Usually some form of epic soundtrackage or some glorious shining epic power metal! Symphony X and Blind Guardian are favourites.

I like soundtracks as well. I think some of the Skyrim soundtrack would make epic war gaming music!

I listen to a lot of 'Viking' metal out of Norway when playing (and at all other times), stuff like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfrYkpa3770

Awesome music and vastly appropriate lyrics like the chorus of that one:

"Into battle we ride with gods by our side,
We are strong and not afraid to die,
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled,
We'll fight 'til the end and send our enemies straight to hell,
Straight to hell!"

My lady friend bailed out on me today so I did end up playing skyrim all day xD and I did download the soundtrack while I was at it so tomorrow's game will definitely be an epic one!

What do you think of the game? Are you playing it on Xbox or PC or PS3?

I think it is a really fitting soundtrack for Fantasy war gaming... especially if there are dragons about... FOS RO DAH!

I play it on my Xbox, though I have helped friends who use either PS3 or PC, so I have had a touch on all three systems. Game is amazing. I was very impressed with the graphics. Major jump from Oblivion. One of my characters is actually based around the story I am writing for my WoC list xD

That is awesome. I'm excited about the new expansion dlc, dawnguard, that gets released on Tuesday! :)

To get back on topic, the old Conan soundtrack is also great for wargaming

Personally I like Immortal when working on WoC, they are just a perfect match. However, my opponents usually tend to dislike the music...infidels!

I find it varies but normally it's Meat loaf, metallica, Bon Jovi, the Kerrang albums etc. On occasion good old classical theme tune music like gladiator tune, O'Fortuna from Excalibur and such things adds abit of atmosphere.

I agree with skyrim soundtrack as im playing it on 360 between building minis. I also like like putting some of my own soundtrack/playlists on which include heavy metal while i build my warriors.

Cheers,

Dark

To be honest..... We all know Amon Amarth is exactley what matches WoC in combat. All you need to do is listen to 'Gods of War Arise' and you can see the mental image that follows as your Warriors butcher their helpless victims :p

This is my soundtrack for painting for the past few weeks. The music stays off during games to avoid distraction.

Tarantula Hawk - Instrumental music - Sounds like the soundtrack to a giant battle.
Tragedy - Fast and intense hardcore punk - I can imagine this playing as hordes of marauders are rushing forward to crush in the enemies skulls.
Wolfpack - Crusty hardcore punk - The knights are now cresting the hill and ready to join the battle. Overhead the shots of the hell cannon are on their way to destroy our enemies.
Rudimentary Peni - Punk written and performed by a man with a severe chemical imbalance- Like the insane ramblings of one of Tzeentch's faithful.
Chelsea Wolfe - Doom folk - Music for the chanting of the tribal shamans to cast their spells.
