Great! I'll just reference the FAQ if some High Elf player has a problem with me burning his White Lions toting the Banner of the World Dragon with the template breath weapon. :)

It just didn't seem too cut and dry because of the wording for Daemonic Attacks.
It's always the HE players... hehe
Because they are the only ones with a defense against magical attacks. Etgereals probably won`t complain that they can`t be hit anymore...

FAQ overwrites Army Book overwrites BRB

Not magical. Don't really think it matters if the FAQ was "specifically" meant for this or not, but it clearly applies.
The rulebook FaQ amends things that were left out, or misinterpreted, But the Army book still takes precedence here. All special attacks are Magical.

We had this discussion about 6 months ago and the answer was DP breath was Magical.

The FAQ addresses the general BRB rules involving breathweapons. The BRB FAQ is in effect, part of the BRB. Army book still trumps BRB.

The Demonic attack special rule directly states that it affects "...all special, ranged or stomp attacks...". Seeing as how a breath weapon is either a special or ranges attack. It is definitely covered.

There is direct conflict between the BRB and armybook. The rules tell us that the armybook wins out.

But yet again BRB says that Breath Weapon's special rules are told in the Weapon's rules itself and no where else. So like I said, this is another wormhole what GW should fix but as we all know they won't do that...

EDIT:

It would be different thing if DP would have Breath Weapon as mandatory skill. Instead of that this special attack is bought to him so it doesn't follow rules of the DP but instead of it own.

This seems valid as the FAQ is for the Warhammer rulebook.

The army book is pretty clear about the breath weapon being magical when used with a DP.

I think I just changed my stance.
