Hello everyone! It seems like I'll be going to a tournament at the end of this coming february- my first ever! It's 1200p/person and the games are 2v2. Don't really know what my teammate will play, but likely...Ogres...? For the tournament I have to have the entire army painted, andright now I have...a marauder test model painted and a horseman almost painted. xD Anyway, I wanna make a good hard list but still with some variety, here's the stuff that's available to me: Characters 18 Tzeentch Warriors with shields 40 GW Khorne marauders+10 with flails OR: 50 GW Khorne marauders 10 warhounds 10 Horsemen, flails, Khorne. 7 Nurgle Knights 18 Nurgle Chosen Khorne Spawn Nurgle Spawn A tiny bit of money to spend if I have to. :P Right now I'm thinking a Sorcerer, Warriors, 30 Marauders, some dogs and fastcav and maybe some knights. What do you guys suggest? What lore on the sorcerer? Wich units should I take? Theo |

Depending what he takes alot, but perhaps leave the offensive magic and the CC to WoC and then let empire do the magic defence (W.alter, priest ect..) and the warmachine part, I would also bring at least one unit with Hochland long riffle for sniping mages and BSB. Flaggalants works as good speedbumps and count as core (one unit only) if you take a priest. 1 unit of swordsmen (for priest, 1 init of flaggalants and a little unit of handgunners then ad warmachines and characters) Your own thinking covers both socery and CC allready, so maybe I am just blabbering or being mostly about the empire part... NB: The Stank is a good but not nice choice at these points. Edited by JaBol On, Nov 2 2011, 03:36 PM.

...And now he isn't sure what to run. I'm trying to push him against Ogres...xD Mostly because an Empire+Chaos alliance wouldn't make much sense to my OCD. Here's a list I drew up after some playtesting, I had 18 Nurgle Warriors but they were mostly there to take care of Regeners and be a hammer, but I can do that with other units. Here's what I've figured so far...I'll probably stick with Heavens, I really like it but I can be pursuaded: Sorcerer Lord (Lvl3, Heavens), Enchanted Shield, Dawnstone, Dispel Scroll. 300p. 15 Chaos Warriors, shields, MoTzeentch, FC. 290p. 24 Marauders, GW's, MoKhorne, FC. 170p. 5 Horsemen, light armour, flails, MoKhorne. 110p. 5 Warhounds. 30p. 5 Warhounds. 30p. 5 Knights, MoNurgle, Standard, Musician, Banner of Eternal Flame. 270p. Army total: 1200p on the dot. :) What do you guys think? Theo |

agrees with you about Ogres being a more "realistic" alliancepartner than Empire. Your list looks fine, please let me know how Heavenmagic works, I am having a few problems with choosing it over shadow or death. Your list is fine, but in a tagteam enviroment you really got to build your lists to work as one army, compensating for each others weaknesses. Why MoK on your horsemen?? |

Hi and thank for the reply. :) I personally love Heavens magic, but I've never ran it on anything but a Lvl4 and usually with a Spellfamiliar. The hexes and the augment are so easy to cast you can get them all of onto a single combat quite easily, and I have actually done that. Pretty brutal. MoK is on the horsemen a bit for theme but mostly to be a threat in combat. The "Having to charge" thing isn't so hot all the time...but with the flails the unit dishes out 10 str5 attacks + the horses. I can take it out I guess, but I feel the utility of the unit would diminish. xD Theo |

Personally I allways run the horsemen with MoS and javelins, but please let me know how MoK workout. Could you perhaps post your teammates list also, it makes it alot more easy to comment on your list? as a single 1200 pts list it looks good and interesting (both to play and against). |

I don't really have any Slaanesh stuff yet, but I'm thinking I may start an all cav Slaanesh force...or something. Maybe Slaanesh Daemons. I'll look into my teammates list and send it! :D Theo |

MoS IMHO is only good on giants and horsemen, but if you run with the Great horde rules some of the DoC Slaanesh heroes are superb (Masque and sertain build of HoS). Looking foreward to seeing both lists. any idea what you will be battling against? |
