Hi all,

Im entering a local tournament (2200pts) in the new year for the first time. Just a casual gamer and not really bothered about destroying all before me, just looking to get some games and have some fun.

Anyway I was thinking of running the following as its pretty much all the models I have. How do you think Ill fair with this list?!

I also have a Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount, Sorcerer on foot and 30 Marauders with hand weapon & shield.

Currently at 2236pts and need to trim a few points off to make the 2200pts, any advice would be appreciated on this and overall army composition.

Thanks, Skritskrat.

LORD

Daemon Prince LV4, Flight, Chaos Armour, Mark of Nurgle, Chaos Familiar, Soul Feeder.

There are a few things I'd change here to make life a bit easier for yourself.

The Daemon Prince could do with more protection, he's a massive investment and so wants to be as tanky as possible. I'd take Chaos Armour, Scaled Skin and Charmed Shield to protect him, throw the Dragonbane Gem in there for good measure and he's laughing!

Same kinda goes for your BSB. If you load him out with the Enchanted Shield and Talisman of PReservation he will have a 2+ Armour save and 4+ Ward. Warriors of Chaos suffer from fairly poor Ld so keeping the BSB about helps out with that.

Change the weapons on your Knights to Ensorcelled Weapons. Magical S5 attacks all day long is much better than S6 on the charge then S4 until they die or win.

The Chaos Giant may prove a points sink. Giants tend to be extremely vulnerable to War Machines and are a really easy source of VP's for the enemy, you could probably spend them better elsewhere or just drop him as you need to trim back the points.

Also trimming back the Knights couldn't hurt. 10 hit like a tonne of bricks however 2 units of 5 with minimal gear works just as well and gives you more drops. Go with something like 2x 5 Knights, Musician, Ensorcelled Weapons, Mark of Choice. This works pretty well for me.

These are of course just suggestions but I think they will give you a nicely rounded list and give your current options the ability to work optimally. Hope this helps :)

===============EDIT===================

Just noticed your short on Core. 25% of 2200 is 550 Points. Your Warriors should come to 438 plus the 3 units on Hounds = 528. This list isn't legal until you shore up on the core choices :(

Perhaps trim back on Warriors and use some of the Maraunders you mentioned in your original post to sort this out?

Thanks for the reply MasteroDisastero.

Think I'll drop the Giant in favour of a Gorebeast Chariot and with those spare points and few points scraped from elsewhere I'll give both the Daemon Prince and BSB both the additional protection you advised above.

I'm also going to experiment with two units of 5 Knights and see how I get on.

Thanks again MasteroDisatero.
