Guide to Understanding Teamspeak 3
Hi I've brought this guide about Teamspeak 3 and getting to know it much better. The following things will be discussed:
- Entering a Teamspeak 3 Server Address into the program
- Adding a Teamspeak 3 Server to your favourites/how to access them
- How to set up your microphone, username, and other options
- Safety Precautions on Teamspeak 3 (Things you should watch out for)
- Controlling volume on individual users
- Other information about Teamspeak 3

How to Enter an Address into TS3

Entering an address sends you to a certain server, for example, one of my TS Servers, “ts36.gameservers.com:9148”. To enter that, look at the picture below:

Posted Image

As you can see in the picture above, I have opened up a tab that has the word “CONNECT.” Click that. You’ll get a pop-up like the picture below:

In the above picture, I have placed the TS Server address, ts36.gameservers.com:9148, into the blank space. Once I click “connect,” I will be sent to the Server. You have now entered a TeamSpeak Server.

How to Add a Server to Your Favourites/How to Access Them

When you add a Server to your favourites, you can go to that TS Server without having to enter the TS Address every time; it’s like your favourites bar on a Web Browser! (i.e. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.)
Here’s how you do it:
First, enter the TS Server you wish to put on your favourites bar, for example, enter my TS Server (ts36.gameservers.com:9148). Look at the top of the Teamspeak 3 Window and click “BOOKMARKS” which is right next to “CONNECTIONS.” In the picture below, I have already clicked “BOOKMARKS” and, as you can see, it has the options of “ADD TO BOOKMARKS” and “MANAGE BOOKMARKS.” Click “ADD TO BOOKMARKS” if you would like to save the TS Server you are currently in to your favourites in TS3.

To access your bookmarks, go to the “BOOKMARKS” tab again and instead of “ADD TO BOOKMARKS,” click the “MANAGE BOOKMARKS” option. You get a pop-up window like the one shown below. The purpose of this is so you can change the name of the Server to what you would like to call it; for example, instead of “Best Place Around” I’ve set mine to “TS3 of Epicness.” You can also set your name in certain Teamspeak Servers, for example, in the picture below, I’ve set my name for the TS3 Server to ϟKRl||ƩX – Eric.

How to set up Microphones, Username, and Other Options

Everyone has to go through this part of the Teamspeak process in order to be fluent with TS3. To access the TS3 Setup option, look at the “SETTINGS” tab at the top right, then, scroll down to “SETUP WIZARD.” Now you have a pop-up like the one in the picture below. Look at the 6 things that they will help you configure:
1.Choosing your Nickname (The default nickname you’ll use for new Servers)
2.Microphone Settings (Choosing the microphone plugged into your computer)
3.Testing your Microphone (let’s you hear yourself to make sure it works and is at right volume)
4.Useful Key Binding (Not always useful, but used to remote access muting/talking/etc)
5.Select Sound Pack (Choosing a Male or Female voice to notify you of changes)
6.Select Plugins (Uncheck both boxes, neither are useful for what we do)

The last part of the setup is telling you that you’re done with the setup. Before you click “FINISH,” uncheck the two boxes above, because they will open up a new window which causes lag and is annoying.

Safety Precautions on Teamspeak 3 (Things you should watch out for)

There are a lot of no honour people out there and they'll go to great lengths to take everything away from someone. Make sure to not click on very weird links or enter random TS3 Servers.

Controlling volume on individual users
All you need to do is right-click the person, and select "CHANGE VOLUME"

Other information about Teamspeak 3

There's a whole bunch more to TS3 than RuneScape, people also play other games or even just come to simply chat. You can find all sorts of TS3 Servers with people who just wanna talk.
