HI guys i was just wanting to start a topic on the best character builds you have come up with or come across. I found the idea on another forum but it was quite outdated but the idea still applies. Here is one i theory crafted today. Chaos Sorcerer Lord -Nurgle -Lvl 4 --warhorse/daemonic mount(barding)--(daemonic mount in rot flies)?? Magic items -Tailsman of preservation -Glittering scales -Skull of katam/dispel scroll -Dragonhelm/Enchanted shield Mutations -Daemonblade. Glittering scales combined with mark of Nurgle confer a -2 to be hit in close combat. which against anyone lower then weapon skill 6 will need 6's to hit you. Mount with barding 5+, glittering scales 4+, shield/dragon helm 2+ or enchanted shield 2+. Then a 4+ ward save should make him ridiculously hard to kill in combat. The Daemonblade then adds d6+3 attacks at str 4. The final layer of protection comes in the form of which i think Daemon Princes are very vulnerable the fact that they are not in a unit. I have watched quite a few battle reports and from my own playing experience be it from cannons, spells like banishment or being forced to accept challenges against useless champions. Having a unit protects against all these things. The 2nd one i actually play tested today. Chaos Lord -Khorne -Helm of many eyes -Blade of bloodshed/hellfire sword -Potion of strength -Flaming breath -soulfeeder Juggernaut shield This guy is an offensive beast, asf so re rolls to hit, 9 attacks of which he can pop a str potion to be str 8. he regens wounds on a roll of 6. flaming breath to do an additional 2d6 hits at str 4.(also great for regen). 1+ save.( could also take charmed shield to avoid a cannon) He was run in a unit of skull crushers. against infantry run him as above against anything with armour/multiple wounds run hellfire sword. I would love to hear other peoples go to characters and feel free to point out anything that is not correct or could be improved with mine |

A couple of my favorites: Exalted BsB Halbred Mark to taste. Dawnstone, Dragonhelm, Scaled skin. Inside a unit of warriors. Cheap, hitty, re-rollable 1+ armor save BsB. MoK makes him a murder machine. Sorc Level 1, Lore of fire, ruby ring, enchanted shield. Low points ranged damage platform and hard to kill. DP Sword of Striking, Dragonbane gem, Charmed Shield MARK OF SLANEESH BABY Chaos Fam, Scaled Skin, Flaming Breath, Soul Feeder. Similar to everyone's Nurgle build BUT with access to IMO a better Lore. I love me some Shadow. All the debuffs + Pit makes it a real winner in my eyes. Enfeebling foe does really silly things to boost surviability as well. Not that I don't like Death but it gets so boring after a while. LoSlaneesh is beautiful in objective based tournaments too. You WERE in that Watchtower, before random movement! You WERE gonna shoot that cannon! :P Exalted TaliPres, MoT, Disc, Halbred, Burning Body. Hunts Warmachines and regen monsters. My one-stop answer to terrorghests outside of using magic or my DP/Chimera if possible. Love this guy. |

Chaos Lord, MoT, 3.rd eye, Steed. Ogre blade, Helm of Many Eyes, Tal. End, Potion of Speed. Soulfeeder. A5 S7, ASF, 1+, 4++ reroll 1's, soulfeedering. Made to challenge the crap out of everything, going first in round 1 even against elven lords. and still having a 1+ 4++. He needs babysitting by the bsb though, or he will fail a stupitity test per game on avarage. that could be fatal. Sorcerer, Lvl 2, Familiar, Ruby ring, Lore of fire. Cast fireball from ring with 1-2 dice depending on winds of magic, and gain +d3 to cast to the rest of your fire damage spells for the turn. (yes, it works even if it was the bound spell that did the first damage). |

I'm toying with the idea of a Slaaneshi Chaos Lord of poison. Army would probably need at least a decent sized unit of Hellriders to act as bunker for him. Core of the build: Chaos Lord Mark of Slaanesh Steed of Slaanesh Soul Feeder Poisonous Slime Helm of Many Eyes Pendant of Slaanesh Halberd -That leaves 25 points for Talisman slot (no weapon so it can benefit from the poison) and 25 points of mutations and chaos powers (so no breathing) Optional: Shield. It is interesting, as you don't want to get hurt much before getting into close combat, but getting hit once before close combat isn't that bad, so it's up to you if you want it or not. I usually do. Optional Chaos Mutations and powers (pick 2): Allure of Slaanesh Acid Ichor Flaming body -I am leaning towards Allure of Slaanesh for fluff, and Acid Ichor. Optional Talisman slot: Dawnstone Talisman of Protection Dragonbane Gem Luckstone -Not sure here. Summary of the build: Movement 10 with Vanguard. Fast Cav. T5 W3 2+ AS. WS8 S6 ASF I7 5+poisonous attacks. (also, steed provides 1 ws3 s3 i5 poisonous attack) Stupidity. Check break with 1D6. Gains 1 attack per Wound suffered (the "+" part from "5+" of the poisonous attacks) Soul Feeder (1/6 of regaining wound each time you deal a wound) So the idea is quite simple. Get into close combat, not worrying too much of getting hurt a bit, every wound suffered means you gain a permanent attack, and if you can get the wound back, it's glourious. ASF + I7 will usually mean rerolling, with it's WS8 it'll usually be 1-2 reroll, 3-5 hit with S6, 6 autowound. Can be improved with Blades of Putrefaction (Lore of Nurgle though, bad for fluff) or Hysterical Frenzy (more attacks! yay! and Lore of Slaanesh is fluff consistent) Optional to get a horde of poisonous warhounds for extra fluff and more poison |

Sorcerer Lord of Slaneesh -Blade of Bloodshed -Helm of many eyes -Allure of Slaneesh -Soul Feeder -Flaming breath 6 attacks, asf, leadership test to attack. Magical Synergies +ws, attacks and init for wounds with the roll of 6 during magic. + pavane of slaneesh adds d6 discounting the lowest works well with allure of slanessh perhaps forcing your opponent not to be able to attack. +asl from multiple spells in the lore, granting guareented re rolls to hit. Ideal Scenario cast cacao on multiple units, granting your enemy Asl as well as causing enough wounds to bring your attacks up to 10, Cast phantasmagoria forcing your opponent to take leadership test on 3d6 discounting lowest. this leaves you with 10 re rollable attacks, and your opponent hopefully not even able to attack back. as i said ideal scenario. Chaos Sorcerer lord of nurgle( the unkillable) -fencers blades -tricksters helm -undecided -soulfeeder -flaming breath ws 10, minus 1 to hit, re roll successful wounds, 1+ armour Magical synergies -miasma reduce opponents ws so near guarantee everything is hitting you on 6's -curse of the leper increase toughness by d3, up to 7 making it harder to wound you and then making them re roll the successful wounds. -succesful spells, on the roll of a 6 + 1 wound and toughness. *should be noted both these characters are on a standard barded chaos knight for armour save purposes. My favorite outside a BSB or Demon Prince is as follows: Exalted: MoN Great Weapon Scaly Skin Save +2 Gives him a 2+ save in combat with the additional -1 to be hit because of MoN. He's str 7 with the GW and has 4 attacks. And the reason I run him? He's dirt cheap for a chaos hero and puts out a lot of pain! Knights? Meh, have your 5/6+ save! Bwahahahaha |
