750pt Mounted Slaanesh List (?!)

Local GW store is going to do "Forces on March" (show and tell) type thing in... :$ ...March.

And since my WoC have been sitting neglected still, I figured I'd try to whip something up for it, and I've got the urge to paint with purples.

So for something unique, albeit perhaps somewhat horrible, I'm tempted to throw this together:

Chaos Sorcerer - Chaos Steed, Level 2, Slaanesh, Mark of Slaanesh

Core:
6x Warhounds
6x Marauder Horsemen, Mus., MoS, Spears
6x Marauder Horsemen, Mus., MoS, Spears
Chaos Chariot - MoS

Special:
5x Knights, Enscrolled Weapons, MoS

It's got the whole #6 thing going, which is kinda fluffy (except for the chariot) and...um....well, that's all I've got.

I think you might have difficulty taking on any steadfast units, but if you play your cards wisely it will work. Going to have to use those marauder horsemen for a lot of redirecting.

I just tried a similar 750 pt list but with an ex hero and helseekers instead of the knights and I really missed the punching ability of the knights.

Thats all I've got I'm afraid :$

E: how WOULD an all mounted list deal with steadfast? As a wood elf player, I just ignore them and kill the supporting stuff. I guess the same could be done with the a chaos all cav list.

Keep out of 6" and cast cac choir while beating up his chaff and support.

Slight revamp:

L2 Sorcerer Lord: Slannesh, Luckstone, Barded Steed

5x Marauder Horsemen, Slannesh, Light Armor, Shield, Mus
5x Marauder Horsemen, Slannesh, Light Armor, Shield, Mus
5x Warhounds
5x Warhounds

5x Knights - Slaanesh, Enscrolled Weapons, Mus
3x Ogres

Stick the maruaders on the wide flanks, use hounds to screen the knights and ogres.

Question, cuz I was overestimating the MoS:

These units will still take break tests for losing combat, but a fleeing unit won't force a test on a MoS unit, correct?

Correct, MoS makes the unit immune to panic, but they still have to take break tests for losing combats as normal.

Ok cool. So I can flee as a reaction without having to worry about nearby units.

Going to try this out today against dome ogres

Played 2 matches today against Ogres, my first time using WoC.

We ran at 750pts then 1k. I kept the above for the 750, added 15 Warriors, MoK and a Standard for 1k. A fairly even matchup, we're both fairly new to WHFB and this was my first time using WoC.

He was using 3x Grimhorn Rhinox Riders. 3x sets of Impact Hits really freaking HURTS.

Khorne was pleased...granted, the matchup with the warriors resulted in all 15 Warriors dying horribly, but there was blood (for the Blood God!).

I need to remember NOT to challenge Ogre heroes w/ a sorcerer.

The cavalry did better than I expected. My 3x Ogres did less than I hoped :/

Yeah, our Ogres are odd. I still haven't figured out how to use them to great effect. I think kitting them out somehow would be mandatory to run them (mark, great weapon, chaos armor, etc). There are a few threads in the forums here discussing pro/cons of various Ogre builds. I'd suggest searching around a bit before giving up on them.

A few other bits:
Mark of Slaanesh is 'auto-pass' panic, fear and terror checks. You're not immune to psych, so you can still flee as a charge reaction.
Your champions and heroes MUST challenge when they get into combat. Eye of the Gods and such.

And one last bit on playing against Ogres, their charges are potentially BRUTAL. You basically always want to charge them, rather than be charged. Lore of Slaanesh and Lore of Shadow are great for messing with the enemy's movement phase. And Lore of Death can be a good Lore to take to kill 'em outright. I'd suggest trying Shadow for your next game. Miasma is a great sig spell.

Good luck to you!
