This list came in 3rd ou of 65 players at Lonewolf with a W-L-D record of 4-1-0. Haven't seen the scores, but it might be the highest ranking Warriors army by Battle Points too, I'll know in a day or so.

The only change was to the BSB who used Miasma instead of Death spells and was a huge help in several battles. The reduction in movement stopped multiple dangerous charges, while the reduction in Weapon Skill saved my troops while killing a larger number of his.

In addition the Third Eye was awesome! I was able to steal several spells during my battles that made magic difficult to deal with for my opponent. Some were dispelled, but a few like 3D6 Fireball, Supersized-Foot of Gork, & Curse of Years really hurt my opponents. With a little more luck or a few extra PD, I would have been able to case a Maw Pit against Ogres and a few other fun spells.

The General was quite useful, but got killed 3 of the 5 battles due his amazing ability to roll 50% 1's and 2's for combat and saves. However the competition was tougher, so it's likely I just gave him way too many opportunities to roll dice and eventually dice luck will go bad.

60x Marauders are a perfect number in my mind and they performed amazingly well. Once again only 1 unit was destroyed the entire tournament, proving them to be extremely difficult to deal with for just about any army.

Battle Reports with pictures are coming soon-ish.

I knew there were several WoC doing well, so yeah, it appears Warriors are in plentiful supply in the top rankings.

Congrats on doing so well.

-Edit-

Looks like You did do better than me by 2 Battle Points.

How did you make the chaos lord??
I went to the "Cool Mini or Not" online store and bought him (then put it on a base from Scibor Miniatures).

300 pts more...

Likely I would add a Warshrine or maybe upgrade the Level 2 Tzeentch to a Level 3 or 4.

Also another unit of Halberd Warriors would be handy, 18 with Khorne, Halberd & Shield but without banner or champ might just barely fit with a little tweeking.

The Khorne Halberds were amazingly deadly when they got into combat, but it's difficult to keep a single unit alive... two might be better.

one unit of 18 is very tough to keep alive, which was my biggest issue during lonewolf. this was the first time ive taken such a small unit, and it was very easily brought down by every opponent (this was my sorc and bsbs unit most of the time as well.).

High Elves, as i expected, are easily able to deal with hordes of marauders. i played against the same player you did and both units were cut to less than 20 in 3 turns. luckily he only had 1 horde of white lions as his hitting unit, so i was able to move the marauder horsemen, hell cannons, and chariots around the flanks to get all his archers, witch he was not able to keep me from doing. if he had taken 2-3 units of white lions / sword masters, and knew how to use his eagles better, im not sure if victory would be possible with either of our lists. (all archer core + flames of the phoenix and vauls unmaking wrecks face).

Hmm. My unit of 14 only died once in five games at Lonewolf. Same with the 12 man Chosen. I was lucky I did not face any skaven since one of those units is usually killed by the second turn.

I think the issue with Furgil's list is that as an opponent looks at it, he sees the Warriors being the easiest thing to score points off off. So they soak up lots of the opponents resources.

i could deft see that. my issue was that every opponent ( 3 dark elves, high elves, and empire) used an all archer core, where with the dark elves that comes to 110 armor piercing shots a turn, which is more than enough to remove 18 warriors. high elves ran 56 archers as well, though they shot at the marauders (this was the only game the unit survived), and empire was 6 dicing dwellers every turn at them (this i was ok with, since i would much preferred this over my marauders. the warrior unit died on turn 5 after a bit of combat, though my chars went untouched. the game was very close, and was decided once i got into combat with his horde of great swordsman with my maruader units. i won combat, broke them, and had them flee further than both my m,arauder units could catch, then they ran through 2 of his units and so far away that 2 turns was not enough to get to them. preventing me from getting 650 points :(. if i had caught the unit i would have won solidly)

@ Furgil - nice list, though I imagine protecting your hordes against the obvious chaff induced over-runs is testing? What do you find the list struggles with?

flames of the phoenix and vauls unmaking are an absolute bitch. there goes your horde and your 3+ ward on your characters. arrow attraction on marauders, 60 shots = dead unit. 3 eagles tie up your chosen for 4-5 turns. always a hard fought battle.

Why no shrines?
Because they are a crutch (IMO). Not that I think they aren't useful or reasonable for peopel to play with them. Feel free to use Warshrines if they help your army.

I don't like them, because they change how you play the game and dictate a specific playstyle that is essentially the "Net List."

If I were to take Shrines, I would need 2 of them and Favor of the Gods on a Character. Plus Shines work best on Warriors, not Marauders, so I would need to drop most of the Marauders. Now I've got a completely different army.

I like huge units and fast hammers and minimal magic. Taking a slow army of Chosen in a Deathstar isn't my idea of fun.

The Knights are already super buff, no need to add to their awesomeness. The Frenzied Halberd Warriors with Flaming are total badasses naturally. The Marauder Hordes are expendable and don't benefit from many of the buffs.

So in short, they don't work the way I like to play.
