Hi all, Haven't really posted in a while. Mostly been on a Vampire Count binge since I dropped my DP of Nurgle that I spend a long time converting and painting and he broke :(. Anyway, was wondering if something like this would work. Trying to have a more mortal based Warriors of Chaos list. 2500 Pts - Warriors of Chaos Roster Lords Chaos Lord of Slaanesh, 340 pts (General; Mark of Slaanesh . . Steed of Slaanesh . . Hellfire Sword; Shield . . Helm of Many Eyes . . Dragonbane Gem Sorcerer Lord of Nurgle, 285 pts (Mark of Nurgle; Level 4 Upgrade) . . Enchanted Shield Heroes Chaos Sorcerer of Tzeentch, 235 pts (Mark of Tzeentch; Level 2 Upgrade) . . Disc of Tzeentch . . Talisman of Preservation Exalted Hero of Tzeentch (Battle Standard Bearer), 261 pts . . Daemonic Mount; Barding (Daemonic Attacks; Causes Fear; Stomp) . . Armour of Destiny; Great Weapon . . Third Eye of Tzeentch Core 23 Chaos Warriors of Nurgle, 482 pts . . Full Command . . Halberds; Standard of Discipline Chaos Chariot of Nurgle, 125 pts 5 Chaos Warhounds, 40 pts (Vanguard) 5 Chaos Warhounds, 30 pts Special 17 Hellstriders of Slaanesh, 370 pts . . Full Command . . Hellscourges Rare 4 Skullcrushers of Khorne, 332 pts (Berserk Rage; Musician Mus; Standard Bearer Std; Mark of Khorne; Hand Weapon; Ensorcelled Weapons; Chaos Armour; Shield; Frenzy) . . Standard; Musician . . Ensorcelled Weapons Total Roster Cost: 2500 Thought is that the Lord can provide heavy hitting power wherever needed with Movement 10 and Fast Cav. Halberd Warriors provide a nice block that is hard to move and gives a good punch. Level 4 probably goes with Death Magic but I could see Nurgle. Level 2 provides mobile magic support, probably with Lore of Metal (might be better to swap for Festus though?) Chariot and Skullcrushers add combat power where needed. |

With only 6 drops at 2500pt I think you will often be out-deployed, which will make it difficult to get those hammers where they need to be. Vanguard will help mitigate this to some extend but the flanks of that hellstrider bus are going to be problematic at times. I would consider banner of swiftness on the warriors as they will quickly be left behind otherwise. In addition a Slaanesh lvl4 instead of Nurgle will really help you control the movement phase to get your troops into favourable combats. Once you hit combat you shouldn't need much in the way of buffs to win. With such a low model count a dispel scroll should be mandatory. |

Yeah you're probably right. Maybe I should just give up on the Hellfire Sword idea and instead try to make something more rounded. How about something like this? 2500 Pts - Warriors of Chaos Roster Lords Sorcerer Lord of Slaanesh, 420 pts (General; Mark of Slaanesh; Level 4 Upgrade) . . Steed of Slaanesh . . Ogre Blade . . Enchanted Shield . . Talisman of Preservation . . Ironcurse Icon . . Chaos Familiar Heroes Exalted Hero of Slaanesh (Battle Standard Bearer), 231 pts (Mark of Slaanesh; Great Weapon) . . Steed of Slaanesh . . Dawnstone . . The Other Trickster's Shard . . Scaled Skin Festus the Leechlord of Nurgle, 190 pts Core 5 Chaos Warhounds, 30 pts 23 Chaos Warriors of Nurgle, 482 pts (Mark of Nurgle; Halberd) . . Full Command . . Banner of Swiftness Chaos Chariot of Nurgle, 125 pts Chaos Chariot of Nurgle, 125 pts Special 13 Hellstriders of Slaanesh, 290 pts (Hellscourges) . . Full Command Chimera, 275 pts (Flaming Breath; Regenerating Flesh) Rare 4 Skullcrushers of Khorne, 332 pts (Musician; Standard Bearer; Ensorcelled Weapons) Total Army Cost: 2500 So, added back in a Chimera. Also have 8 drops now. The Hellstrider bus is smaller (5x3 instead of 5x4) so it should be easier to maneuver and won't have such a big flank. It doesn't hit as hard, but still decently. BSB gives out 4xS7, Sorcerer Lord 3xS6 plus potential extra from lore attribute. With rolling 5 spells I should be pretty much assured to get Choir, and being in the Bus I should be able to get into a position to maximize its effects. I also have 8 drops now instead of just 6. I could drop Chaos Familiar and get a Dispel Scroll, but then there is a lot smaller chance to get Choir. Edited by datalink7, Dec 26 2013, 04:12 AM.

I think a Hellstrider unit with two nasty Slaanesh characters could be pure gold, they get behind the enemy line and could wreck some serious damage fast. |

I think I would be more tempted to go with unholy strike and sword of striking on my Sorcerer Lord |
