Hi everyone, I'm struggling, as my eye for color choice is terrible. these are my knights thus far. Armor done, fur on cloaks also completed. Posted Image the question: what color would look good in this combination for the cloak fabric itself? One suggested an old school Deathguard off-white, dirty. I'm also wondering about yellow-brown or other kind of gross configuration. any suggestions appreciated. GW paints only please. Edited by Shrapnelsmile, May 10 2014, 05:19 AM.

I would drybrush the capes in light stone grey then i would put a tonne of black wash over everything but my painting style is real messy. |

Hi gents. Many thanks for all the replies. Enclosed are my two final choices. As you know I've had a dilemma with a choice of cloak color for my Chaos Nurgle warriors. Here are two possibilities. The Left: a highlighted black ash-grey, the seconds simply Rhinox Hide w/ a black wash. Keep in mind these are meant to be painted quickly, as they are not my main army. The center is the armor and fur a of a warrior for comparison. Also, the ash-grey is a bit darker in person. What's your choice? Posted Image |

As much as I like the cloak on the left, I think the blue will clash a little too much with the green armor. Go for the one on the right IMO, or make a unit of each ;) |

Thanks Silver shadow and everyone else for the input. some wanted to see the bases finished before choosing. here are the last two pix with bases done, replete with maggots, for final voting. The opinions are split 50/50 on three sites LOL. Posted Image Posted Image thanks in advance for taking a moment to cast your thoughts. Edited by Shrapnelsmile, May 10 2014, 12:09 AM.

You could try both or even add different variations, they already look unified with their armour. Mixing dark capes will give them a little more individuality. |

I'd love to see them. Everyone I went with Brown for Now. Nice idea on mixing the unit -- thank you as well vantrax. But I think I am going ot use the shadow grey scheme for something else -- possibly clothing on a unit of Witch Elf allies for Triumph and Treachery. Everyone's feedback is much appreciated. Please do send that pic of the green cloak Kurrilino, and I'll shall keep all of you posted with some hobby progress. Edited by Shrapnelsmile, May 18 2014, 02:40 AM.

I don't know if you're still trying to decide what colour to go with on the cloaks but I found the animal fur colour from the Army painter line looks great with the green theme of Nurgle. I don't know what the equivalent colour would be in GW's paint line though but I'd encourage you to check it out on the Army painter website to get an idea. |
