The treemen are great looking models but they look a nightmare to store and carry since they have far too many tiny fragile little branches that could easily snap. Think our chaos spawn x 100. |

Yep, After the initial "wow", that's just what i thought... Glueing head tentacles on x100. Great model though, looking forward to getting the book and dusting of some old elfies... Oh! i'll get to do stuff in the shooting phase again, nice... ;) |

WE were my first army in fantasy, looking forward to the new book. I seem to be in the minority here but I hate the new treeman model. I'll have to keep using the current metal one or pick up an alternative from another company. I'm excited to see what they do with the fluff. |

Pics are out of the second week releases. I'm having a hard time justifying not buying a box of the guys with axes, those would make amazing halberds! |

Maybe still a minority, but not alone. They look like 40k Avatars. There is nothing about them that looks like they are TREE-men. |

Yeah, I've just finished reading White Dwarf 13. The new models are really cool looking, green horses notwithstanding. It doesn't look like any of the older plastic models have had an update (Glade Guard, Glade Riders, Dryads). What it boils down to is that, while prettier, less blurry, and missing a few "How to Paint" segments (which are admittedly cool) the Wood Elf issue of White Dwarf isn't anything new that we haven't already seen in leaked shots. No new models, rules or other fun bits hiding in there that I can tell. |

The Steeds of Isha which the Sisters ride has movement of 9''. That is the fastest of the fast cavalry in Warhammer. (As far as I'm aware). |

Hellstriders are fast cav with movement 10, as well as their daemon counterparts. If you count Bret Pegasus Knights, then they have it too with flying. |

I can't argue, those little head branches are pretty fragile looking. On the other hand, I'm thinking of buying a single treeman just to convert and paint it up. In issue 14 of White Dwarf, I was kinda surprised, since they have a pretty in depth article of Chris Peach's treeman conversion. Notable points of coolness include turning the awkward beard braid into a ponytail, converting Durthu's sword and the Ancient's staff into a spear mimicking that of the Eternal Guard, and a very neat silvery birch paint scheme that looks very natural and "tree-like." Our suspicions of treemen looking great when painted as actual trees seem to have been confirmed in earnest! |
