Even if this sounds like a great idea, and I respect it, but it is definitely not going to happen in the near future, if we look at this from a realistic point of view. However, thank you for the suggestion. |

The thing that is hard is people that ask for print requests but give minimal requirement in terms of design. It's hard for us desginers to come up with something new every time. If this happens, I would require 3 other designs which would depict the style and design you wish me to include in mine. |

Resource staff could perhaps have a more frequent release of various graphics along with tutorials or if not that, then perhaps you could attempt into looking into designing and coding a theme a month with full graphics only exclusive to boost to help with the themeing database. The request staff could help out with releasing graphics when the requests are empty or haven't been used in a while to keep them on their toes or at least in an active stance with boost. Service Staff appear to have very little to do besides the reviews which will probably be met with little to zero response in the future and thus perhaps a more pro-active service could be looked into that will prove more useful and keep them occupied. Despite the fact that the genre isn't focused on services, it could never hurt the board or it's focus to have a different service as opposed to reviews. If this isn't possible, then perhaps they should spend the time into advertising boost, because relying on the present isn't going to push boost into the future. Community Staff could be doing so much more and not just with Contests, the lack of new topics in the Discussion areas has been obvious and the focus of their job should indeed revolve around the community area and that is more than just a post here and there and a new topic once in a while. I can only hope with the Carnival coming up that they would get a higher focus than the rest of the staff. Boost could be doing so much more with the resources and staff team behind this board, but at the moment... it seems to be idly lacking in all areas as if waiting for something to spark the interest again. |

I agree with Flavius on this. It is extremely hard and time-consuming to do something like that. I know that myself seeing as I was (until now, having a break) a volounteer and have troughout all these years offered free designs and prints to other people. I'm fine with doing it, but seeing as my own staff do not have the time for it, I won't attempt to add this yet until we're all sure of what we can handle, and what we cannot handle in terms of services, designs and etcetera. Now, Driver, I adore your lengthy post, and I'm glad to see someone takes their time to write some real feedback and to be honest in that same post. That is great constructive criticism. Let me comment on it. Unfortunately, some of our staff are rather quite busy and inactive in the resource department. We cannot do anything with this. Our idea was of course to steadily release new themes and graphics for the members, but as usual, the resource department takes a lot of time and commitment so I could say it is somewhat understandable that it takes time. I've talked to some staff members and they seem quite enthusiast about their new work they will be probably releasing. Hopefully it'll take less time and get released soon, nothing else I can say about this. We would need also some ambitious fresh blood in the team, but we can hardly find somebody interested enough for this position with the knowledge of both designing and coding. We can barely find anyone at a skilled level at either one of them. I agree with the request team. They can help out on this, but so far, our team consists of limited staff members at this point, with time. I belive we're having a discussion in the manager lounge about all of this inactivity and what to do next. Actually, I may have bumped into a different situation, but since you've said this, I'm going to consider this a lot. I've always thought of the service team to be one of those teams that have to do the most. That's why in my attempt to balance teams, I've deducted work from them so that they would focus on documentations and reviews fully, with of course, smaller services being watched over. I may have to reconstruct the entire balance system once again, to find a pleasant line between teams. Our goal with the system was to make all the teams similar, in work. Seems like it hasn't been balanced well enough. I agree on this wholeheartedly as well. One of their new jobs that we added was to provide support to the members and to add polls in this area to discuss what the members would want implemented and give them sneak previews and updates, and just be the connection to the members, being more close to them. I have to discuss this with Jon and seeing whether it will be able to work out and if anything is going to happen with this. As you can see, each team needs a few improvements, but I could say, from all, the community team seems to be working the best and we'll be having discussions to further this team and other teams. We do know we have great people on the team. We're all friends and I love (no homo?) each and single one of them. But, there is this issue that not all of them are active. They're either busy or not. We seemed to be fine before opening, but after that and the cracking, everything went downhill, which saddens me. We do have a nice goal and we aren't quitters, but just like in any board, the most problematic thing to work with is staff inactivity or loss, when you don't have enough people to rely on. We will hopefully somehow get over it and start anew. We need to provoke the dedication and the goals of the people that came here to work, as it seems like the interest of everyone has dimnished. |

herp derp, didn't read lol. I think you guys should try focusing more on the staff dedication instead of trying to add more and more things. I personally have not been seeing the staff around the forum, and it would be much more interesting if they participated in more topics with the regular members. There are only like 50 posts on this board per day. I'm sure a stronger community should be the main concept of focus for Boost, seeing as how resources are covered fairly well at the moment. |
