But everything is back up & running. So here are the releases we were going to release on National Train Day.

The BBLs can be found under 'Train Packs'.

I had hoped to get a public Alpha release of my P40 out as well. But due to problems with it, I've postponed it for now.
