Please post comments (both negative and positive please) this is just an idea which occurred to me a few days ago. When you are placing terrain , place a dwarven brewery(you can find it on page 130 of the starter set rule book)on either side of the board, but on only the left or right flanks. |

Tactic One: Use This If Your Opponent Has Set Up On The Side Of The Board With The Brewery. With a bit of luck when your dwarven opponent is moving/placing his models some will get stuck by the ale house. You can then move your hard hitting models without the dwarves running away(If they fail their Ld test, I'm not sure but i think there is and an amulet or something like that which makes them automatically fail. |

Tactic Two: If You Are Going To Set Up On The Side Of The Brewery (Note... use this tactic before you set up to get the most out of it) Put your wizard and or hellcannon behind the brewery with a unit of marauders (with the banner of wrath) on the flank that is not protected (if you put the hellcannon there leave it slightly offset so it can still shoot properly), shoot from there, if the dwarves come to you hopefully they will get stuck on the brewery as in step one, this means they will have to pass a leadership test to get to you. If You're your unit will be safe for long enough to get some better protection(if it is needed)! |

The issue I am seeing is that it requires far too many variables going exactly the way you want starting on the simple fact that you have absolutely no guarantee of rolling a brewery on a regular basis. It might work on the off chance that you do and the dwarfs fail leadership tests but in the current game where BSB re-rolls are so common i just don't think its a reliable enough tactic. |

Most dwarf armies consist of sitting there and shooting you, waiting for you to goto them. Stick brewerys in there deployment and all you have is unbreakable dwarfs sitting there and shooting at you waiting for you to goto them. I took one in a mock doubles tournement for my dwarfs, you hard castle around it and pummel your enemies until they charage you, at which point you fight until the last dwarf I understand the whole "holding up dwarfs" aspect and that really does work well, but dwarfs in there nature stand still like cliffs agaisn the sea Edited by teafloy_the_damned, Jan 10 2012, 09:23 PM.
