Nurgle Lord on Palanquin of Nurgle; How does it rank up

I like to run my Chaos Lord on a Palanquin. Mainly because its kinda fluffy and i spent hours modelling and painting it. I like to put it in a unit of warriors. How does it rank up. it displaces 4 of them. so he just sits in the corner etc.

Also, being as though he is the front rank, do the warriors behind him (second rank to him, third to the rest) get to attack as supporting attacks?

wwwwLL
wwwwLL
wwwwWW

if the "w" is a warrior, the L is the lord on PoN, and the "W" are the warriors behind the lord, do the "W" get to make supporting attacks as they are "2nd" rank?

Just curious, i couldnt find this argument in the RuleBook. Thanks!

Yes, they do. They are directly behind a model in B2B contact with the enemy. Technically this can even net you an extra attack if your enemy is only corner to corner with the Palanquin, both of the warriors behind him get to attack.

I don't think so. Is it in the FAQ? Otherwise, it takes up second rank space as well, the second rank is the physical second rank, and the Palanquin takes up the space of 2 front rank warriors and 2 second rank warriors, IMO.

Read the book, it specifically says 'directly behind a model in base to base contact with the enemy' It does not say 'In the second rank'

What items do you throw on it, Bug? I've been thinking of doing this with my level 4 or BSB. The Blasphemous Amulet could be cute to get in a couple extra wounds, but is a little expensive maybe? Good idea, or no!

This is a topic after my own heart. I've been trying to fit the amulet on him because of that wide frontage along with a warrior unit to take the banner of taking toughness tests in the magic phase for a lot of toughness checks, but he is just so vulnerable then because he either a) doesn't have a ward save or b) has a wardsave with a terrible armor save.

Personally I'm going to use the palanquin on a Lord with either Tali of Pres, Dragonhelm, sword of might, sh, and Helm of Many Eyes or Tali of Pres, Trickster's Helm, Ironcurse and a Great Weapon.

I've also considered using a Sorc on Palanquin and in that case I think Tali of Pres, enchanted shield and Puppet are mandatory and then add in a biting blade or ironcurse, etc. for flavor.

I was also leaning more towards the sorc lord over the BSB. The BSB's magic allowance probably isn't large enough to properly defend him, but the Sorc Lord should be sitting pretty with the Talis of Pres, Puppet, and the remainder seasoning to taste.

How is Horde at attacking in '3' ranks defined then?

If Mindrazor works with mounts, buffing your Nurgle Lord with it would seriously put on the hurt.

Nurgle Lord
Palanquin
2 hw
Collar of Khorne
Crown of Command

Buffed with Mindrazor? trololololo~

Horrible thing to plan on, but it sure would be funny to slam that into some Grave Guard or Black Orcs and laugh as they all die a horrible death.

I am almost certain you can't take additional hand weapon if mounted.

Sometimes i would give him the chaos runesword, tali of preservation. On top of the PoN, he gets pretty expensive.

If you are taking a CL only a really good army or ward is necessary, especially f you are nurgle. In 8th you really only need to worry about torrents of Rnf attacks, Ws8, T5, and one good save will often be enough. MofN meaning most units in the game will need 5s to hit you is plenty.

One plus or two plus armour with Blas Amulet would be a neat effect. Halberd or ++S weapons to snipe any characters. Also remember you will often be in a challenge as feeding you his champion will help the enemy preserve his steadfast longer, so extra protection brings diminishing returns.
