Just a quick question, don't know if it's been answered before. Would the dragon bane gem give a 2++ for the wound caused if you roll a one at the end of your turn? My thinking is every other effect the sword causes is flaming and it specifically says no AS but not no WS. Thanks in advance :) |

The wound the sword gives the wielder is not affected by the swords normal attacks. So it is not a flaming, ignore armor d3 wound. (well, it ignores armour, but only because the description of what happens if you roll a 1 says so). In other words, he is not hit by the sword's normal attacks, but his lifeforce is drained by the deamon inside. Edited by Berghofer, Jun 29 2014, 12:40 PM.

Thanks for the replies, Just trying to justify using the hell sword on a chaos lord, I've always loved that weapon. So far I've got: Chaos lord- Hellfire Sword, Dawnstone, Potion of Foolhardiness, Charmed Shield, Mark of Khorne, Soul Feeder, Flaming Breath, Barded Daemonic Mount- 410pts I wanna try him in a big unit of chaos knights with a BSB, I think even against DBG characters he could still potentially cause a few wounds, should wreck everything else :) |

He'll die to sniper fire with no wards in a unit of knights, as a heads up. Can be cannonballed or stone thrower'd in there. |

With no Champion. Mounted Chaos Lord is pretty much the only reason Chaos Knights even exist as a unit may as well use them. |

Why on the daemonic mount? He is a lord, so the only benefits he gains is the increased damage output from the mount. That, and an awsome looking model on a daemonic mount ofcause ;) |

I only went for the Daemonic mount because of the way the model looks. But I see everyone's point, I'll switch it to a chaos steed :) I'm gonna try and see if the model will fit on a cavalry base. |
