Faeit posts more or less everything they get sent without any kind of check, because it generates traffic. I'm pretty sure someone has been trolling the heck out of those guys the past week or so.

Yeah this is troll for sure. If GW would have wanted to merge 40k and fantasy rules, they would have done it long ago. Also, GW said not long ago that 9th edition is not happening this year at all. And why would 40k get 7th already? Didn't they "just" got 6th? Also if this would be true, there is no way that anybody can play 9th without new armybooks as the point costs and stats wouldn't be balanced

Although, these changes are not that bad. IF this would happen, I would buy 9th and test it out to see how they would have created this. Because IF this is true, it means that monsters could be played again because of low model counts. Only time will tell but yet again I do not believe these rumors.

serious lack of consistency has thankfully already been unearthed in this post on other forums.

I'm with Speknaz on this one, except the whole selling my models thing, and lack of guns where I am from. The amount of salt that should be taken with these rumors compare to the amount in all of the oceans. if this does happen then I am sticking to 8th. Anyways some good things would be decent ally rules.

Yeah, I figured these were just 4chan trolls being themselves. The only reason I posted this here was because this is the 5th (I think) article Naftka has posted about 9th ed coming this August. I also agree that it feels way to soon for updates because 40K's 6th ed has only been out 2 years, and Fantasy has been out for 3 (I think), also we still have four armies with outdated books i.e. Wood Elfs, Beastmen, Brets, Skaven. But Naftka did seem like he had a reliable source and I personally haven't seen anything to contradict it, but then again I don't look very hard because why get your hopes up (or down) when you'll know for sure eventually right?

With that said I wouldn't mind checking out what forums you are talking about Shrapnelsmile, I'm assuming forums like DakkaDakka, which I don't frequent but probably should start.

I also agree with R3do, if they really wanted the games to be similar they very well could have made them similar with 8th, I somewhat remember the same rumors being thrown around at that time. Some other things they said, like movement characteristics going away, that does make every single army book obsolete and I very much doubt they will release an update for every book with the release.

I adamantly feel that changes like these could very well break the game, Allies are perfect as is, sure I haven't used it yet, but in theory it looks way better than 40K's style of mash whatever you want together. Except Tyranids, if you play Tyranids they give you a big D and no lube... (I used to play Nids if you can't tell)

Anyways, glad to hear you guys also feel these are false rumors, maybe I can finally muster the will to finish my Chaos horde before anything comes into fruition. There is a new story up that is very similar to the 40K update but this one is for Epic being revamped, pretty confident I jumped the gun on this one now.
