Hello all, I just found this site! I have always loved modeling, especially sic-fi. After spending the last few hours looking around I found the main web site at http://www.commiesmodeling.com/. When I realized it was a Colorado based group, I decided to join up just to let you know that I have seen some amazing work on this site already.

Oh, a side note to whomever admins the main website. When you click the "flag" to get back to the main page, the link is http://http//www.commiesmodeling.com/ This causes a page not found error. Just an FYI.

I can't wait to see more pics of some of the amazing work you all are doing.

Hello all,
My name is Jesse and I had the fortune of meeting some of you at your monthly gathering the other day. I am new to the hobby and was looking for some one to help me build a model kit I recently purchased. I made some contacts and hopefully will be able to get my project rolling.

I also had with me one of my Hexapod robots and did a quick demo. I am working on a much larger version with an artist/sculptor friend of mine, though his time is getting harder and harder to get. If anyone is interested, I would be happy to collaborate.

It was a pleasure to meet some of you.

Sekrit Santaski 2011

Hey guys,

I've been noticing around some of the local retail establishments indications that the holiday season is rapidly approaching. I figured that I'd broach the subject of our annual gift exchange. If the membership is interested in doing it again this year, I'm willing to take the bit by the horns (or the bull by the teeth) and volunteer to organize the gig. I managed the first try at SSM a few years ago and it seemed to go pretty well.

If you want to play along this year, email me your name (and your online handle since I still don't know who everybody is by your screen names here) and what you would like Santaski to give you this year. I'll drop the hammer and randomly send out recipient names on December 1st. That should give everybody a chance to make their selections and have stuff ready/sent out in time for WaffleFest (a date for which hasn't been set yet as far as I know).

Sound like a plan?

Notes from IPMS Denver Rob Wolf 8/3/11

Greetings, comrades!

At the request of the Voicebox, I have started attending meetings for IPMS Denver Rob Wolf. The first meeting I have been able to attend was the August meeting. Attendance was light due to Nats.

Items of interest to us:

WingNutCon -- 4 categories are sponsored. Martin Segara will be the head judge and will be holding a judging workshop at the September meeting (9/7/11). There are openings for lead judges. If you want to be one, contact Jennifer Jordan (webmaster@ipmsdenverrobwolf.org) and plan on being at the September meeting. I believe you will get a t-shirt. Rank & File judges will be recruited at the show and will get lunch.

I have been asked to participate in an Eagle Scout board of review on 9/7, so I will not be able to attend the next meeting.

Happy Birthday Sueanne!

Robb entered 5 models and took a 1st, a 2nd, and a 3rd. I entered 2 models and took a second. Other Rob, Matt Q, and other Colorado Springs denizens took awards as well. Mark K. taught a class in human skin tones that was awesome. He will be posting each ethnicity to his website with pictures as he does them.

We took notes about how the show was done, to contribute to the CF2012 discussions.

Robb will have pictures ready at some point.

Each month we publish a new gallery of reader-submitted photos. If you'd like your photos to be considered for our online gallery or printed magazine's Reader Gallery, you can submit them digitally at http://contribute.kalmbach.com (or mail them to 21027 Crossroads Circle, P.O. Box 1612, Waukesha, WI 53187). Please be sure to include the following information about your models within the "comments" box: manufacturer, model, scale, modifications, paint used, and your reason for choosing the model.

Happy Birthday, Brad!
