taking out Slaan

Just wondering how other woc players deal with Slaan. While I have played lizardmen on a good few occasions and won my fair share or games against them, I just never am able to kill the git.

Just after peoples personal experience not theory hammer please

Maybe flanking or Rear-charging with a Khorn hero on Jugger and a nice unit of Knights or using items like Tendrils and Infernal to cause horrible calamities?

Ive never actually fought a lizardman army so I don't know what heat they're packing.

Just some ideas maybe

I mostly commonly see them running Life, so move your mage so he is within 24 inches of the Slann's unit, but not the Slann himself (to avoid Becalming Cogitation) and then 6-Dice Dwellers. Its a 50/50 to kill the frog outright.

Also, create flank/rear threats, Dwellers (and all Direct Damage spells) require front-arc for targetting. Line-up a unit Knights or the like to threaten his unit and force him to make some tough choices.

Although, I rarely focus directly on the Slann and prefer to destroy the other nearby units. Although I do quite like going for the Dwellers opotion per above.

Hi Conjoy,

Most ideas I had at first was hitting the unit with Gateway, but sadly alot of the big UK tournaments have now nerfed most "big" spells so that it only does 1 wound and you get look out sir.

For Gateway they also removed the "11/12 remove unit" to that many wounds with no armour and ward save.

Great vs Greater daemons. Crap vs Slaan

Assuming then, that they are also capping unit sizes/points then just get stuck-in to those TGuard with Kh Marauders.
Even with his buffs, you should be able to out-fight him. Assuming he has a frontage of 5, GWep Marauders kill 5ish per turn, even if the TG are T6.
My philosophy for the Slann magic phase is to always block Throne of Vines. It means if he goes for IF he either has to have Cupped, or will pay a hefty price. And for the smaller spells its means they don’t get buffed. T4 Skinks is still manageable, T6 Skinks are a nightmare.
