About our move

We're pleased to announce that American Trainz Group is moving. While most of this is back-end improvements, here are some notes as to the changes.

  • More Content releasing, easier. Our old hosting was kindly donated, however on a website maintenance side we had to go thru a 3rd party which made releasing content sometimes difficult.
  • New domain: www.americantrainz.com We've been American Trainz Group for a while now, we took this opportunity to update our URL. The prior URL will remain online for a while but will not receive updates to.
  • Ability to add new services. We're not making any promises about new services, but with our new hosting the ability is there. Once we're up and running we'll take a look at what new services we may add.

So that's roughly the changes you'll see. Like I said most of the changes are back-end stuff that won't really effect your access to our website. These changes are only for the main website, and not the forums; however we are considering some changes to the forums, but they won't be implemented until after the website migration is complete.

Finally, look forward to some content being released when the migration is complete!

Dear Trainzers,

As you may know, the situation on the N3V forums have taken a turn for the worse, with management shutting it down and rewriting the rules after a considerable period of tension and conflict arising from various issues with N3V's handling of T:ANE and the software itself.

A concerned group of us predicted a declining state of affairs quite some time back, although the latest turn of events took us all by surprise too. The future of the Trainz Forums and even N3V itself looks bleak, and because of this we have created a site that we envision to be solution to everything wrong so far and also a continuation of a centralized Trainz community.

It shall be a warm and friendly watering hole for everyone from casual Trainzers to content creators young and old can chill. There's also plenty of exciting new features such as content uploads, personal photo galleries, live chatbox, huge PM allowance, embedded content, post ratings and user reputation systems.

You are cordially invited to join us at this new site, a Trainz Forum v3.0 if you will. We are committed to providing to all Trainzers a conducive discussion and sharing environment, with lessons learnt from N3V's mistakes and built on the basic principles of tolerance, respect and understanding.

A growing number of well-known content creators have already put their vote of faith in us and we hope to see you there too.

Service Interruption

My 30th one of our web hosts will be performing maintenance. Any downtime is not expected but may happen. It is estimated that such down time will only last a few seconds. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

This will become a board announcement closer to the work date.

A statement about TANE

Posted by PerRock (Administrator) at 19 May 2015, 11:06. 0 comments

AMTZ content creators are allowed to support whichever versions of Trainz they desire for their content. Basically we will not be requiring all staff update their content to TANE standards. That being said we will have a TANE issues reporting thread in the Support section so that you can list any errors or problems you discover that is unique to TANE with any of our content, and we will look into updating said content. We believe that most content should work in TANE with little to none improvement.

Do you make content for Trainz? Do you want a place to distribute it? American Trainz Group is looking for new staff members who are interested in making content for Trainz.

In the recent months our content output has slowed due to outside commitments from our staff. We're looking for active community members to join our ranks and help keep us a destination for Trainz content & discussion.

Applications are open to anyone; they are reviewed and voted upon by the current staff. Appointed staff members get access to our hosting system for their content, early betas and some exclusive releases, as well as some exclusive resources for building content.
