2k Khorne with Mercenaries?!

Hey guys, my local league is going to try out T&T this Friday, and with the rules I can bring 400 points of mercenaries. Here's what I'll be bringing:

Kvaroth Ascendant (Daemon Prince - 390)
Daemon of Khorne, Chaos Armour, Wins, Scaled Skin, Soul Feeder, Flaming Breath, Dragonhelm, OTS

Nurr, the Liar (Sorcerer (Shadow)- 195)
Lvl 2, Dispel Scroll, Ironcurse Icon, Obsidian Trinket, Charmed Shield

Kull, the Black Beast (Ex. Hero - 206)
Mark of Khorne, BSB, Halbred, Enchanted Shield, Crown of Command, Poisonous Slime

The Breakers (Warriors x17 - 385)
FC, Mark of Khorne, Halberds, Shields, Banner of Swiftness

Warhounds (3 units of 5 - 120)
Vanguard on all

Gorebeast Chariots (2 - 260)
Marks of Khorne

The Hammer of Dusk (Skullcrushers x3 - 234)
Ensorcelled Weapons

Blood Call (Hellcannon)

And finally, the mercs!

Firebelly (Fire - 207)
Lvl 2, AHW, Hellheart

Leadbelchers (x4 - 192)
Bellower, Thunderfist

399 pts of pain, and a very beneficial aspect of shooting into the army. Hopefully they can go on the flank to deal with the chaff on that side, and being Ogres they can eventually help out on a flank charge :) I could always take a Bloodthirster with no gifts...but I'm not that mean.

Sorc and BSB go in the Warriors, hopefully with the re-roll they can avoid unfavorable charges if the dogs bite the dust, which they will. Nurr is there for magic defense and an opportunistic debuff from Shadow.

400pts of mercs. Rad.
Are there restrictions on what you can take? I'd go Dark Elf beast wizard and two units of Warlocks myself.

If you're going Ogres have you thought about a cannon?

The only restrictions that I remember are that you have to have at least one character as the general, with the normal restrictions for points.

Unfortunately I don't have any Ogre Cannons or I'd be taking one and a flying Tyrant, hahaha. One day I will be able to do that. That DE idea sounds rad, but being prejudiced against those pointy-ears and not having the models or the book limits that option :P

My only other options for mercs besides OK & Daemons are some Orcs and Beastmen, but I figure putting in another block of infantry isn't going to work as well for me. I'd rather have the versatility of the Leads and the damage output of the Firebelly. PLUS, it fits my fluff that Kvaroth often recieves the aid of the Redkin, my Ogres. When we played 1k, my Ogres had an exalted hero on daemonic mount as their mercenary, 200 points of mean Khorne butchery.

This list (without mercs) performed amazingly. Both due to luck and some great risk taking (and a very luck LD4 break check passed hahaha) I tabled my opponent after turn 4. Best part was my Hellcannon getting bored shooting, failed his rage check, and charged 13" directly into combat to eat some souls.

I don't have the book handy but take a peak, I don't think you can take Lords as the mercenary company leader. Its worth checking though. If I'm wrong there are some pretty snazy things you could bring!

One of my buddies in the group has the book, so I don't have it either :P Good thing to double check though, just in case. Having a Bloodthirster and a DP in the same army would be super nasty.

If your taking mercs why not take some Khorne daemons, gives you a cannons if you want and seems very fluffy :)

I would love to run with my Daemons but with only 400 points to spend at 2k, my options are really limited. Partly by myself of course, because I will not be bringing any Daemons but Khorne into my army :P
I could get a cheap hero and a small bunker of Bloodletters, but having another infantry block won't help me much. I don't have my book at the moment but putting a Skullcannon in there shrinks my BLs down to minimum, if even that, I think. :S

I did a T&T at the weekend as well, I used TK skeleton archers with a liche priest as my mercs. same pts lvl as you. Using the mercs to cover the flaw in WoC (lack of shooty stuff) worked real well, combined with a hellcannon. Only lost because my opponents all teamed up against me. Treacherous sods :p. Fairly sure you have to have a hero within the mercs ( one of my opponents who has the book took an ogre cannon / firebelly?) but as I took TK I needed a hierophant anyway.

So yea, using the mercs to cover any flaw your list has had in normal games, works wonders. Another infantry unit in your list wouldn't work so well :p

I'm doing a 1250 point T&T tomorrow and I've taken exactly the same mercs, Leadbelchers are fantastic shooters and fairly apt in combat as well. They completely cover the lack of shooting WoC suffer with and tagteamed with a Firebelly makes them a pretty rude choice!

What about empire mage with beasts or light+ the buffchart for that +1 to hit? Or archlector+ altar for that lovely hatred some kind of dark prophet?
