With Mick Garris' adaptation of the Stephen King novel Bag of Bones going before cameras very soon, the first bit of casting news has slinked its way online and we have it for you right here! Dig it!

Sea and Be Scene reports that Pierce Brosnan is set to star in the mini-series as Mike Noonan. Pretty nifty! Look for more casting news to come sooner than you think. We'll keep you posted.

Thanks to DC reader John Swinimer.

Book Synopsis:
Several years after his wife's death, novelist Mike Noonan still suffers writer's block. A dream inspires him to return to the couple's summer retreat in western Maine, a lakeside house called Sara Laughs. Shortly after arriving, Noonan is caught in the middle of a custody battle involving the daughter of an attractive young widow and the child's enormously wealthy grandfather. He also discovers that Sara Laughs is haunted and that his late wife, Joanna, still has something to tell him.

I hope this mini-series is good enough to be nominated by the Emmys and the Golden Globes.

I've never read that particular King book.

What channel will the mini series be on?

More Bag of Bones Casting News Amid Rumors of a Stephen King Cameo

Stephen KingTwo young actresses have joined the cast of A&E's four-hour adaptation of the Stephen King novel "Bag of Bones" from director Mick Garris: Caitlin Carmichael, who has credits in both "True Blood" and "Dexter", is playing Kyra Devore while local Canadian thespian Fiona Forsythe has signed on for an as yet unnamed character.

But the real news according to Sea and be Scene is that talk of a Stephen King cameo in the project comes from one of the "higher ups" on the production – with the word being King (pictured right) would be playing a clergyman.

"Bag of Bones", starring Melissa George, Pierce Brosnan, Annabeth Gish, and Anika Noni Rose, continues to shoot in Nova Scotia with a wrap set for September 28th. It centers on bestselling novelist Mike Noonan (Brosnan), who is unable to stop grieving after the sudden death of his wife, Jo (Gish).

A dream inspires him to return to the couple's lakeside retreat in western Maine, where he becomes involved in a custody battle between the daughter of an attractive young widow (George) and the child's enormously wealthy grandfather while dealing with mysterious ghostly visitations, ever-escalating nightmares, and the realization that his late wife still has something to tell him. Garris is directing from a script by Matt Venne.

More as it comes!

Unfortunately, the reviews aren't very good. When is anyone going to give Pierce the right stuff for his career? I love that he get himself busy and trying prove his craft since after Bond, but his works either got not-so-good reviews or don't get the recognition they deserve. His highest peak of his career was GoldenEye, which was a smash hit with a lot of great reviews. Unfortunately, his later 3 Bonds did not match the greatness of GoldenEye. Not only that, his non-Bond films are no different. Thomas Crown came close but attracts only the mature audiences. Everything else, like I said, got poor reviews or don't enough recognition. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

The reviews are ok and it must be remembered that it is a TV adaption of a Stephen King novel which are normally entertaining but not brilliant (like the Langoliers for example).

Pierce has done some good stuff and I hope he has some great projects lined up in the coming months.

We may enjoy his works, but just us fans enjoying them is not enough. His last great movie that appealed to the mass audience was GoldenEye. I rather find very unfair and injustice just to leave it like this.

His post-Bond works, like I said, either get not-so-good reviews or don't get the recognition they deserve.
