Hi all After a few battles with my 'standard list', I have come up with this new list. I think it will do well against most armies, but my BSB and Sorc Lord both have magic weapons to deal with ethereal creatures. It might not be necessary, but ethereal units are the only ones that have posed me problems so far. Let me know what you think :) CORE 15 warriors MoT, shield, hw, mus, sb, Lichebone Pennant 2 Chariots MoK 2 x 5 hounds with vanguard SPECIAL 2 Chariots MoN Chimera with regen, flaming RARE 3 SC, ensorcelled weapons, mus, sb, Gleaming Pennant HellCannon CHARACTERS BSB, MoT, Disc, Warrior bane, shield, Preservation, 3rd eye Sorc of Fire, lvl 1, scroll Sorc Lord, Death, lvl 4, chaos familiar, scaled skin, charmed shield, dragonbane gem, tormentor sword, healing potion |

I would be concerned with only having ldr 8 on the field and a BSB designed to be flying away from the main units too much of the army is susceptible to panic checks and or being baited. Also, not sure Death provides the same threat with only Ldr 8. I would definitely opt for the Banner of Discipline over the Lichbone Pennant. |

I would also be worried about playing a high elf opponent with the banner/white lion star, as with all of these magical attacks you have very few options to go against a unit such as that. I definitely am not saying not to worry about ethereals but you can always spell them off the board or beat them through combat res as well, though of course having a magic weapon or two can't hurt, but when nearly every heavy hitting thing in the army has magic weapons, you might find it extremely tough to challenge a high elf player who is worth their salt. |

Thanks for your replies :) I forgot to say that my Lvl 4 is on a daemonic mount, meant to be behind the SC. Something I want to try out. Ld 8 death magic is indeed far from ideal, and since I have a scroll I will definitely change the Lichebone Pennant to the Discipline one. Or I could fit in a DP instead of a lvl 4 and drop a chariot. I do believe that with 4 chariots and a unit of SC, I have enough non-magical hitting power to take on my opponent's heavier blocks. The chariots in particular could deal with a HE WL-star while the rest of my army takes on the rest. Bating might be a problem for 3 units, I could change the mark on the core chariots. It gives me 4 S5 attacks less but it makes them more reliable and more durable if given the MoN. Thanks again for your comments! |

I adapted my list a bit: CORE 14 warriors MoT, shield, hw, mus, sb, Lichebone Pennant (+ lvl 1) 14 Warriors MoT, shield, hw, FC, Standard of Discipline (+ lvl 4) 2 x 5 hounds SPECIAL 2 Chariots MoN Chimera with regen, flaming RARE 3 SC, ensorcelled weapons, mus, sb, Gleaming Pennant HellCannon CHARACTERS BSB, MoT, Disc, enchanted shield, Preservation, 3rd eye Sorc of Fire, lvl 1, scroll, ironcurse icon Sorc Lord, Death, lvl 4, chaos familiar, scaled skin, dragonhelm, obsidian lodestone, crown of command With the Lord in the unit of warriors, I now have a unit with Ld 9 and Stubborn, 3+ AS (1+ for the Lord), 5++ in CC, 3++ vs Magic. The other unit has 5++ vs magic and warmachine shooting. I plan on putting both units side to side, flanked by SC, Chimera and 2 chariots and the BSB set up behind it all. Don't hesitate to give your comments on the list! Cheers! |

I'm liking the look more, its definitely interesting the one concern that I see with it now being that the level 4 can get sniped out of the unit. One of the more popular builds for ogre kingdoms involves taking a unit of man eaters and giving them poison and sniping. This could pose a problem especially if I remember correctly that their are other things out there that can do this kind of thing like gezzails. I might consider putting the bsb in the unit with the level 4 so that he offsets the lvl 4 to the second rank keeping him out of combat and giving you someone that can challenge out since someone is going to have to do it. |
