What are we? The Clerics is a gaming clan that started on 3 August 2011, by Ben Simmons and Michael Edwards, also known as Rets and Camel, respectively. Our purpose is to have fun playing tactical or strategic multiplayer games, without being stuck-up assholes like alot of other communities can be. We aren't elitist, and we just want you to be you. If you want, we can provide tips and show you how to increase your skills, simply through example. Getting Started, Okay, so you've stumbled upon us. Thankfully, you can use the resources we provide to help you and your gaming experience, and you don't have to say another thing. Don't even have to join! Though, we'd like it if you did. I will be posting various tactical and strategic treatises on player classes and such, but that will come later. My name is Camel, and my job here isn't the same as Rets', who is basically the forum-lurking-admin-guy. My job, however, is to be your friend. Boy, isn't that a great idea. >_> Anyways, to the point! I will provide various resources for you to use for your budding gaming experience. Many of these resources are very popular, such as Xfire, and Steam, Winzip, Winrar, 7Zip, so on and so forth. It is also in your best interests to obtain a bit-torrent client, such as uTorrent or BitLord. Links Begin, Basically, what I'm doing here is giving you the tools to do your job. I can't control what you do with them, such as with a bit-torrent client, you can pirate games and music and other things. I can't say whether you should or not, that's up to you. With Winrar you can make compressed archives for easier transporting, and with Steam and Xfire you can communicate with other gamers. So here it is, the list of bullshit: - - - Torrent Sharing - - - uTorrent, the easiest program ever Bitlord, not as good as uTorrent, but very heavy-duty Note on BitLord, Before I switched to Windows 7, I used BitLord. Now, I'd recommend uTorrent any day, but if you want, go ahead and get bitlord. Should only need -one- of either, however. - - - Communications - - - Xfire, also pretty win. Steam, also -very- useful. Winzip, lulz. Winrar, xd Note on Winrar, the download list there is a bit long and has a bunch of different links, which may be confuzzling and make you go, "lol which2download??" First, know what OS you're using. Second, know what language you speak the best (probably going to be english, this -is- an english community.) 7Zip, also useful but I personally don't use it. - - - Contact Information - - - Rets - Xfire: Bendaman66 - Steamid: rets55 Camel - Xfire: cc104 - Steamid: ThatCamel Also, if you're having trouble, don't worry. Just calm down, get a drink or something, and contact one of us. It's unlikely that both xfire and steam won't work, unless you've not let it past your firewall or contact the internet. So keep that in mind, and keep in mind, also, that Windows 7 is a person who needs your permission for everything. Also, you can pm me, or Rets. Better for Rets if it's about really technical stuff that requires intelligence. If doors need breaking down, then go for me because Rets has a weak gun. ![]() Edited by Camel, Aug 4 2011, 06:18 PM.
