I played both for quite awhile, and then got into Yu-Gi-Oh when it came out (I was 8, don't judge me. :'( ) I
No judgement... I loved Yu-Gi-Oh! I never played the game with the actual physical cards, but rather on my Nintendo DS. It was/is a great game!
It's a great game! I'm not interested in Emo-Elf-Goblin dark cards of doooom from magic, the Yu-Gi-Oh cards actually have character! I play it a bit, sometimes at school.

Nerd and proud. :D

I know what you mean, because I cannot see how that guy tried to make that argument given how the models look. I mean, every single Halberdier is two-handing their Halberd and thrusting forward. What more model-based explanation do you need? Seriously? I'm in favor of gamesmanship, but that goes beyond what is reasonable.

His argument was that the little rule book had now rules for two handed weapons thus it doesn't say you can't use a shield, his argument was that the HW+SH bonus just gave you a parry save..

We couldn't find the rules at the time and we actually had to roll for it! I did find it the other day hidden in the special rules section rather than the weapon sections, was abit lame..

That's gotta be up there as one of the crazier stories I've heard. I feel for you there, bud. Anyway, let's return to the business of rampant speculation regarding the new army book. ;)

Do you think something like a Scout upgrade for Forsaken will be available? We're one of the few armies that doesn't have Scouts, and I think Forsaken would be the choice to do it out of anything in the army. I'm also wondering if we'll finally get appropriately priced Dragon Ogres - it would be nice to field a block of 6 or so of them without breaking the bank.

to cover the lack of any scout / shooting, i was thinking this.

marauders. stat line to remain 4 pts

gw 2 pt
flail 2 pt
cross bows 2 pt
light armour 1 pt
shields 1 pt

marauders may take the scout special rule 30 pts
marauders may take the skirmish special rule 30 pts

mok - hatred, test each round of combat / killing blow
mon - 5+ regen / poison attacks / +1 toughness
mot - 6+ ward save / unit takes bound spell or a gift of some kind
mos - asf / immune to psychology

the marks are just things bandied around on the forum already. more suggestions than anything.

anyway marauders being able to take those two special rules makes sense to me. roving bands of tribesman should be able to perform those roles well. and crossbows seemed suitable brutal for chaos. bows are for gay wimpy elves and pistols just dont belong in a chaos army.

just an idea but would give the marauders a much more versatile role. dropping a unit of 20 maaruders with crosbows in after deployment would be sweet.

Now you see I think Marauders should lose a I value and marks and great weapons should be more expensive than flails.

your right great weapons should be more expensive than flails.

i suppose it makes sense from a fluff point of view to loose marks. you have mentioned this in a number of previous posts, it makes sense. would accept to loose marks if we gained the options mentioned above. wouldnt like it though.

ive just painted 50 khorne marauders. i hope they keep marks. there more fun

No reason why they can't worship khorne, all my marauders had a Khorne theme before they gained marks!

I think that a unit of marauders hunters with skirmish/scout rule, and some ranged attack, like javelins or bows, would be a great addition for the army. They could make up for the loss of harpy, too.
For the DOs, the point is this:
they are going to get new models, so we can expect a good buff. If that's not enough proof think this: every new army is getting a monstrous cavalry/infantry which is pretty killy: VC are getting one too. So I think that DOs will be that kind of unit, otherwise we're getting some nasty knights/chosen cavalry on demonic steeds from hell, which I think will make all us happy. And poor, too.

I'd like both, but here's to hoping you're right and that we get Dragon Ogres that don't cost an arm and a leg, points-wise.

I would be happy if DO and shaggoths got a better save and a better stormrage rule for the same points, I'm still going to use them, just bought myself a new shaggoth and converted him with additional hand weapons :D

The points of a shaggoth in SoM is pretty reasonable!

i think that T6 with a decent armour save will make the shaggoth a good choice. a 3+ save would make the difference.
