Has anyone tried this before? Was thinking about trying this in a 2000 pt game. Mark of Nurgle with Banner of rage. A lot of risk involved having this much points in one unit. maybe a hellcannon protecting their flank. Hmm i dont know... what do you guys think? Obviously not the best idea in a 2k game but thought it would be funny and catch them off guard. |

It can be done, though Frenzy is a bit of a gamble because you can get redirected. Mark of Tzeentch + Blasted Standard could be nice, though. |

I find it a little bit of a waste. They've got 3 attacks each and the supporting ranks can only give you 1 additional attack each. But saying that, with 50 attacks, whatevers in there way is getting out of it... one way or another! |

Thats alot of points not in defenses that will keepyou alive. they'll just flank you or shoot the snot out of you. Blasted standard or not. they will really only have one target./ |

Not necessarily. A Horde of 40 Chaos Warriors with Halberds, Full Command, MoT, and the Blasted Standard only sets you back 730 points. You can quite easily complement it with a Horde of 50 GW Marauders and a Chosen-star, and then your opponent's choices are between a rock, a hard place, and oblivion. Horde formation is also quite a bit less wasteful if you go MoT instead of MoK, because then you only had 2 attacks per model to begin with. Actually, the more I think about this idea, the more I would like to try it, at least one time. Edited by rothgar13, Dec 13 2011, 12:30 AM.

My brother did this against my MMU O&G in a 1600p game, using my Warriors...-.- I crushed it easily though, fear the might of the quadruple-charge! It's a meatgrinder, but it can be brought down. Tzeentch+Blasted standard would be reccommended, and maybe some MR. Theo |

this is the hordes main weakness. Without adequate flank protection i fear they are at the disadvantage of being set up for multiple charges. I was thinking of using wulfrik and a horde of marauders to "herd" the enemy into a man-wich. Perhaps lore of Heavens and the comet to make it difficult for the enemy to sit in ambush, keeping them moving. One or the other. I do like the MoT and blasted standard setup. Mok does seem awfully risky for this much points of warriors. |

Could work. The fear with a large block is off your opponent breaks it, then it's game over. Make sure you have some good supporting blocks to prevent flank charges and deployment is critical. |

Heres something i think i'll try in a 2k game: Exalted Hero - 200 - Obsidian Lodestone (MR3) - Favour of the Gods - BSB - Shield Wulfrik - 185 (General) Warriors x 40 - 770 - Full command - MoTz - Blasted Standard - Shield + Halberds Marauders x 40 - 250 - Full command - MoK - GW Marauder Horsemen - x5 - 95 - Flail - T.Spears - Lt. Armour - MoSL Hellcannon - 205 Scyla Anfingrimm - 105 Spawn - 55 Warshrine - 130 Total: 1995 points -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Idea being advance with the warriors slightly left or right of center (terrain allowing). Protected inner flank by a hellcannon. Protected rear and flanks by Scyla and spawn and warshrine. Blessings on the warriors from the warshrine being modified by the BSB's Favour of the Gods. BSB in the center of the warriors allowing for re-rolls on the LD tests of the hellcannons, also his Magic resistance 3 allowing for 3++ ward saves for the warriors unit against wounds from magic. That along side 4++ ward saves in the shooting phase. Wulfrik, once he arrives can pick a table edge that favours our situation at the time. Likely to be behind a good number of enemy units that are trying to flank our horde of warriors on our 'weak' side. They will have to make the decision to face the horde of marauders or continue to try the flank of the warriors that should be protected by an unbreakable hellcannon for at least one turn. thats my theory anyway. i dont mind not taking magic too much in a 2k game. Level 2 mages never seem to make too much of a difference to me anyway. Edited by nzkoston, Dec 13 2011, 03:36 PM.
