Combat Resolution; is this really right?!

ok I have a question about the whole combat resolution thing.

I ran into a situation with my warhshrine in my last game. He was charged by a unit of wardancers (i think that is what they are called) no wounds were inflicted and there were only 5 dancers so no rank bonus, but since they had the charge they get the +1 for combat resolution right? So that means that I lost?

So I took the leadership test at -1 since I lost by one and I of course failed the roll. The warshrine then had to turn and run and my opponent of course pursued and overran me and the shrine was gone completely..... For some reason this doesnt sound right. Are we doing this correctly? It just seems a tad too easy to take out?

did you do the impact hits? if so, you had very, very bad luck.

plus, the chariot should be charging instead of being charged, that way it works much better

Yes you are doing it right. If no wounds were done, the Wardancers get +1CR for charging and therefore win the combat by 1, you then take a Break test at -1Ld.

Grimni22: Impact hits do not count for the Warshrine as it's considered a monster, not a chariot. Even if it was, it got charged so no impact hits would be done by it anyways.

But yes, charging would've been better either way, as it seems to be the case for the Wardancers ;)

And for completeness, even though its a Monster, the FAQ says it does NOT get Thunderstomp.
Although the fact it can't be Thunderstomped is nice against many Monsters.
