:) I agree on the large plastic kit; it might be a chaos dragon (as all new armies are getting a plasic huge monster) Edited by grimni22, Nov 23 2011, 10:33 PM.

Lets hope they make the Foresaken playable. I love the fluff and had done some conversions but they never see the table. If not the plastic models may onle be good for kit bashing, which is not that bad but we have the sapwan model for that. Hinge |

Might just be new models (rumour doesn't say anything about a book), I had the same reaction when I first read it, I hope it isn't just models, I mean who is going to take forsaken? they actually have no point in the list I imagine the new plastic kit is going to be some sort hybrid kit, a Chaos dragon and some other kind of creature, possibly a shaggoth (which I doubt considering its in finecast and not in need of a new model). The way he said about it being a surprise does make me think its something less obvious than a dragon, maybe some new kind of creature that chaos have which can be made into different monsters. If no new book then they are bound to get some sort of rules update in WD. |

I have to say, this was sooner than I was expecting. A plastic Warshrine kit will be pretty cool, if nothing else. |

So...EXCITED!!! :D Hoping the big kit is a Arachnarok-sized Dragon with a kind of cut at the beginning of the neck and a Shaggoth torso/head/arms variant. Hastings does indeed confirm it's a book. Will have to get...a lot of stuff. Theo |

Indeed Theo, my first response was it was a new book however seeing how so many people seem to think they don't need one I did start to wonder consider what they did with VC in WD, I am very happy they get a new book rather than rushed thing done down the pub half pissed we currently have, I just hope Ghost is right :) I still have my doubts as to a dragon rider, first wave plastic monsters so far have been something new, seeing as the shaggoth is fine cast and how the only logical reason to do a dragon is a hybrid kit (in first wave with a shaggoth) I doubt it. My money is on a giant spawn thing or a bound daemon, perhaps along the lines of what chaos dwarfs get (just WoC themed). Edited by Kormak, Nov 24 2011, 03:00 AM.

I'd really love a huge shaggoth. It should IMO not be as puny than it is now, certainly no smaller than a Giant/Ghorgon. More like filling up an Arachnarok base pretty well. That'd be EPIC! And it could share most of a body with a Chaos Dragon...Gods I hope that's the case...I'd have to get both. Just wishlisting though. :) Gigantic Chaos Spawn? There are rules for that in SoM, doesn't seem nearly monstrous enough to be "the new huge" thing we've seen being a trend recently. Harry really put emphasis on "big!". And GW are trying to separate the armies, giving us 1 random Daemon unit wouldn't make much sense. Also, both Shaggoths and Chaos Dragons could be used in Storm of Magic. I'm sure you would, we all would but they have already put the shaggoth in finecast! I don't believe they would have bothered if they planned on making a plastic one, it would have remained as direct order only. Funny you mention the Arachnarok, this really links into my point or something not already in the book, just as the terrorgheist, Thundertusk/Stonehorn, Warsphinx/Necrosphinx, Skaven Hell Pit Abomination, Skaven Doomwheel (while a remake of a older model from 4th ed which got dropped). lets just say it was the Giant spined spawn (I actually meant something new but hey) how is that any less monstours than a Arachnarok? its stats are pretty comparable actually so with some tweaking it could be exactly what they needed. The forge world model is also a fair size, me I think it will be something new like with every other new book, redoing stuff in plastic in most cases seems like a 2nd wave release. No reason why whatever they made couldn't be used in SoM, WD could very easily release some scrolls of bindings for it, I was personally more thinking the Giant bound daemons, I just put in the other idea as a maybe. Of course we could very well see something like this: Posted Image Maybe just a little smaller, you think thats epic enough? |

Trim its price down a tad, give it some rules that actually make sense, and you have yourself a deal! ;) |

I just hope Matt Ward doesn't touch the book. I imagine they are going to jack the price of marauders way up, and the Dragon Ogres/Ogres/Forsaken/Named heroes will still be unplayable. Magic items I'm not too worried about but I'm sure they'd be gutted as well. |

I only hope they dont do the hardcore nerfing to them that some of the whiners are demanding such as making them I4 and 1 attack each instead of 2. People dont seem to understand warriors have no real range and are movement 4. If they took away how killy they were when the eventually got there, there would be no reason to play them. Speaking from my experience my units never get there at full strength if my opponent has any shooting which most of them do since HE are very popular at my store, So if my warriors didnt have a ton of attacks they would never win combats since they are almost always outnumbered. I just hope they dont make mark of nurgle suck or i willl have to repaint my army. The only mark that is actually bad IMO is slaneesh, It was made usless in 8th, but the other marks are still good. Some would argue that mark of nurgle is almost as useless since the close combat aspect of it only affects ogres in chances to hit.

That sucks, I love the current army book. But not suprised, as I heard about play testing being done for a while now. This can shelf the rumour about a three in one big Chaos army book of Daemons, Mortals and Beasts. GoC Edited by GeneralofChaos42, Nov 24 2011, 11:20 AM.

If it's by Matt Ward I'll kill someone. Anyway, while I do like humongous Mammoths as much as the next guy, GW and FW generally won't touch anything, other has made, so seems a bit unlikely. Also, there is the FW model for Storm of Magic (And they do have rules in Tamurkhan, I think, so you should be able to use it whenever you want if you actually buy it.), so I really doubt it's a Mammoth. I'll create a Wishlisting thread, I'd like to discuss about how we hope the new book turns out. :) Theo |
