What makes a clan great? Its members. What makes its members the best? Well of course there is activity, but there are many other factors that can make you better than the opposition. This post outlines small things you can do and improve on in order to help you to become more elite. Be the best, be Brutal Forces. Feel free to reply with how you feel you contribute/perform when it comes to the following, and how you could improve: Trip Awareness Many PK trips and fights are short prep, so the more aware you are of trips, the more active you will be. So make sure when online you always have something open which will make you aware of trips or fights. It could be forums, IRC, teamspeak, or just having your PM on in game. The ability to get everyone on their computer to a PK or fight within 5-10 minutes is what will make us successful on short prep. Tanking Every clan has their great tanks. But what really matters is consistency across the whole field. Except perhaps a few members with really poor connections, there is no reason that the majority of us cannot be good tanks. The best way to improve is experience, but you can always practice eating your anchovy pizza at various other places - busy clan wars worlds or even fight pits. Also, read up on all the guides available on tanking if you are new to the concept. Aspire to be better, and see every time you are piled as a challenge. Standard of Gear Taking shortcuts on gear will have a negative effect on your tanking and the level of sniper damage you take. As a sniper, while a binder may save money taking a rune square, it allows me to snipe him much more easily because I can identify him a lot easier. Being cheap and using items such as rune med/square instead of a large and kite is not a problem because it looks bad, its a problem because it will make you perform worse. If you want to really push the limits, return in Corrupt Dragon Skirts. Binding - Rune Clothes If binding or even blasting, have a plain blue t-shirt and shorts/trousers. Don't wear robes, take off rune plate and legs to bind. It is essential that everyone does this. Why? It means its much harder for their snipers to identify you. The bonus of robes are negligible and not worth it. If everyone wears the same, it becomes at least twice as hard for snipers to pick you out. If you are in your own green/pink/etc clothes, you will get sniped a lot more. The more people in blue clothes the better, so go take a trip to Varrock now to change. Style Versatility To be a great asset on the battlefield, be able to perform more than one style. So if we lack blasters, you can take those next deaths. If we lack binders, likewise. Or if we need more snipers, you can then step it up. Even better, have pharaoh sceptres stored in your bank. These allow you to change magics in under 30 seconds, meaning you can change from being a sniper to a binder or the other way round in seconds. Speed of Returning Have P2P for fast returning, be on the right magics to return. Binders/Blasters normals, rangers/snipers ancients. Have your bank sorted. Your items should all be together and you should be able to withdraw them in a matter of seconds. Don't stall or waste time returning, see it as a challenge to do it without wasting a second. On P2P, everyone should be on ancients and returning should take about 30 seconds. Having everyone return very quickly is essential and affects the numbers we have on the battlefield greatly. Community How do you contribute to the community? Clans aren't all about winning fights, knowing those you fight alongside is as important as the fighting itself. There are plenty of ways you can get involved - post actively on forums, be active in IRC, be active on teamspeak, be active in game, add fellow members on MSN/Xbox/etc. There are plenty of ways to get involved, its up to you to utilize as many of them as possible. Aim to get to know as many Bf as possible. Combat Level We pride our self for being one of the highest level clans in the game and the competition is hotting up. Lots of clans have rising averages and we need to keep a step ahead of the game. If you aren't completely maxed out, your work is not done. Aim for level 126 and nothing less. Its not cheap, but its a price worth paying for excellence. Not to mention the benefits of those extra prayer levels during fights. That extra prayer is so handy for praying when being sniped, anti-sniped or for when sniping. Looting Don't do it. You should be fighting for the success of the clan, not for your bank or your death potential or anything like that. Banking is out of the question and punishable. Picking up items when its highly likely you will just die with them, in doing so wasting food space and your run is foolish. The only exception I would give is use of the Yak in P2P for items worth 2m+. Anything else isn't really justified, and will harm Brutal Forces. FoG Gear In CwA, especially melee/bind fights, full druidic makes a huge difference. And having everyone wearing it looks professional, and makes us perform much better. So even though its not mandatory to have it, if you want to do your bit to put Brutal Forces a level above our opponent - get your FoG gear and get it charged now. Ancient Mace This can leave level 126's with 130 prayer. It can leave the lower levels with prayer above 100. Essential for matched or no returning wars. It gives you extra prayer to use aggressives, to put your prayer up when you may be piled, etc. It is one of the factors that can give you a huge edge when the fight is close, and save you from running out of prayer. Get this item, it is very much worthwhile. Explorers Ring You get this ring for completing the Lumbridge Achievement Diary and trust me - its worth it. Mainly useful for matched option fights, it allows you to recharge part of your run 3 times. This is very useful when piled with low run and can allow you to tank for much longer and run down our opponents energy. In many fights its the difference between a victory and a loss. So if you haven't got one - now is the time to go get one. |
