few days ago GoC42 shows us his warriors deathstar.
We talked about it here on cotec and i realised that i were playing against the rules

ok, so i have 7 knights + 2 heroes on DM + sorcerer on horse. FCG, blasted.
i want to have 2 DM heroes + one knight in da front (5 wide - one rank)

Rules are clear that CMD must be in first rank, so i was playing it wrong - my std bearer and musician were in 2nd rank and a chapion in 1st. I was thinking that if my champ is dead, std bearer or musician steps in so sorcerer is safe.

So basically it's illegal to have FCG and 2 heroes on DM in one unit if i want my first rank to look like i wrote above. So i decided to drop musician (not good, i know) and a champion.
So right now i will have 2dm + std bearer in first rank and sorcerer in 2nd.

what you think guys? maybe i should go 6 wide (2xdm+musician + std bearer in 1st rank )?

You'd have to have full command and one DM hero in the front, then when you reach combat, you can swap the standard and musician for the other DM hero for his make way move.

As abowe. Make way solves you problem. 3 DM characters makes your unit virtually unkillable from the front if you use 6 wide formation. Still, it's huge points sink, and IMO this deathstar needs Obsidian Lodestone.

@Khaleth Blackheart - thank you, rules are so stupid that one of my exalted's will be in 2nd rank..............i'm curious how will it looks like. make way solves my problem again, again and again, thx !

@GeneralofChaos42 - 5 wide is what i need to keep good rank bonus. 7 knights. 2 ranks + 2 knights in 3rd rank.

@Eldritch - LVL3 on steed has lodestone, 2 DMount exalteds,7 blasted knights , ironcourse..it's a very nice unit with missile launcher, it's so cool and it's connected with discolord via look out sir.

I never thought about that and i have also been playing it wrong ;) at least it would give the dm character in rank 2 another save against cannons ;)

Its much better having characters in the second rank. Characters in the front rank can be pinned by units you don't want to fight. Better to have them in the second rank so they can make way to where you need them.
