Death is probably a good choice against lizzies and their generally low initiative. With initiative in mind, I'd suggest switching the Great Weapons on the Warrior block to Halberds. It seems silly to give up our great Initiative stat and hit last. Your infantry block isn't all that large, so I'd hesitate before taking the GWs and striking last. I'd prefer to hit a touch softer and maybe kill a few more lizzies before they could strike back. I'm not a big fan of the Mark of Khorne. I don't like that it doesn't effect mounts and chariots. I'd switch the mark on the Knights to Nurgle or Slaanesh, personally. Nurgle does the "can't touch this" thing, while Slaanesh lets you ignore panicking, which can be huge. Additionally, you already have two units of Skullcrushers, who serve the same function as Khorne Knights. I'd switch the Knight's mark and give you some more options.. It's a pretty solid list, I think you'll do fine, but those are my two cents. Best of luck! |

I like the list but i do have some questions/ideas for you. 1) why MOK bsb? I understand how fighty he is but why not hortense on Daemonic Mount? Are you planning on popping him in a Skullcrusher unit? He still doesn't get look out sir because of less than 5 models so i don't see the point. 2) if you go hortense bsb on DM you can drop the knights and add trolls as his bodyguard. 3)lv 1 fire mage is for fireball right? i know people cream over dispel scrolls but with a lv4 caster i find they are not as crucial (i know not many agree with me but after running mono khorne for years i learnt to live with spells going off once in a while). I would go MoT, chanelling staff for a 5+ chanel rerolling 1's to back up your magic phases. Everything else looks rock solid. |

Looks pretty solid to me. Only change I would make is halberds for the warriors given you want to strike before I1 saurus, and I'd give a hound unit vanguard and put them in front of the SCs to keep any fast chaff away. I think you'll do fine against any combat threats he has but I'd be a little worried about masses of skinks. I'd think a chimera might help with that but not really anything to take out. |

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but sadly I played that game the last friday 13. I included khorne knights with lances because I thought that a fast source of S6 attacks would be nice against stegadons. The khorne BSB is something that I use when I get tired of the tzeentch BSB, and he definitely adds a great deal of punch to any unit he joins. I figured out myself that halberds would be better and picked them in the last moment. Sadly, warriors never saw combat, just got incinerated by 2 sneaky salamanders (or whatever they are called). Only 6 warriors survived. The scroll caddy was invaluable to me as always. He dispelled an empowered amber spear amied at my prince, who had his charmed shield already removed by skinks. 145pts may seem too many just for a dispell scroll and a signature spell, but it is in games like this in which you realize how precious a scroll caddy is. The game ended in a boring draw... The only points I got were from a BSB scar veteran on foot that my prince stomped, everything else was severely depleted but not killed, so 0 points from those units... The lizardmen payer brought 2 units of 30 saurus, 30 temple guards + slann + BSB, 10 skins, 1 ancient stegadon, 2 salamanders and something else I don't remember. He obviously played for a draw, using cold blood and deep formations to delay his defeat for as long as posible, and it worked: 1 of the saurus units was reduced to a single warrior (OMG!), so no points from that one. The other saurus unit was at half strenght, and the temple guard had something like 10 models left (with stubborn ld10 and cold blood they weren't going anywhere...). I tried to purple sun his stuff, but with an average of 4 dices per magic phase I couldn't do it, so the game felt like trying to break a wall using a toy hammer. Luckyly for me the lizardmen player couldn't kill much with such defensive approach, so 5 dogs and a core chariot were all the points he got. A really boring game.
