I love the chaos chariot models, and i love it even more with a khorne hero on it.

for 300ish points you could have a nice offensive hero on a chariot, if I read correctly, chariots no longer insta-die from str7. Would it be decent to have a hero on a chariot? The idea is so cool, but I felt it never really performed well (outside of combat).

Any thoughts? I'd rather not waste money and time crafting this model if its going to be a disappointment (plus I hate seeing my heroes die).

Unless you are taking this for fluff reasons it makes no sense points wise.
You have to pay for the mark on the chariot but the only benefit you get is one extra attack from one crew and two additional mount attacks if you interpret the rules that way. Plus you pay for the mark for the Hero.
So 45 points for +1 hero attack, +1 Warrior attack and +2 mount attacks. Doesn't really stack-up IMHO.
Alternatively you could take the Iron Curse Icon for 5 points on your Hero and the MoTz for a nice 5+ Ward against Warmachines, which are the bane of Chariots.
Or just not put the character on a Chariot at all: all a Hero adds is two attacks plus his magic item allowance.

An exalted hero has four attacks total so unless your counting the two attacks the warrior crew member gets against his attacks he adds four attacks not just two.

Then marking him and the chariot with Khorne gives him another attack and the warrior another attack so your looking at eight attacks then the two horses added another two between them so ten attacks after impact hits.

Sounds like a nice way to spend forty five points to me but then I never cared much about competitive I'm more a fluffy gamer so you can take a good amount of what I say with a grain of salt.

My Hero would have 4(5) attacks, my warrior would have 2(3) attacks, and the horses would total to 2(4) attacks. That is 8 str5 attacks and 4 str4 attacks plus impact hits.

You are right, points-wise it makes no sense. It would essentially be a waste of 15pts (MoK for hero). I was thinking, having him on a chariot would be a nice way to beef up a hero, especially sense it wont be insta-killed anymore. I suppose, with 4 wounds, a cannonball would kill me in 2 hits, 1 if im unlucky... so it's not much better. I really want to put my hero on a chariot of khorne, I think that'd be so cool. I did it before and it didn't work, I was hoping it might have a shot now.

I'll let you know if I have any success with it.

it really depends who you're facing. A khorne exalted hero with blasphemous amulet on a khorne chariot can be a death machine, if he's not facing any shoot-heavy army.

The hero would replace one of the crew so its a very valid comparison to make.
All a hero on Chariot adds is 2 attacks and whatever bonuses his magic items give. But you pay a very hefty penalty in having to effectively double-mark the model.

And, as discussed elsewhere, Khorne is not ideal for a Chariot, as it means it has to overrun and pursue, something you don't necessarily want on a unit largely designed for clearing chaff.

So, all in all, its simply more points than its worth? Would it be advised to simply not use chariots of khorne?

Hm I suppose that's fairly true but I'm the type who would still do it anyways just because I think it would look cool but you certainly make valid points against doing it.

There's a few reasons not to do it but I still would personally because I still think it would look cool but that's your choice to make if you do or don't try it out iggy.
